I AM the Football Star

Chapter 468: Chapter 129: Clash of the Titans, King Faces King (Part 2)

”Two to zero! With less than twenty minutes into the game, Italy leads Spain two to zero! This is definitely a score that no one anticipated before the match!”

”Lu Yang scores twice! He is Italy’s hero!”

”Eight goals! Lu Yang has surpassed Enriquez in the top scorer list! He is now the top scorer in the European Youth Championship!”

”Oh, we can see Lu Yang giving a military salute, is he a soldier? No, so are there some very important soldiers present today?”

The commentators are confused, they don’t know that today in the VIP box, there indeed is an old soldier.

Watching Lu Yang saluting, Enriquez’s brows furrowed, his pupils contracted infinitely.

He felt the heavy burden of responsibility on himself.

In Europe, playing football well could possibly earn you knight, baron, viscount, and other noble titles.

Although in modern countries, these noble titles no longer have practical significance.

But it is still a glory that ordinary people can hardly achieve!

Enriquez dreams of becoming a knight.

But the premise is that he can bring Spain one international championship trophy after another!

Five minutes later, Enriquez proved that he has abilities not inferior to Sevajos.

Relying on his teammates’ passing, Enriquez got a very good opportunity to hold the ball in the middle.

He didn’t rashly shoot from a distance, but brought the ball to actively approach Cortino.

Cortino returned from suspension, also unafraid.

However, Enriquez is ranked higher than Mancini in the Golden Boy Award list.

His speed may not be as fast as Mancini’s, but his dribbling skills are no weaker than Mancini’s.

After about three fakes, Cortino was defeated, overtaken by Enriquez.

Lam rushed over in time, but Enriquez seemed to have anticipated it, tilting his body to the right, his right foot crossing in front of his left foot, forming a passing posture but actually flicking the ball with the outside of his foot and completing a sudden acceleration.

The football passed between Lam’s legs, and Enriquez flashed past him.

Bam!

After passing Lam, Enriquez didn’t hesitate, striking a powerful shot.

Areola tried his best to save, but this shot was aimed at the corner, leaving Areola out of reach.

One to two!

Spain pulls one back!

Enriquez jumped up on the spot, raising his right fist high.

This goal was full of momentum for the whole of Spain.

Spain playing football never fears not scoring, because they will score sooner or later.

But when the first goal comes is crucial, because once the first goal comes, the following goals won’t be far away.

”Wow! Enriquez once again performed a solo assault!”

”Eight goals! Enriquez is so strong! He caught up with Lu Yang, tying him at the top of the European Youth Championship’s top scorer list!”

”He’s opened the scoring account for Spain!”

”His impact shown recently is no less than Mancini’s!”

”In fact, since the last match of the group stage, Enriquez has undergone a noticeable change. His playing style has become more aggressive, which is exactly what the Spain U-21 National Team needs!”

”In a passing and controlling team, the most indispensable players aren’t the passing and controlling brains, but the attackers and lethal finishers! Enriquez serves both roles!”

After Iniesta and Neymar left, Barcelona’s Messi in fact also played both roles, but one can’t be in two places at once. He is indeed stronger than both roles, but still cannot completely compensate for their departures.

...

”Our side defense pressure is immense today.” Morici found Lu Yang, ”They are constantly pulling both sides, and the players on both sides cannot relax even a bit. Our center will also be pulled apart, leading to vulnerabilities.”

”Theoretically, this is an unsolvable problem.”

Lu Yang nodded and said: ”Do you know the Achilles’ heel of passing and controlling teams?”

Morici squinted his eyes and hesitated, saying: ”You mean...the defensive midfielder?”

Lu Yang said: ”Yes! To achieve passing control, their defensive midfielder cannot be like ordinary teams, focusing on destruction and big clearances.”

”Their defensive midfielder must take on the role of connecting the midfield and the backfield, often holding the ball and keeping the ball securely, possessing dribbling and escaping ability, and sometimes even deliberately holding the ball for a time to draw attention so that other passing and controlling teammates have time for movement.”

”Theoretically, this position is one of their communication hubs. Once this player is missing, their transition and control don’t flow smoothly, control is greatly weakened, making them no different from an ordinary team.”

”No, considering the technical players of passing and controlling teams aren’t usually tall, without their system, their long-range passing is weaker than ordinary teams.”

Morici’s eyes flashed with insight: ”You mean we should raid him? Making him lose the role of the communication hub?”

Lu Yang patted Morici on the head: ”Silly boy, I mean you need to find a way to steal the ball from their defensive midfielder, like you did to Melcan last match.”

Raiding?

Raiding the ball at the feet of passing and controlling team players is definitely the most counterproductive tactical choice.

Especially the communication hub?

Communication hub means it can connect multiple targets.

If you can siege even the defensive midfielder, it means you’ve invested too many forces in their half, allowing them to utilize their numerical advantage for a strong offensive in your half anytime.
