I AM the Football Star

Chapter 253: Chapter 88: Screams in the Locker Room and the Battle for the Top Star (14,000-Word Major Chapter) (Part 2)

But compared to that son from South Korea, Lu Yang clearly prefers this Sun from China.

No specific reason, just because Lu Yang has the burning blood of his motherland flowing through him.

However, Lu Yang’s smile was misunderstood by someone on the training field.

”Matias! I’ve said it many times, you should come up to support me, then overlap with me!” Becher’s angrily kicked the football towards the sideline, turned around, and rebuked. He was very angry.

He felt like he was playing one-man football.

This team hasn’t accepted him!

”Stop!”

Old Tom stopped the match, gesturing for Sotu to talk to Becher’s.

Meanwhile, Lu Yang walked towards Matias and said to the equally angry Matias, ”Xiaoma, don’t be upset. He just hasn’t adapted yet.”

Matias looked at Lu Yang speaking and nodded, indicating that he understood.

To anyone else, Matias probably wouldn’t have acknowledged them and would have rushed towards Becher’s for an explanation.

He is a defensive fullback, and Head Coach Sotu’s strategy for him is generally not to cross the halfway line.

Does the entire team have to change their playing style just for your happiness?

Who do you think you are?

Even when accommodating Lu Yang’s core playing style, the team’s changes aren’t that significant; it’s more about Lu Yang running, changing himself to help everyone adapt to the new tactical system.

This is what you call having a broad perspective!

Yet this scene made Becher’s even angrier.

He believed Matias’s lack of cooperation was due to Lu Yang’s influence; why else would Lu Yang grin earlier?

Now that Lu Yang went over, was he praising Matias?

Was he going to take Matias to the nightclub for a fun night?

Or bring Matias two gorgeous models to keep him company?

”Becher’s, I need your breakthroughs and dribbling, and even some organizing on the right wing and the flank. That’s your strength,” said Sotu. ”But... you also need to get familiar with the other players’ styles. Matias, Sogel, Versachi—they all have their own characteristics.”

”Of course, you must also increase coordination with Lu Yang and pass to him more. Trust me, Lu is a player very willing to share ball possession.”

”His vision is excellent; as long as it’s within his capabilities, he won’t let any player run in vain. He can always find the most threatening spot!”

Becher’s couldn’t even listen to Sotu because he didn’t see it that way.

Moreover, in previous teams, he played the exact role Lu Yang played.

He was the one distributing ball possession to others, not the other way around.

He wanted to feel the ball under his feet.

He didn’t like running while wondering if his teammates would pass to him.

He was different from those silly players like Sogel and Bai Zhami.

”Alright, I’ll try to coordinate more with Lu Yang,” Becher’s answered reluctantly.

Similarly, Sotu conveyed this information to Lu Yang.

So, in the subsequent practice match, Lu Yang noticeably felt no black holes when distributing the football.

The previous instances where the ball would disappear once given to Becher’s were gone.

Yet Becher’s and Fernandez were about the same, not offering Lu Yang the Four million euros worth of excellent experience.

If it’s just mechanical coordination and passing back, Becher’s isn’t worth the price.

Clearly, Becher’s was only passively cooperating.

Although influenced by Lu Yang, Becher’s got good breakthrough opportunities and successfully scored, he considered it a display of personal ability, with little connection to Lu Yang.

The Italian Third Division didn’t leave much time for San Remo to adapt.

To make time for the fifth round of the Italian Cup, San Remo’s next matches will be moved up by two days.

February 5th, San Remo VS Kelleres.

Many people don’t understand the difference between formal matches and training matches.

Why do some players act fierce as a tiger in training but chicken-like in formal matches?

Becher’s showed everyone why.

In this match, he swept away the cooperative spirit of the training match and resumed his disconnected mode, rushing solo.

Originally, with Lu Yang’s running, the front line was relatively orderly. But when Becher’s had the ball, the left side was practically empty.

Often several people surrounded Becher’s, blocking his not-too-good vision. He couldn’t see Bai Zhami almost entirely unguarded.

”Pass! Pass the ball!”

Lu Yang shouted while running.

But Becher’s chose a completely non-threatening shot at the goal.

After the opposing team collected the ball, Becher’s shook his head as if he didn’t perform well this time.

Please!

Guarded by three people, how could you perform well?

Do you think you’re Kobe?

Three-man open spot?

On the sidelines, Old Tom watched the awful scene and said, ”Becher’s seems out of control; he’s eager to prove himself in the formal match, contrasting with how he appears in training.”

”During halftime, you might want to have a focused talk with him.”

Sotu frowned, ”I’ve told him everything he needs to know. If he can’t grasp it, then I’ll have to show through actions what role he should play in this team.”

Old Tom’s expression hardened, knowing Sotu was getting angry.

Because Becher’s indeed defied Sotu’s tactical demands.
