I AM the Football Star

Chapter 288: Chapter 94: Defenders of the Italian Cup! (Part 3)

The soccer ball goes between the two center-backs, straight into the top right corner of the goal.

The seasoned player scores again!

Belletti, Lu Yang, Sogel, and Becher’s hug together for a brief celebration.

Two assists, two goals!

Becher’s willingness to cooperate is just like a forward Morici.

Not only is he strong himself, but he also amplifies his teammates, creating more opportunities for everyone.

Even a casual player like Belletti can coax a good shooting chance because of his movement.

No exaggeration, this player truly has substance.

Four million to buy him, it’s indeed a bit pricey.

But honestly, it’s not a loss.

Last three minutes of the match.

Lu Yang once again holds the ball in the middle, again with his back turned.

Vercelli’s defensive midfielder carries a yellow card, and can only withstand Lu Yang.

While the defenders behind must watch for Lu Yang’s pass.

But this time, Lu Yang nudges the ball to the side directly.

With his Perpetual Motion Machine-like stamina and amplifications, he uses explosive power to overpower the right-back, gets there first, and shoots fiercely!

Batigoal!

The soccer ball moves incredibly fast, wildly thrashing in the net without coming down for a long time.

Vercelli’s players are really overwhelmed.

Five to zero!

It’s a fatal blow to any defensive team!

Similarly!

Five to zero, it’s the most flawless score for any winning team.

Unless you’re Bayern Munich!

It’s known that German footballers have no friends!

After scoring, Lu Yang once again performs Batistuta’s celebration.

His hands hold like guns, shooting all around the grassy field.

His teammates sway and fall on the ground as if they’ve been hit.

The only ones standing are Vercelli’s players.

Honestly, at this moment Vercelli’s players wish Lu Yang’s bullets would hit them too, maybe then they’d find liberation.

...

In the post-match press conference, Becher’s transformation caught many people’s attention.

Sotu specifically brought both Lu Yang and Becher’s over.

Reporter: ”Becher, do you really not care about the core position?”

Becher’s: ”Core or not is just an external standard. I was compared to others before and forgot my fundamental job is just to play soccer.”

”I’m still me, the current Becher’s and the previous Becher’s have not changed. If there’s anything, I’ve become better!”

Sotu: ”Security! Get this Republican Newspaper reporter out! How the hell did he get in again!”

Reporter: ”Lu Yang, congratulations, you completed another hat trick today. Do you have anything to say?”

Lu Yang: ”Thanks to the Head Coach, thanks to all teammates, we’ve achieved a team-oriented victory today, everyone is a hero behind this win!”

The reporter was speechless, three goals and two assists, and it’s called a team-oriented victory?

Are you misunderstanding something about teams?

Reporter: ”Do you have any expectations for this season’s personal goal and assist stats? You know, you’ve scored 30 goals and assisted 15 times in 27 matches, an unprecedented efficiency in the Italian Third Division.”

Lu Yang: ”As you said, my efficiency is unprecedented, so I have no further expectations for personal statistics, I hope I can also give back to my teammates, providing more statistical support for them.”

Reporter: ”Just now, Allez tenaciously drew with Tulis at home, ending the match with two to two. This means San Remo, with a one-point advantage, is currently at the top of the Italian Third Division standings, what do you think about this?”

Lu Yang: ”The Italian Third Division isn’t our final battleground, the Italian Cup is. I hope miracles can shine on the Italian Cup, and I hope San Remo’s excellence can be felt by all Italian football.”

Reporter: ”Are you saying San Remo’s biggest goal this season is striving for the Italian Cup championship?”

It’s well-known that the Italian Third Division season ends in mid-May, while the Italian Cup final is at the end of May.

Lu Yang saying he hopes the Italian Cup is their final battleground clearly means he hopes San Remo can reach the final!

Everyone at the scene was stunned.

That’s the Italian Cup!

That’s the honor that Serie A teams should be fighting for.

San Remo, a mere Italian Third Division team, what are they thinking?

It’s outrageous!

”We’ve already reached the quarter-finals, if any team’s goal isn’t the championship, then I hope the Italian Football Association revokes that team’s qualification.” Lu Yang’s words surprised everyone, he knew it was time to give back to Martivini, ”Giving it our all is the greatest respect for the Italian Cup! It’s also the minimum respect every football club and player should have for themselves!”

The awkward status of the Italian Cup has always been lamentable.

Truth be told, the Italian Cup does deserve the embarrassment.

The Cup’s championship reward is just a mere two million euros.

The runner-up even sees a sharp reduction to one million euros.

The semifinals get seventy thousand euros.

Honestly, for Serie A teams, these rewards merely pay a year’s salary for one of their key players.

And entering the Champions League group stage?

The minimum share is in the tens of millions of euros.

A few home and away matches in the group stage, the ticket sales are quite a sum, adding up to nearly tens of millions of income.

So the league ranking is far more important than the Italian Cup.

Similarly, the Champions League stage as the world’s highest standard cup competition far surpasses what’s comparable to the Italian Cup.

Even the UEFA Europa League, though a secondary European competition, belongs to all European games.
