The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 284: Chapter 284: Viewing Each Other, If Not Successful Then Become Benevolent

Since today’s meeting is with other young girls, Song Ci dressed in warmer colors than usual, giving her an amiable and kind appearance, even stretching her face a few times.

”Nanny Gong, do I look fierce?” Sitting on the Taishi chair, Song Ci asked again.

Nanny Gong laughed and said, ”You look very kind and gentle.”

Indeed, a person is dressed by their clothes. Before her illness, Song Ci often wore very dull colors, giving off a gloomy and unapproachable vibe.

After being ill, her clothes, though not overly dark, were much brighter than before, with more blue, purple, red, and orange colors, making her look more spirited and gentle.

Song Ci touched her hair bun and said, ”Are the greeting gifts ready?”

”They are all prepared.”

Only then did Song Ci feel relieved, watching the main entrance with anticipation. When a maid reported that the guests had arrived, she squeezed out a smile and whispered, ”Let the fourth child get ready and come over at the right moment.”

This match-making meeting, either succeeds or breaks.

”Yes.”

Madam Song led Madam Shen into the flower hall with a cheerful smile, followed by several well-dressed young ladies.

The flowers of Great Qing Country.

Song Ci’s eyes sparkled as her gaze swept over the young girls.

Madam Shen smiled and greeted Song Ci respectfully: ”Greetings to the Grand Madam.”

The young girls beside her also curtsied and sweetly called her Grand Madam.

Their sweet voices melted Song Ci’s heart.

”Look at these girls, how beautiful they are! Madam Shen, you are truly blessed,” Song Ci said with a smile.

Madam Shen modestly replied, ”They’re just kids, unworthy of Grand Madam’s praise.”

”They must be praised. Such pretty young girls are welcomed everywhere. But with my old eyes, I can’t tell who is who, who is older and who is younger.”

Madam Shen first introduced Shen Shuzhen from the second branch, who was third in the family, then her own daughter Shen Shuyun, and finally Fu Qing.

Song Ci naturally asked each of them how old they were and what they usually did at home.

Shen Shuzhen said, ”Grand Madam, I usually read scriptures and do embroidery for my grandmother at home.”

Madam Shen almost laughed out loud—she’s the one who can turn a mandarin duck into a duck in embroidery, and she says she does embroidery?

Shen Shuyun, innocent and lively, with a round face still carrying some baby fat, smiled and said that she liked to tinker with food at home.

”Very good, all are filial and skillful children.” Song Ci gave them the greeting gifts and then looked at Fu Qing.

This is the daughter-in-law she fancied.

Fu Qing might have guessed something, and with some shyness, she said, ”I only do some embroidery and help my mother with accounting at home, and when I visit my aunt’s house, I also do embroidery and read.”

Shen Shuzhen lowered her head and sneered disdainfully.

Song Ci said, ”Last time I saw you in crimson, it looked very nice. Today, this light blue also suits you well. Young girls should dress brightly. Don’t wear those dull colors that don’t match your age and don’t look good.”

Perhaps to avoid appearing frivolous, Fu Qing didn’t tighten her waist as much, which didn’t make her chest as prominently impressive as when they first met. Still, she looked pleasing.

Shen Shuzhen’s expression slightly changed, glancing at her own rather mature-colored clothes. She bit her lip slightly and clenched her hand into a fist.

Miscalculated, she thought the Grand Madam preferred something more stable.

”Here, this vermillion hairpin, it suits a young girl well.” Song Ci took the box from Nanny Gong’s hand, pulled out a tassel-embedded red-jeweled hairpin, and placed it in Fu Qing’s hair.

Seeing this, everyone had different thoughts, while Shen Shuzhen, standing next to Fu Qing, stared at the hairpin with reddened eyes.
