The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 301: Chapter 301 Conditions for Taking a Concubine

After seeing Shui Lianlian, Song Ci felt extremely irritated and lost her patience with the old master of the Song Family who followed her in. As he was about to speak, she raised her hand.

”If you want to take her as a concubine, fine.”

She’s just a plaything. Why bother arguing with him as long as he agrees to her conditions?

The old master of the Song Family felt a surge of joy: ”You agree?”

Seeing his face light up with joy, Song Ci snorted coldly and said, ”I agree, as long as she’s willing to take the infertility medicine, I’ll agree to let her into the household.”

What?

The old master of the Song Family’s face changed: ”What did you say, infertility medicine? You old woman, you’re also a woman. How can you be so ruthless?”

”You also know I’m a woman. Why don’t you know what women hate the most? Why should she come and share my husband and expect to bear a bunch of kids to split the inheritance with my son? Am I supposed to be overjoyed? You should ask around the entire Great Qing Country, which woman would be willing?”

The old master of the Song Family was at a loss for words.

”Have her take the infertility medicine, and I’ll agree to you taking her as a concubine.” Song Ci sat down, speaking slowly and methodically: ”You already have four sons and a daughter. Not counting grandsons, there are also seven or eight grandchildren, all legitimate. In the future, you’ll have plenty of filial grandsons and granddaughters to look after your old age, carry your legacy, and buy water for your funeral. There’s no need to add any more illegitimate children.”

That makes sense, yet something feels off about it.

The old master of the Song Family pursed his lips: ”She’s also a woman. It’s too pitiful for her not to be a mother.”

Song Ci sneered: ”Selling herself to bury her father, if she can sell herself, she should have thought about what her fate would be. If she truly wants to repay her debts and be a mother, she could serve you as a maid and find another marriage later. Why bother becoming a concubine?”

”Becoming your concubine means she can’t be a mother, yet she’ll never worry about food or drink, surrounded by servants. What’s there not to like? Bearing children? Childbirth is very painful.”

The old master of the Song Family: ”...”

”You’d better think this through. This Shui girl, with her current figure and looks, once she gets pregnant, first her figure will get distorted, and after childbirth, her belly will have stretch marks, and, well... let’s just say you won’t enjoy it as much as before.” Song Ci gently advised: ”Would you still want her to give birth?”

The old master of the Song Family was taken aback, hesitating.

Song Ci didn’t rush him, calmly caressing her nails, not looking at him, and said indifferently: ”Such a delicate concubine, just to accompany you, resting on green sleeves and filling the room with fragrance, without the worries of children. How good is that? Once a woman has children, she has to revolve around them.”

The old master of the Song Family still felt some reluctance, saying: ”But if she takes the infertility medicine, she won’t be able to be a mother. She’s still so young, and if I go before her, this...”

Song Ci felt a stir in her heart, a feeling she couldn’t quite describe.

It was a kind of bittersweet sorrow, as if her damned conscience was unsettled, yet she was heartbroken. Perhaps it was that tiny bit of sentiment left from her previous life as an old woman.

Feeling somewhat melancholic.

She turned cold, lowered her eyelids, and said coldly: ”Since you can’t bear it, there’s another way. You could take the infertility medicine.”

The old master of the Song Family’s body trembled, looking at Song Ci in disbelief.

”You’re already quite old and have so many sons and grandchildren. Why bother having more children in your old age? In the future, no matter how you play around outside, you won’t be able to bring an illegitimate child back. It’s good for you, good for your sons, and good for the Song Family, right?” Song Ci smiled and said: ”Since it doesn’t matter whether it’s you or her who takes it, and if you pity her, then you take it. That way, she still has a chance to be a mother.”

She smiled kindly, but to the old master of the Song Family, it was a devilish smile.

To hell with the opportunity, what she means is giving Shui Lianlian a chance to betray him, right?
