I AM the Football Star

Chapter 466: Chapter 128: Do I, Lu, Only Target My Own People? (Part 4)

You know, Mancini was kicked out of the European Youth Championship by Lu Yang himself!

Not saying top three, but can’t you at least give Lu a top ten spot?

There’s also Melcan and Pavovsky, both top ten level.

So you’re putting Lu at twentieth or something?

Don’t forget, the Golden Boy Award is selected by Italian media!

Is Torino Sports Paper even doing its job?

Lu Yang scored sixty goals in a single season and still didn’t move your stone-cold hearts?

Do you really think the Italian Third Division isn’t a football league?

Why don’t you go score sixty goals there and see for yourself?

Even Sevajos posted a question mark on social media after seeing the Golden Boy Award rankings.

Lu Bro is twenty-fifth, and Little Se is ninth, are you messing with me?

This blame, Little Se won’t bear!

After seeing Sevajos’ post, Lu Yang nodded with satisfaction. Little Se is a good one; the kid can be trusted, and his future stardom prospects are promising!

The Golden Boy Award organizers were absolutely bewildered.

This year is definitely the most difficult year since their award was established.

Initially, due to stance reasons, they decisively stood opposite Martivini.

Because of this, Lu Yang was not highly regarded.

But later, Lu Yang put up terrifying stats in the Italian Third Division, forcing them to rank him in the top hundred.

Now, Lu Yang went on a rampage in the European Youth Championship, with his ranking skyrocketing.

Remember, they previously said Lu Yang wouldn’t win the Golden Boy Award anyway.

But if... Lu Yang really beats up the first two contenders for the Golden Boy Award, no matter how scientific your model is to analyze and prove that they’re more qualified than Lu Yang, fans can choose to ignore it.

No clear first in literary, no second in martial.

Most of the time, football award evaluations are less controversial.

The more controversial ones are of the kind where it doesn’t matter who gets it.

If Lu Yang defeats Mancini and Enriquez consecutively, the award will become that kind of situation.

Give it to Lu Yang because his National Youth Team stats are unbeatable.

But award it to Enriquez and Mancini because they’ve been famous for a long time, have high popularity, and possess outstanding stats and records from higher-level competitions, with an advantage in clubs.

So, despite all of Italy supporting the National Youth Team, Torino Sports Paper truly wishes for Italy to lose completely.

In this way, this year’s Golden Boy is clear, Enriquez, without controversy.

How great!

But this notion of the Torino Sports Paper was shattered on July 29th, in the first minute of the European Youth Championship final!

Berlin Olympic Stadium.

Spain VS Italy.

Thirty-seven seconds into the match, after receiving a back pass from Sogel, Lu Yang dribbled horizontally near the midfield line, seized the opportunity for a shot from the center circle, catching the Spanish goalkeeper off guard.

One to zero!

Italy National Youth Team with a dream start, enters with a one-to-zero lead!

The entire stadium was silent for a few seconds, then it exploded, and cheers echoed to the sky.

”LU LU LU!”

This synchronized cheering sounds like the start of the League of Legends S Series Finals to those who don’t know.

Given that the history of the European Youth Championship is only forty to fifty years long, this goal should be the fastest in the history of the European Youth Championship finals.

Lu Yang set another record!

So far, on the European Youth Championship scoreboard, Lu Yang has caught up with Enriquez, both scoring seven goals!

”My God! So fast! Lu Yang is so fast!” The live commentating almost had the fans watching online laughing out loud.

If Morici knew, he’d surely find some comfort in his heart.

Even though he’s only got a minute to three, Lu Yang only took thirty-something seconds.

The advantage is still significant.

In the VIP box.

”I thought he would first get familiar with the opponent before realizing his wild ideas.” Martivini is all smiles, contemplating asking his rival how to lose when he’s made the Italian Cup and the European Youth Championship so successful?

”I also thought he’d be a bit restrained.” Tang Yuqin, also in the box, looked at her grandfather.

The old man said, ”Art is bold; it’s natural! When we fought wars, there was no time to get familiar with the enemy; every encounter was a life-and-death battle!”

”Lu is outstanding; he is destined to become a legend of San Remo, no matter where he goes in the future, San Remo will always be waiting for him.” San Remo President Mr. Russell was also there.

Upon learning the old man was attending, he immediately flew in on his private jet, nothing else but to meet the old man, share a few words.

This is considered brag-worthy talk in their European aristocratic circles.

After all, ordinary people might not understand the development and progress of the East, still stuck with impressions from the eighties and nineties, but those atop the global wealth pyramid, how could they not know?

Looking at Russell and Martivini, the old man said, ”The truly great eagle lets its young fly outside. I, like you, no matter what color jersey he wears, he will always be a player that must be mentioned in Chinese football history.”

Upon hearing this, Martivini let out a huge sigh of relief.

In terms of concerns Martivini had under Italy’s impressive run into the European Youth Championship finals, it was whether Lu Yang could successfully join the Italy National Team!

National Team and National Youth Team are different.

If Lu Yang insists, if the majestic lion in the East insists, theoretically, Lu Yang could still switch to the National Team. Otherwise, he might face media backlash from over there.

But luckily.

After the old man’s words, playing in Italy became naturally smooth for Lu Yang.

This... Probably is the real purpose of the old man coming to watch this European Youth Championship final?

To protect this football seed, those loving soccer domestically have truly poured their all.

Martivini looked at Tang Yuqin, believing this girl played a crucial role too.

”Ms. Tang Yuqin, would you be interested in overseeing the friendly cooperation projects between the Italian Football Association and Chinese Football moving forward?” Martivini said, ”The Italian Super Cup, preseason training for some Serie A teams, Serie A and Serie B broadcast cooperation, youth football talent training plans, etc.”

Tang Yuqin was dumbfounded, this... does it have anything to do with her?

Could she... become a bridge between Chinese and Italian football?

”Relax, there will be professionals assisting you with specifics.” Martivini smiled, just short of saying you wouldn’t have to do anything.

Meanwhile, Luo Cheng, still commentating in the CCTV studio, didn’t know his program partner was about to become a crucial symbol in Chinese football.

If he knew, he... would, of course, wish Tang Yuqin well.

People are inherently different.

Some do things for the sake of the activity itself.

Others do things merely to lay the groundwork for the next step.

Anyone with a life résumé where each step is perfectly aligned, without mistakes or detours, believe me, it’s not a road they walked out alone; it’s a path someone laid out for them from the start.

If Luo Cheng is a talented hard-working type.

Then Tang Yuqin is one who can level up anytime once their experience is full.

There’s no need to compare with such people; social anxiety arises from comparisons not meant for the same level.

In fact, among those with similar backgrounds, Tang Yuqin isn’t even the outstanding one; there are many in business and politics far more successful.

Tang Yuqin simply chose football because of her passion for it.

Luo Cheng is very happy, Tang Yuqin is happy too, Lu Yang is very happy, Sofia is also very happy.

Choosing your passion and persisting in it is a kind of happiness in itself.

Naturally, happiness derived from comparison isn’t true happiness; it’s unreliable happiness.

Currently, among those who persist in their own endeavors, Morici seems a bit less happy.

Because he keeps worrying about his ”almost three-second” matter widely spreading online.

Damn it!

Never going out with a girlfriend again!
