I AM the Football Star

Chapter 529: Chapter 144: Europa League Debut, Little Bald Baby_3

Therefore, the locals of Ness are extremely familiar with San Remo.

Moreover, Ligue 1 and France as a whole have implemented a strategy of recruiting black players. Regardless of right or wrong, this approach is somewhat resisted by the locals.

Most players in the Nice Team are black players.

While they are certainly excellent, they also squeeze out many opportunities for local youth white players to advance, complicating the locals’ feelings towards the Nice Team.

They support Ness, but not all the players of Ness. Even the team’s current brightest star, Hassim Boe, faces strict scrutiny due to the issue of skin color.

Therefore, on one hand, they hope Ness achieves good results, but on the other, they don’t want Ness’s black players to steal the spotlight.

Thus, they go so far as to praise a San Remo team, praise Italians, praise the Chinese... Anyone will do, as long as they’re not black.

This enraged the team’s superstar, Boe.

”Those idiots! I absolutely can’t stand this city anymore!” Boe complained to his teammate Engel Cainte, who shares the same skin color, ”I’m leaving here! This is my last season here!”

Cainte wasn’t surprised because he faced the same treatment as Boe, if not worse.

After all, Boe is a superstar, while Cainte is just a regular midfield worker.

He was even only 1.68 meters tall, which nearly made him insulated from football.

Ness kept him in the end, solely because he was very willing to run.

The importance of running is not directly apparent at the top leagues.

On the contrary, running can often change the dynamics of a match in lower leagues.

And Ligue 1, although one of the Five Major Leagues, is similar to Bundesliga, where apart from a few teams, most teams don’t reach the top league standards.

The margin is thin.

A lot of young players are in these two leagues, and the match environment is suitable for talented players to shine brightly.

”Then you must grasp this season well, achieve great results, and let more teams pay transfer fees for you.” Cainte pursed his lips; he truly wanted to leave here.

”Already have!” Boe smiled and whispered, ”Lyon contacted me this summer.”

Cainte was shocked!

One of the two super clubs of Ligue 1, Lyon?

Like Bayern’s unparalleled dominance in Bundesliga, in Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon are two undisputed powerhouses, a notch above other teams, and are considered French Super League teams!

Teams like Marseille, Monaco, Lille, etc., can only threaten them briefly, but have never toppled these two mountains.

Almost all of the two annual Champions League spots of Ligue 1 are monopolized by them.

”Then why aren’t you going this season?” Cainte wondered.

Boe’s smile froze without further explanation.

Of course, it’s because the whole France Youth National Team didn’t perform well in this year’s European Youth Championship, so Lyon hesitated and decided to assess Boe a bit more.

This was also the reason Boe lashed out at the Italy Team after the European Youth Championship.

Because he received a notification from his agent at the time, saying he couldn’t go to Lyon temporarily.

For heaven’s sake!

The most absurd part is that Lyon reportedly wants to evaluate Italy’s Morici and Lu Yang.

Those are two midfielders!

Because they are evaluating two midfielders, temporarily abandoning a forward. Tell me, who is this insulting?

...

The Europa League group match of Nice VS San Remo was soon scheduled.

September 18th.

Allianz Riviera.

Ness will host San Remo.

In this match, both teams employed a 433 formation.

San Remo’s starting lineup used a classic formation.

Bai Zhami, Sogel, Fernandez

Lu Yang, Morici

Latu Yidi

Camihong, Bernulin, Palacios, Canyes

Areola

As soon as the game started, Ness displayed characteristics of a Ligue 1 team.

Big actions!

Unlike the fierce confrontation resulting from the fast pace of the Premier League, Ligue 1 teams simply have large movements, which can be seen as dirty.

Imagine Sisi in Ligue 1 matches, trying to fall is damn hard because the opponent not only pulls you down but brings you up again, this one-stop service is truly admirable.

In such a situation, Lu Yang stopped playing as an attacking midfielder, quickly moved to the defensive midfield position, and stabilized the situation with Latu Yidi first.

From the backfield, Lu Yang saw the situation more clearly.

Soon he realized today’s match is a tough battle!

”Oh no, lost the ball again! Morici’s state today is bad, until now, he hasn’t fulfilled the task of stabilizing the midfield, making it difficult for San Remo’s football to reach the front field.” The commentator constantly spoke.

His description was correct, but his reason was mistaken.

Today San Remo’s attack wasn’t opening because Morici’s condition was bad.

But because... Over there on Ness’s side, there is someone disrupting the control ecology established by Morici.

The linkage of a core player can make the team’s conduction orderly.

This requires very high demands on the core player; he needs to judge his passing point instantly and perform a receiving environment quality analysis. Otherwise, if the football passes out, it won’t return.

However, today, on Ness’s side, a smaller guy than Morici literally messed up Morici’s layout.
