The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 286: Chapter 286 Scared Me to Death

Si Xi was on the verge of tears, wondering how he ended up with such a troublesome master!

If heaven gave him the chance to choose again, he would definitely...

...still choose him!

Si Xi composed himself, chased after Song Zhiyu who was enthusiastically licking a candied haw, and pleaded, ”Fourth Master, there must be guests at home by now. Madam had already said you should stay in the mansion so you can be presented when the time comes. You running off now, isn’t this costing me my life?”

”Nonsense, as long as I’m around, who would dare take your life? I’d tear them apart!” Song Zhiyu licked the sugar off the haw, hmm, it was quite sweet indeed, well worth buying a whole bunch.

”Shoo, shoo, I’m not selling candied haws, these are all for my Fourth Master.” Si Xi carried all the candied haws on his back, chased away the children gathering around, and caught up with Song Zhiyu, saying, ”Fourth Master, I think anyone would dare, like Madam, like Prime Minister, they command, and you’ll never see Fourth Master again.”

Song Zhiyu wanted to refute, but thought of those two ancestors and was choked, awkwardly saying, ”It’s not that serious, they’re all good people.”

Si Xi scoffed.

”Fourth Master, since this is about your lifelong happiness, Madam has invited someone to the mansion, and you not being there, where does that leave Madam?” Si Xi earnestly advised, ”And Madam, she’s put so much thought into this little banquet, if you won’t even take a look, are you planning to remain a bachelor for life?”

Heavens no, he didn’t want to be a bachelor, he already had his eyes on Grandmother Hua’s granddaughter, Peach Blossom, waiting for Fourth Master to marry so he could ask the new mistress for a match.

”I don’t want to look right now,” Song Zhiyu bit into a candied haw and said, ”I’ll look when I feel like it.”

Si Xi chuckled coldly, ”I’m afraid you won’t even get the chance to look, running out like this, when you return to the mansion, you’re sure to hear news of your engagement.”

Song Zhiyu almost choked, pointing at him, ”You insolent servant, how dare you threaten me!”

”This is not a threat, merely a good-hearted reminder.”

”What nonsense ’good-hearted,’ nothing good ever comes from your mouth, you’re cursing me.” Song Zhiyu huffed, but felt a bit uneasy inside, could it be true?

As Si Xi was about to speak, the sound of hooves approached, and he instantly stiffened and pulled Song Zhiyu to the side of the road without thinking.

Goodness, let’s not have a repeat of last time with getting kicked by a horse again.

Song Zhiyu stumbled as he was pulled and was just about to curse when a cloud of dust made him cough.

Damn, what little brat is so arrogant, thinking only he has a horse?

”Song Yulang?”

Song Zhiyu paused his coughing, looked up, and saw Niu Pan’er riding her tall horse, smiling at him.

It’s her, it’s her again, that she-devil!

”What are you doing here?” Niu Pan’er asked.

Song Zhiyu raised his chin, ”Why do you care what I’m doing, can’t I just stroll around, did I ask what you were doing? Mind your own business.”

Swish.

The guard behind Niu Pan’er drew his sword with a swish, glaring fiercely at him, ”How bold!”

Song Zhiyu was so frightened he took two steps back.

Scared to death!

Niu Pan’er raised her hand slightly, smiling as she said, ”My father has arrived in the capital, I’m going out of the city to welcome him.”

”Oh.” Song Zhiyu responded indifferently, then his mind turned, ”Father? You mean Prince Dingbei has arrived in the capital?”

Oh my, the Prince Dingbei who makes even children cry, an unrivaled hero and mighty figure, he’s come to the capital, what a majestic presence he must be, I wonder what he looks like?

Song Zhiyu was a bit curious, ”Which gate is he entering from?”

Niu Pan’er raised an eyebrow, ”Do you want to go with me?”

The guards: ”...”

In broad daylight, are they hearing things?
