The Urban Medical Martial Immortal

Capítulo 1234: Chapter 1227: Floating Corpses

Youzi Mountain.

Halfway up the mountain, the dense forest road was rarely frequented by people.

The surroundings were damp and dark, with white cloth hanging from trees, yellow paper scattered on the ground, and coffin wood seen everywhere.

The eerie and horrifying scene turned Xiao Feiyuan’s face pale with fright.

“Senior Sister Lu… this… are you sure this is Youzi Mountain and not the Chaotic Tomb Mound?”

Xiao Feiyuan involuntarily stepped back in fear, standing behind Lin Tian, and said with a trembling voice to Lu Jie.

Lin Tian also furrowed his brows, his gaze falling on Lu Jie with an inquisitive look.

At this moment.

Lu Jie’s face was also somewhat unnatural.

But it was only unnaturalness, she showed no trace of fear at the scene, seemingly already accustomed to it.

Behind them, Zhang Hu and Shen Gaiyun just chuckled and shook their heads, looking at Xiao Feiyuan’s out-of-form expression with disdain.

“This is indeed Youzi Mountain, and as for what you see here, they’ve been like this for years. We’ve passed by during our spring and autumn outings before and have become accustomed to it!”

Lu Jie glanced around, took a deep breath, and explained to Lin Tian and Xiao Feiyuan, “It’s said that in the past, a Feng Shui Master came to see this place and remarked that the Fengshui layout wasn’t good, and the graves needed relocation. Moreover, the government doesn’t allow building cemeteries on city mountains, thus many have been relocated. However, according to the Fengshui Master and the Taoist practitioner, the relocation required rituals, and the Earth Dragon graves couldn’t be re-buried, which is why so many coffin woods are exposed. As for the white cloth and yellow paper, they were left from the rituals!”

Hearing this, Xiao Feiyuan’s complexion slightly improved.

Lin Tian then nodded with a smile.

All the talk about Fengshui Earth Dragons and Taoist rituals is nonsense!

However.

From afar, Youzi Mountain appeared to have good terrain, with a large river winding around it, providing a very nice environment.

But upon reaching here, it could be seen that the entire Youzi Mountain ridge had a yin-oriented terrain, truly not ideal.

At least, if Lin Tian were to choose a place to build his Cultivation Cave Mansion, he would definitely not choose here, as it is not a gathering place of Spiritual Energy, plus the environment is too damp.

“Senior Sister Lu, it almost scared the crap out of me!”

Xiao Feiyuan patted his chest, exhaling heavily.

“When I first came here, I was more frightened than you, and those two weren’t much better!”

Lu Jie pointed to Zhang Hu and Shen Gaiyun and laughed, then continued walking, “Youzi Forest is in the middle of the mountain range ahead, in a relatively flat area near the tributary of Liuu Fang River’s Que River bank. It’s about ten minutes more to go!”

The five of them continued on.

Soon, they descended the gentle slope of the mountain ridge, and looking ahead, they could see a very large Youzi Forest by the Que River bank below.

However, these pomelo trees were quite peculiar, only about as tall as a person, and some sparse leaves on top were even seven-colored!

“It seems no one else has come yet, so early, and some people are very afraid to walk that section of the road!”

Lu Jie led the group to the front of the Youzi Forest, pointing to the seven-colored leaves on the trees, “These are the leaves, pick a few more pieces!”

The pomelo trees were not high, and by tiptoeing, reaching up, they could easily be picked.

The seven-colored leaves were very peculiar, prompting Lin Tian to take a walk around the pomelo forest, discovering that there was a faint trace of Spiritual Energy swirling inside, clicking his tongue in wonder.

But since they were here, they couldn’t leave empty-handed, so Lin Tian subsequently plucked two pomelo tree leaves and put them in his pocket.

These leaves were probably referred to by the students at the college as Grapefruit Talismans!

The so-called evil-warding and misfortune-avoiding, Lin Tian thought it was all just nonsense, just a way to seek psychological comfort.

“Let’s rest by the river for a while, then head back!”

The five gathered their leaves, and Lu Jie turned back and suggested to the group.

But as she finished her sentence.

A loud engine sound came from the Que River above.

The engine sound was from a ship, coming from the opposite side, moving precisely towards them, getting closer and closer.

Looking from here, one could see the opposite side of Que River was also a series of mountain ranges.

But by the riverbank, there was a riverside Bin River road, where a small patch of riverfront villas was visible.

And the ship was coming from there.

The ship soon reached the shore, and four burly men appeared on the deck, with somewhat fierce looks, giving an impression of oppression.

Following these four men, an old man with graying hair, wearing a tightly fitted martial arts uniform, stepped out.

“Have you confirmed the location of the Wuming corpse?”

The old man glanced at the Que River surface and asked the four men.

“Mr. Jin, it’s been confirmed, right at this position ahead, we can salvage it by going down! But why hasn’t the person in charge of Ping Mountain Hospital come yet?”

Someone among the four men hurriedly responded to the old man, at the same time saying, “Back upstream, that Wuming corpse was a floating corpse, and with a little effort, it was made a sunk corpse, if Ping Mountain Hospital wants the corpse, at least they’ll have to double the price! Just like selling the corpse to Yanjing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine for dissection before, that’s how we did it!”

“Well done! We’re making money off the dead, shortening our lives, so we have to be ruthless and feast them to death!”

The old man with graying hair nodded satisfactorily, smirking evilly.

“Mr. Jin is absolutely right!”

The large man hurriedly accompanied with a smile, said, “But Mr. Jin, that mother and daughter requested our help again today to salvage the body, offering to add a thousand!”

“Adding a thousand could even suggest itself? Hmph, not without ten thousand, just keep them hanging!”

The old man called Mr. Jin showed a sinister expression, saying, “Since that male body is already sunk with iron chains at the river bottom, they will have the body when they gather enough money! Otherwise, it will just keep soaking!”

“Mr. Jin is wise!”

The few burly men immediately responded respectfully.

And throughout this conversation, those hiding in the pomelo forest, Lin Tian and others, heard every word clearly.

Lu Jie and Xiao Feiyuan, along with the others, turned pale.

“These people are specialists in body retrieval, but this kind of corpse extortion, it’s just… utterly heartless!”

Xiao Feiyuan sharply inhaled, commenting in a low voice.

Lu Jie, Zhang Hu, Shen Gaiyun, and the three others nodded in agreement, faces grim.

These individuals had their consciences devoured by dogs!

This was the most ruthless thing they had ever seen!

However, Lin Tian remained expressionless after hearing the conversation of the old man and others, for he’d witnessed many more brutal events in the Cultivation World, and was used to it.

At this moment, one of the burly men spoke again.

“Mr. Jin, since we are keeping that mother and daughter waiting, should we create some business?”

The man had a sinister look on his face, coldly suggesting, “During the summer vacation, we were missing a huge income source, but now that many medical colleges in Yanjing have opened, it’s the peak season! How about we…”

At this, the man used his hand to mimic a slashing motion across his neck.

“You mean to create some floating corpses from living people?”

Mr. Jin raised an eyebrow, looking over to ask.

“Mr. Jin, we’ve done this kind of thing many times, rest assured there won’t be mistakes!”

The man said in a low voice, “After all, every year, it’s not uncommon for some dusty women or university students to go missing in the Yanjing Territory, as long as it’s done secretly, it can’t be traced! ‘Creating’ Wuming floating corpses, then selling the floating corpses, making a huge profit!”

…

The subsequent conversation was also heard with crystal clarity by the few people in the pomelo forest, sending a chilling shiver up the spines of Xiao Feiyuan, Lu Jie, Zhang Hu, and Shen Gaiyun, making them quiver and their hearts pound in fear.
