Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

Xia Qingqian nodded and quickly walked to the fridge. Upon opening it, she found it was filled with baking ingredients. She took the cream that Beitang Che had specified, and as she closed the fridge door, she turned around and bumped into a solid chest. A masculine scent enveloped her, causing her to instinctively step back two steps, ”Sorry! I didn’t know you were here!”

”No worries, it’s me who should apologize. Did I scare you?” Beitang Che chuckled twice, reached out to steady her shoulders to prevent her from bumping into the fridge behind her, ”Careful!”

She composed herself and tightened her grip on the cream bottle, her face somewhat awkward, repeatedly saying, ”Thank you! Thank you!”

”Are you okay?” Beitang Che asked with concern, his hands still firm on her shoulders.

Xia Qingqian shook her head, her gaze slowly drifting to her shoulders, and she moved slightly, saying, ”Young Master Che, I’m fine, but... your hands...”

She wanted him to remove his hands but didn’t know how to bring it up, so she just looked at where he was holding her, hoping he’d notice and let go.

Beitang Che realized and quickly let go, coughing lightly into his fist, ”Sorry...”

”It’s alright, does Young Master Che need anything else?” Xia Qingqian turned around too and placed the cream on the table, ”By the way, Young Master Che, what pastry are you making for grandfather this time?”

”This time, I’m making Tiramisu for grandfather. He really likes pastries, so I went abroad for specialized training and earned an international pastry master’s certificate.” Beitang Che opened the fridge and took out other ingredients, ”Actually, Yao also loves pastries. In this family, besides grandfather, Yao loves pastries the most.”

”Oh.” Xia Qingqian smiled, though bringing up Beitang Yao left her feeling sullen, ”Young Master Che, is all of Beitang Group’s business managed solely by Young Master Yao? This time with the tsunami in France causing company losses, why is only Young Master Yao handling it?”

He picked up two eggs and lightly knocked them together in the air, ”The Beitang Family’s business is all taken over by Yao; no one else has the right to intervene.”

Xia Qingqian had heard this too but never understood why Yao decided to do it this way.

”Young Master Che, actually Young Master Yao is really a good person. He may appear aloof and cold on the outside, but he’s really good!” Xia Qingqian dried the washed dishes while busily explaining about Beitang Yao, afraid others would misunderstand him.

”You know him that well?” Beitang Che paused slightly while beating the eggs but soon resumed naturally, ”Compared to Yao, we are all luckier than him. Although he finished his Ph.D. at seventeen, he never experienced a bit of fatherly love. When he was eighteen, the passing of his stepmother took away the last warmth he had!”

Xia Qingqian looked at Beitang Che in surprise, asking softly, ”Young Master Che... Are you and Young Master Yao half-brothers?”

Beitang Che nodded, ”Yao and I were born three months apart; I was only born a minute earlier. And I heard from the household servants that when our stepmother gave birth to Yao, it was a difficult labor, yet Dad never went to see her, and since Yao’s birth until now, their relationship has always been cold...”

”Qing Qian, Yao is truly pitiful. Maybe now only you can unravel the knots in his heart. I hope you can stay by his side and give him enough warmth.”
