I AM the Football Star

Chapter 464: Chapter 128: Does Lu Only Target His Own People? (Part 2)

This... shouldn’t it be considered a Superstar Skill?

Bergkamp’s split between man and ball was simply a work of art.

To be fair, although Lu Yang performed C Luo’s classic moment of splitting the ball and dribbling during the match against England.

But everyone who watched that match knows that C Luo’s heel flick was full of surprises.

Judging from C Luo’s own reaction, he anticipated this move, but he used a bit too much power in the flick.

Additionally, during the subsequent ball control, C Luo made a noticeable error, allowing Pique time to reposition himself defensively.

Yet, blessed with the aura of a football king and C Luo’s profound shooting skills, he managed to shoot the ball, hitting the goalie’s heel and nutmegged into the net, creating this classic scene.

It can be said that this goal is inimitable because it involves too many coincidences.

But Bergkamp is different.

Bergkamp’s splits between man and ball can be replicated, as it’s a form of control unique to him.

Just like Neymar’s every dribble is like dancing on a knife’s edge, creating breathtaking scenes but with unknown results, even Neymar himself doesn’t know if the ball will remain at his feet after dribbling.

Meanwhile, Messi’s dribbling is largely about absolute control of the ball; whether or not he gets past the defender, the ball is always at his feet.

This is different football artistry.

Influenced by this, Lu Yang’s attributes changed.

Offensive Positioning 82-83

Tight Ball Control 80-81

At the same time, he increased his curvature from 78 to 80.

By this point, Lu Yang had definitely reached a star level.

However, the system cannot update in real-time; updates occur only after the season ends, so his star barrier still exists, with 85 remaining the limit for all his abilities.

Considering that next season they are playing in Serie B, Lu Yang is fairly accepting of this.

Taking this opportunity to comprehensively strengthen himself isn’t a bad thing.

If the foundation is unstable, everything will shake!

There’s still time to excel when entering Serie A next season.

After all, his current defensive skills may hold up in Serie B, but in Serie A, they might leave him struggling.

As quoted in the Republican Newspaper, the gap between the Five Major Leagues and other leagues is insurmountable.

Beep beep beep!

Lu Yang’s phone rang.

”Hey, Lu Yang, we’ve arrived in Berlin and are on the way to the hotel now.” Tang Yuqin’s voice sounded.

”Okay, I’ll head over immediately.” Lu Yang replied.

Then, Lu Yang tidied his appearance a bit and called out, ”Sofia, are you ready? We need to leave.”

”Of course, I’ll be very presentable.” Sofia assured, knowing the importance of this invitation, choosing an elegant yet conservative black gown.

Soon, Lu Yang and Sofia left the hotel where their team was staying.

Half an hour later, in a certain prestigious hotel suite, Lu Yang and Sofia knocked on the door.

All the exits on this floor were guarded by men dressed in black suits, reminiscent of Zhongshan suits.

The people in the room were of unquestionable prestige.

”You’re here? Grandpa, let me introduce you, this is Lu Yang, and this is Sofia...” Tang Yuqin, understanding what she needed to do at this time, said smartly.

In a family like this, the girls always know the rules.

Rules, although they seem like restraints.

Yet, when relationships haven’t reached that level, they become a way both parties can feel free, respected, and natural.

”Hello, young man, I’m your fan.” The elder humorously extended his hand.

His hair was fully white, yet not disorderly.

He was quite old, over eighty.

Tang Yuqin likely wasn’t the eldest of his grandchildren, and it’s been said that among his grandchildren, some have reached significant official positions!

”I’m also a fan of yours!” Lu Yang responded in fluent Mandarin, bowing slightly while shaking hands with the elder.

People often say football is modern-day warfare.

In a sense, a star player is also a kind of war hero.

But this elder is a real war hero!

”Don’t insult me; I know that in your football world, ’fanatic’ is a derogatory term.” The elder replied, showing that he was quite adept in football knowledge.

Lu Yang smiled and said: ”Don’t say that; a team fan isn’t more noble than a fanatic, and even a team fan might start from liking a player, isn’t that right, Manchester United leader? Moreover, in modern commercial football, a team fan is far more pitiful than a fanatic.”

”A fanatic might admire certain spiritual qualities of a star player, such as the never-give-up attitude, while a team fan admires the spiritual qualities of certain teams, like you’ll never walk alone.”

”But the will qualities of a star player truly exist, whereas the will qualities of a club can greatly change with the personnel in power.”

”So, many team fans support a main team that long vanished, only they either don’t know it or aren’t willing to admit it!”

”From this perspective, I’d rather be a fanatic. If the star player I like no longer strives to win or no longer respects my hometown, even if it pains me, I would stop being their fan at once.”

”But if I were a team fan, I would think it’s just certain people’s issue, not the team I love itself. I would therefore tolerate all of their mistakes, becoming their puppet to be controlled. Actually, this is a way of evading the harsh reality.”
