Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

Even if what Sister Huan said is true, they merely have a host-guest relationship. Matters of the heart, in his eyes, are neither here nor there, and she doesn’t dare to hope for more.

”Listening to this, it’s no big deal. Besides, we can see that Young Master truly treats Miss Qing Qian as someone special. Only a girl like you can open his heart.” Sister Huan sighed lightly and threw the jar in her hand into the garbage bag. ”Miss Qing Qian, I’ll go take out the trash first.”

”Okay.” Xia Qingqian nodded gently, watching Sister Huan’s continuous actions.

She checked the time, it was about right. She served a large bowl of barley and lean meat porridge, then placed small side dishes on the tray. She also took an extra bowl, a teaspoon, and a pair of chopsticks.

Carefully, she opened the door, and was greeted by the sight of Beitang Yao’s bare upper body exposed to the air. Although she had seen his naked body countless times, seeing it in the early morning still made her face blush red.

She carried the tray over, gently placed it on the table, then shook her head and sighed softly, wanting to tuck the quilt snugly over him. But the place within reach was burning hot, like it was on fire!

”Ah—” she exclaimed, reaching out a hand to feel their foreheads, comparing their temperatures. The hand placed on Beitang Yao’s forehead was scorching, burning her heart!

His body temperature was terrifyingly high!

Frowning tightly, Xia Qingqian hurried downstairs, retrieved an ice pack from the refrigerator, and carefully placed it on his forehead.

”Yao, are you feeling any better?” Xia Qingqian came back from the bathroom with a basin of warm water, wrung out a towel, and wiped his upper body.

In a daze, Beitang Yao suddenly felt a cool sensation on his forehead, alleviating much of the heat. He sensed someone tending to him, wiping his body, and continuously changing the ice pack. He tried to open his eyes, but they felt too heavy, so he could only groan a few times before sinking back into deep sleep. However, he was quite aware that the woman was right beside him, taking care of him.

Xia Qingqian had already replaced the ice pack for the third time, but his temperature was still scorching enough to be alarming, and even the porridge she brought up had cooled down.

She should have checked his temperature when she got up. How could she be so careless? Why didn’t she pay more attention?

From the cupboard, she took out two quilts and wrapped Beitang Yao tightly, hoping that sweating it out from the fever would work on him!

”Ye Feng, are you back now? Young Master has a fever; come back and check on him.” In desperation, Xia Qingqian called Ye Feng, who Sister Huan had told her was out running errands.

She knew it must be important errands for Young Master, but nothing is more important than Young Master’s health, and Ye Feng knew this too. Thus, he arrived within ten minutes after receiving the call.

Ye Feng administered a fever-reducing injection to Beitang Yao, slowly tidied up the medicine kit, and sighed darkly, ”Miss Xia, thank goodness for you. If not, Young Master would really be in trouble!”

Hearing Ye Feng’s words, Xia Qingqian felt even more guilty. She sat at the bedside, gently placing Beitang Yao’s hand left outside on the quilt back under the covers.

”Ye Feng, didn’t Young Master get an IV drip yesterday? Why is he running a fever today? Could it be as Sister Huan said; when he falls ill, things become unimaginable? Is it really that serious?”
