The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 296: Chapter 296: The Fourth Master Wants to Climb the Wall

When Song Zhiyuan found out that his youngest brother had gone out of the city with Niu Pan’er to welcome Prince Dingbei, he felt a headache coming on and went straight to Chunhui Hall to talk to Song Ci as soon as he got back to the mansion.

”I’ve already asked Si Xi to find out. I know about this. That kid is such a troublemaker, he couldn’t stand the sight of others, yet he turned around to welcome his father out of the city. His skin must be three feet thick; he’s missing a screw.” Song Ci complained: ”Your little brother, I have to say, is just immature. This marriage, who knows if it’s a good thing or a bad thing.”

He’s still such a naive kid himself. Can he really bear the responsibility of being a husband and father?

Song Zhiyuan: ”...”

Is that really the main issue here?

”Mother, how did the meeting go today?”

Song Ci: ”I’ve already mentioned it to that Madam Shen, thinking to meet again, but it seems your little brother is somewhat resistant.”

Song Zhiyuan’s face darkened: ”This matter cannot be left to his whims.”

Song Ci saw his expression change and her heart thumped wildly.

The elder son getting angry is no trivial matter.

She asked cautiously, ”Eldest, do we really have to rush to settle this? After all, everything is just speculation and might not be as we think.”

”Mother, Prince Dingbei has already returned to the capital.”

Song Ci muttered, ”If it truly becomes a royal marriage order, I really like Pan’er. That child is good.”

”Once the marriage is decreed, the Song Family will truly become the filling of a sandwich.” Song Zhiyuan chuckled wryly.

Marrying into Prince Dingbei’s Mansion would elevate the Song Family’s status, but with higher status comes greater risk, and he was also thinking about the Song Family’s future.

Song Ci said nothing, and after a while, she sighed deeply, as if resigning to fate, and said, ”Then in a couple of days, I’ll go to the Shen Family and settle it for the child.”

Regarding Fu Qing, Song Ci had already checked her background when she first met her. Other than having a slightly lower status, there was nothing wrong, and Song Zhiyu himself was just a common lad, making them a perfect match.

Going to the Shen Family now would mean delivering the oral betrothal token.

Seeing her looking helpless and unwilling, Song Zhiyuan couldn’t help but smile. Who’s the one eager to drink the daughter-in-law’s tea now, looking so reluctant?

”Mother, there’s no need to worry about the fourth brother. I’ll have a talk with him later.”

”Oh.”

Seeing her disheartened, Song Zhiyuan suddenly felt as if he had become a villain.

Could it be that he was being overly cautious?

Song Zhiyuan didn’t linger long in Chunhui Hall, turning around to head to Fufeng Pavilion where his youngest brother was.

”Fourth Master, please come down. If the old madam finds out, I’ll really be kicked out.” Si Xi said with a sobbing tone.

”Better to die standing than live kneeling; being grounded is impossible, not in this lifetime. I want to go out. The vibrant flowers are waiting for me.” Song Zhiyu, riding on Si Xi’s shoulders, gave his head a pat: ”Stand still for me, stop fidgeting. If you drop me, you’ll regret it.”

”Fourth Master, even if you want to climb the wall, can’t you wait until tomorrow or the day after? Isn’t it better to just stay honestly in the mansion tonight?”

”Tonight is the auction night of the Oiran Yu Zui at Wanxian Pavilion. I can’t miss it.” Song Zhiyu wobbled standing on Si Xi’s shoulders, reaching out for the top of the wall.

Upon arriving at the backyard, Song Zhiyuan saw his undisciplined youngest brother attempting to climb the wall for an oiran, climbing the wall!

”Ahem!”

Song Zhiyu’s body stiffened, mechanically turning his head, immediately seeing his elder brother standing behind him with a grim face. He trembled with fright, falling off Si Xi’s shoulders.

”Ahhh!”
