Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

”Don’t scare yourself! It’s just sleep deprivation causing it. When I lack sleep, my eyelids twitch constantly too; nothing happened to me,” Beitang Huan chuckled, shaking his head.

”No, when my eyelid twitches, my heart starts pounding at the thought of Yao!” Xia Qingqian said, pulling Beitang Huan’s hand to her chest, ”Do you feel it? This isn’t a normal heartbeat...”

Beitang Huan quickly pulled back his hand, ”Qian Qian, you’re overthinking!”

”I wish I were overthinking, but Yao said he would call me daily, and now even Ye Feng hasn’t called home. Do you think something happened? The tsunami has passed, but the situation must not be optimistic.” Xia Qingqian anxiously took out her phone, ”No matter what, I’m calling him this time!”

Beitang Huan was actually a bit worried too. After all, Brother Yao promised to call before he left, and now he hasn’t contacted anyone.

Xia Qingqian put the phone to her ear and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, looking outside, feeling inexplicably anxious and more uneasy.

However, after calling three times, the same message echoed from the phone: ”Sorry, the number you have dialed is turned off, please try again later.”

She turned around to Beitang Huan and said, ”What should I do? Yao’s phone is off.”

”Call Ye Feng!” Beitang Huan took Xia Qingqian’s phone, dialed a string of numbers, and handed it back to her: ”This is Ye Feng’s number.”

Xia Qingqian took the phone again, the dial tone started, and after a while, someone finally answered. Xia Qingqian didn’t give the other party a chance to speak, ”Ye Feng, it’s Xia Qingqian, is Yao there?”

The other end of the line was silent.

”Miss Xia, why are you only calling me now? You saw the message yesterday, why didn’t you call Young Master?” Ye Feng’s frustrated voice echoed from the phone.

Xia Qingqian was stunned immediately. Yesterday, she hadn’t received any calls or messages from anyone! What was going on?

”Ye Feng, did something happen to Young Master?” Xia Qingqian’s voice choked up, her soft little hand tightly gripping the phone.

”Our return will be delayed for a few days; Young Master is now in the hospital,” Ye Feng was anxious for Young Master too. Young Master is lying in the hospital, hooked up to an IV drip and working: ”Miss Qing Qian, Young Master is treating one day like three to return early. Just as he caught type A influenza, no amount of persuasion from the doctor helps.”

”Ye Feng, give the phone to Young Master!” Xia Qingqian’s heart trembled upon hearing he was working while on a drip. He was doing this just to come back early...

Thinking about it made her heart nearly stop.

”Miss Qing Qian, Young Master has finally fallen asleep; I can’t bear to wake him. I’ll call you when he wakes up, so let’s leave it at that...” Ye Feng said and hung up, looking back at the exhausted Young Master lying on the bed, his heart aching.

Yesterday, if Xia Qingqian had called in time, Young Master wouldn’t have suffered like this!

”Qian Qian, what’s wrong? Did something really happen to Brother Yao?” Beitang Huan asked worriedly, seeing Xia Qingqian in such a daze: ”Qian Qian, what did Ye Feng say?”
