I AM the Football Star

Chapter 541: Chapter 147: Promoted Team’s Rookie Wall, A Desperate Turning Point for the National Team? (Part 3)

This is clearly the head coach’s problem!

And then there’s Prince Zebra, Ancelotti, coming back from injury, yet clearly not fully recovered. Why insist on starting him under these circumstances?

Are you taking Milan City’s money to deliberately waste Ancelotti?

Obviously, Ancelotti is holding back this match, and his play style is leaning towards a shadow striker, leaving Perrotta to face the opponent’s defense alone at the front, clearly lacking manpower in attack.

Wouldn’t it be better to bring in Sevajos or Pompey?

Also, the Italy Team’s midfield, the root of the weak attack lies in a weak midfield.

Though Drake is a veteran and a substitute, he is currently indispensable in the Italy Team’s defensive system.

The fact that Italy didn’t concede after Drake came on proves this.

Not starting Drake means you want to compete offensively with the opponent, and yet you didn’t win the offensive battle.

When trailing in the match, you then bring on the defensive stalwart Drake.

Although Drake eventually did create a goal opportunity, that was purely coincidental.

Tactically speaking, these arrangements are completely contradictory, a complete mess!

In this case, winning a game by luck, saying so to the media is fine, but saying the same to the players is problematic.

Don’t the players know they played like crap?

How many of those in the national team are mediocre?

They know very well how they performed themselves.

Only kids are pacified with a sentence like, ”We’re good, we will win.”

Adults need something like, ”We had some issues this match, we need to solve them, next we will...” to truly calm down.

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

Vincent is too credulous about luck.

With such an Italy Team in the next match, how do they expect to win?

To win, you bloody well need to score!

Do you know you’re currently ”powerless in attack”?

Do you expect two defenders and a defensive midfielder to score?

”Maniero, I know you’re strategic, but I have my arrangements.” Vincent was full of vigilance, ”I promised you, I would take Lu Yang with me to next year’s European Cup, you can’t ask for more!”

Maniero was at a loss for words.

Alright!

You’re as stubborn as a mule!

You have guts!

”Then good luck to you!” Maniero looked out of the window, reluctant to continue communicating with Vincent.

To suppress public opinion, Vincent invited Maniero to join the coaching staff.

But he really just intended to deal with the public, he hasn’t let Maniero be involved in any team-related matters.

This vigilance made Maniero look down on him even more.

Those who cannot tolerate others, cannot be capable of many things.

Because if you’re strong enough, you don’t need to worry about others replacing you.

...

October 12th, the sixth round of Serie B.

San Remo hosts last season’s Serie A team, Vicenza, at home.

As the opponent is strong enough, to err on the side of caution, Sotu still deployed their current favored 433 formation when facing strong teams.

But because Latu Yidi and Bernulin were called up by the national team, today’s starting lineup is:

Bai Zhami, Sogel, Lu Yang

Versachi, Lam, Morici

Camihong, Palacios, Naji, Canyes

Areola

This season, Lu Yang has appeared more on the front line.

On one hand, San Remo’s attacking lineup is not yet strong enough.

On the other, it’s because Lu Yang has shown more forward talent.

His inside cut is quite threatening.

Once the match started, Lu Yang and Canyes did a flank combination.

Finally, Canyes crossed the ball, but Sogel headed it wide, missing the goal.

Conversely, Vicenza also launched a threatening attack.

Their flank player cut inside strongly, easily getting past Camihong.

Lam was positioned too firmly, failing to move in time, exposing an opening at the ribs.

Palacios was too slow to intervene, giving the opposing winger a chance for a long shot from outside the penalty area.

Fortunately, Areola was focused enough to successfully push the ball out for a corner.

From the corner kick, they flicked on a header at the near post.

In the chaos, the towering Naji headed the ball out of the penalty area.

Outside the penalty box, the opponent took another long shot, which Lam blocked with his body.

Canyes on the right wing took the first bounce and sprinted with the ball.

Lu Yang followed closely.

Canyes feigned a cut inside, but actually went to the byline.

After reaching the baseline, he made a cut-back pass, and Lu Yang, facing the opposing defenders, cleverly let the ball pass.

Versachi, who caught up, took a long shot.

Bang!

Versachi’s luck was slightly lacking, hitting the post, and the ball bounced out of play.

This series of attacks was exceptionally brilliant, both sides exhibited a strong desire to win.

This is the clash of strong teams.

At the end of the season, these clashes will become more intense, as everyone wants a spot to promote to Serie A.

”Bai Zhami, you should be running to the far post at this time.” Lu Yang communicated with Bai Zhami at the front, pointing to the penalty area, ”Sogel and I, or even Morici, will always threaten the box.”

”But over there, the far post is your position.”

”Remember our previous individual training? Run back from an offside position, or hold your speed a bit, follow behind the opposing defenders.”

”When we charge in, there’s a chance they’ll abandon you to break out. At that time, you’ll be completely free at the far post!”

Bai Zhami nodded. For a player like him, you can’t give him too much freedom. You have to tell him what each run should be about.
