Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

He looked at the woman beside him, still asleep. In the ample light, he could see her clearly. As she slept soundly, she looked like a sleepy child, as if she had been exhausted for days.

He got up, dressed, tucked the blanket around her, and when he opened the door, Sister Huan was standing by the door. She was initially taken aback when she saw him, then asked, ”Young Master, is Miss Qing Qian here?” It was already ten o’clock, yet there was no sign of Xia Qingqian. In the past two days, she would be busy downstairs by six o’clock.

She had been waiting downstairs for quite a while, but Xia Qingqian hadn’t come down, making her wonder if her body couldn’t endure anymore and thus collapsed?

”She’s not awake yet. Is there something you need?” Beitang Yao noticed some clues from Sister Huan’s expression and gently asked.

Sister Huan sighed first, then said, ”Young Master, I’m worried Miss Qing Qian’s body can’t take it. She’s been taking care of you day and night for two days, barely eating anything...”

Listening to her, Beitang Yao’s eyes narrowed, seeming as if he didn’t understand clearly, asked in a steady voice, ”Sister Huan, what did you just say? She’s been taking care of me for two days? Wasn’t it just a moment?”

”Young Master, you initially had a cold, but the day before yesterday, after Miss Qing Qian cooked porridge for you, she found that you had a fever, a fever of 42 degrees. Fortunately, Miss Qing Qian was there to take care of you. Otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable.” Sister Huan said quietly, ”Young Master, Miss Qing Qian hasn’t eaten or drunk in the past two days while taking care of you...”

Beitang Yao’s body stiffened. He thought he was just sick for a while, but to his surprise, he had been unconscious for two days...

Moreover, last night he didn’t let her rest, knowing she was exhausted, yet he still indulged himself with her!

Thinking of this, he cursed under his breath, realizing how deeply wrong he had been!

”Sister Huan, you can leave now. She’s fine, let her sleep a bit more. Is the food ready?” His hoarse voice carried a hint of guilt and tenderness.

”Yes, Young Master.” Sister Huan unnecessarily glanced inside the room, confirming Xia Qingqian was indeed asleep.

Beitang Yao initially intended to finish the remaining work, but after hearing Sister Huan, his guilt toward Xia Qingqian deepened. How could she be so foolish, tirelessly caring for him for two days? Last night, when he made such unreasonable demands, didn’t she know how to refuse? Why did she comply...

Such a foolish woman...

It seemed like he had forced her, and it wasn’t related to her...

He walked heavily toward the bed, gently reaching out to caress her pale, tired little face. His eyes glistened, and a wave of pain surged in his heart.

”Mom, don’t leave me, please...” Xia Qingqian suddenly reached out and grasped the large hand caressing her cheek, tears gently falling from the corners of her eyes, ”Where are you, Mom...”

”Qian Qian, Qian Qian...” He furrowed his brow, calling her.

Could it be she mistook him for her mother? This woman...

”Mom... Mom...” Xia Qingqian seemed to hear someone calling her, a very gentle voice, like her mother’s. Her lips curled slightly, tightly grasping the hand she held, though the frown on her brow never faded.

Beitang Yao realized she must be having a nightmare, dreaming about her mother?

Watching the hand she gripped tightly, he couldn’t help but laugh softly, reaching out with his other hand to gently smooth the furrows on her forehead.

Two weeks later, Beitang Yao and Xia Qingqian returned to the castle.
