I AM the Football Star

Chapter 547: Chapter 148: Italy Eliminated, There Was Never Lu in This World!

But all of this... is also everything Lu Yang is willing to undertake.

He never regrets his choices, and he takes responsibility for everything he does.

A few days later, the seventh round of Serie B began.

This round of matches received attention from all over Italy.

Everyone was watching the match between San Remo and Cremona.

No exaggeration, this was the most attention Cremona had ever received for a match.

And the result... was not unexpected.

Cremona, a mid-table team in Serie B, could not stop San Remo’s march to victory.

After being held to a draw by Monza in the fifth round, San Remo completed two consecutive victories, crushing Cremona 4-1.

In this match, Sogel made one assist and one goal.

He received a cross from Canyes and scored, then delivered a return pass to Lu Yang in the penalty area, assisting Lu’s long-range goal.

Canyes got an assist.

Substitute Versachi scored with a long-range shot, after Lu Yang cut inside to draw defenders and passed to the advancing Versachi.

Lu Yang scored two goals and made one assist!

Aside from the goal from Sogel’s pass, Lu Yang, during a press on the opponent’s center-back, used a feint to fool Cremona’s center-back.

Lu Yang repeatedly ran contrary to the defender’s predictions, then anticipated the center-back’s pass, intercepted it, and immediately dribbled into the penalty area.

The opposing center-back attempted to put pressure on Lu Yang in the penalty area, but it did not affect Lu’s blazing touch.

Up to now, Lu Yang has played seven matches and scored thirteen goals!

The efficiency is astounding!

What does it mean to have a big heart?

This is what it means to have a big heart!

The more critical the match, the better the performance.

Although this match had no impact on league standings or championship contention, it might be the most watched match in Serie B.

This concerns everyone’s expectations for Lu Yang and whether or not he will appear in the next Italy National Team roster.

Such stress is imaginable.

And Lu Yang, bore all the pressure.

Isn’t such a player precisely what Italy lacks the most?

This quality might be expected in veterans over thirty, but in a young player not yet twenty, it truly is a gift from above.

Look at Greenwood at Manchester United; he might also be a prodigy shaping up to be a superstar, right?

At least in the eyes of Manchester United fans.

But in the match where the England National Team coach watched live, he blew it!

That match was of profound significance not only to him but also to Manchester United.

After that match, Greenwood’s ranking in the England coach’s roster fell at least three spots!

Simultaneously, he caused Manchester United’s first large-scale dissatisfaction of the new season, creating major troubles internally and externally for Manchester United, severely affecting team morale.

The subsequent issues and conflicts have not been fully resolved even after a month.

It cannot be said that all of this was Greenwood’s fault, but it exemplifies a young player failing to withstand immense pressure and make the right and outstanding choices.

And such a situation is unlikely to happen with Lu Yang.

After this match, the public opinion in Italy became nearly unanimous.

Everyone hoped that Vincent would include this goal-scoring prodigy in the playoffs.

”I can think of no reason not to take Lu Yang! He is precisely the puzzle piece Italy needs!”

”Regarding Italy’s qualification for the European Cup, anything can be compromised. Moreover, I believe there’s nothing wrong with an Italian-born foreigner loving their homeland deeply!”

”I am a fan from Taormina. My hometown is small and has no team. If a Taormina native joins a big team and can raise Taormina’s flag alongside a big team’s flag during a championship celebration, I would only be proud of him!”

”Raising the Chinese flag or the Italian flag is a personal choice for the player, it is Lu’s freedom! We should not interfere, just as we pride ourselves on being a free country!”

”If I were Lu, I might not make the same choice as him. But that is definitely not because I don’t want to, but simply because I would not dare! And perhaps that is why Lu keeps succeeding.”

”As long as the trophy belongs to Italy, I am willing to cheer for Lu and the red flag he bears!”

What is meant by freedom of speech?

It’s that as long as you have a trend in your interest, you can change what you’ve said as you please.

The moment Lu Yang became the savior of this aging Italy Team, all past dissatisfaction directed at him vanished.

Those who once criticized Lu Yang changed their stance and expressed support for him.

Those who claimed Lu Yang had touched the bottom line of Italians have lowered their bottom line further, just to cater to Lu Yang and the vast number of fans hoping to see him on the Italy National Team.

Such audacity is something that pure and honest people from the East cannot easily grasp in a short period.

And it is not a culture that traditional Chinese values are willing to embrace.

...

Under such public opinion, the Torino Sports Paper, which originally intended to slowly lower Lu Yang’s ranking in the Golden Boy Award, temporarily dared not take action.

In fact, after careful consideration, they did not go against the popular will in Italy but instead raised Lu Yang’s position by one spot.

Of course, there is a reason for doing so.

Because in the eyes of the Torino Sports Paper, this year’s Golden Boy Award winner has already emerged in advance.
