I AM the Football Star

Chapter 285: Chapter 93: Here Come the Fried Meatballs! (Part 4)

”Bechers, have you forgotten that you’re capable of breaking through? I love seeing you and Lu Yang connect a lot, but you need to know that your breakthrough ability is the sharpest sword of the team. Just relying on passing can’t create real threats for Lu Yang!”

”Bullshit! Lu Yang, you shot from 32 meters away from the goal, who do you think you are? Curry?”

Morici looked agitated, Sotu and Old Tom exchanged a smile.

This kid is bottled up too much; without playing, he would probably die, right?

But it’s for the best; Morici is quickly finding his way back to the team’s core in another way and contributing to the team.

As long as Lu Yang doesn’t object, nobody else will object.

And Lu Yang is clearly happy to see Morici hopping around on the sideline.

”Hey, my dear Assistant Coach Morici, I just scored that long shot!” Lu Yang turned to look at Morici, whatever the reasoning, goals have no guilt.

”I don’t care if you scored!” Morici even tried to challenge this truth of football, shouting, ”If the team only relies on your long shots to score, then why should other players train at all?”

”Your long shot is only one part of our tactical system. You’ve shown everyone with facts that we’re already very familiar with this tactic. So next, please put away your damn long shots and cooperate with the team to get familiar with other tactical training.”

”Of course, this is limited to the training ground. In real matches, you can play however you want. Fans hope to see miracles, but the coaching staff wants to see steady happiness.”

”Also, your long shots have a high probability of hurting teammates, opponents, and goalkeepers. Not everyone has the courage to block with their face and the luck to not break their nose like you!”

”Please take care of our players, okay? If you keep launching long shots, in future training matches, you’ll only be positioned as a central defender!”

The teammates burst into laughter.

Thumbs up for Assistant Coach Mo!

Especially people like Naji, Palacios, and Jalard.

Add one!

Add one more!

Lu Yang smiled awkwardly.

He had just got the Batigoal not long ago, wanting to flaunt it more is normal human behavior.

”Alright, alright, got it, go do your rehab, you little guy. The doctor said you’re not fit to stand for too long. Don’t look like you’re about to recover, then get injured again for no reason. I don’t want to listen to your gibberish for a long period, one week is the limit!” Lu Yang waved at Morici.

More than a week later, Morici was able to play, so naturally, he wouldn’t be gibberish anymore.

Upon hearing ”little guy,” Morici was almost about to jump in place, but Sotu held him back.

”You won’t be able to reach him even if you jump, why bother?” Sotu advised kindly.

Morici’s chest hurt.

Jump your mom!

You lousy Head Coach, all surface and no substance, a charlatan!

Relying on Maniero’s tactics for show, claiming to be a legendary coach after securing the big guns like Morici and Lu Yang.

Do you know the waistless array?

Do you know the three forwards?

Do you know 424?

Do you know 325?

Do you know the Waistless Array?

Uh... the last one, for those who don’t know, I hope you’ll never know, otherwise, it will be heart-wrenching, right, Manchester City friends!

...

February 23.

Italian Third Division, Round 27.

San Remo confronts Vercelli again.

San Remo has pretty vivid memories of this team, Vercelli.

Back then, Lu Yang was thoroughly researched, and the Republican Newspaper plainly stated that the five-defender formation would be San Remo’s biggest nemesis.

And that battle did indeed make San Remo play uncomfortably for a while.

All of San Remo’s other attacking points were marked by Vercelli. San Remo had many attacks but created very few genuine threats.

In the end, it was Lu Yang’s unexpected outside-foot pass that broke the deadlock.

Later, Lu Yang won a penalty and scored, which broke through their ironclad defense.

This time, the two sides meet again.

Vercelli still uses the five-defender formation.

Compared to the first half of the season, they are now more mature.

Their goals conceded are the third least in the Italian Third Division.

The two teams ahead are San Remo and Allez.

Whistle!

The referee whistles, and the match begins.

Almost within the first five minutes, Vercelli sensed something was off.

Their head coach frowned, speaking to the assistant, ”How are we supposed to play like this? Bechers has really been tamed!”

The assistant also grimaced, ”In the first half of the season, when we played against Imolese, we lost because we couldn’t limit Bechers’ breakthroughs. Similarly, we also lost to San Remo because we couldn’t fully restrict Lu Yang’s passing.”

”Now, Bechers is completely integrated into San Remo’s tactical system, and this game might be troublesome.”

It must be said, Vercelli’s coaching team is quite professional.

In the 8th minute of the match, Bechers breaks through with the ball.

Although against top Serie B teams, his breakthroughs aren’t game-changing, when it comes to Italian Third Division teams, to be blunt, calling him the Italian Third Division Inzitens wouldn’t be an exaggeration.

Bechers cut in from the right, bypassed two players, and raised his foot to shoot.

The defender in the penalty area turned their back and lifted a leg to block the shot.

Vercelli’s goalkeeper shifted his weight, ready to dive.

However!

Bechers was faking the shot and passing instead.

With a backheel flick, the ball bounced from behind him to the left.

Lu Yang, who had been trailing Bechers all the way, came up with a Batigoal strike!

The ball stretched the net taut with power, holding it for at least three seconds!

San Remo comfortably leads one to nil!

The Vercelli players were dumbfounded.

The goal wasn’t frightening.

The manner of the goal was what was terrifyingly significant.

This kind of goal has appeared for the third time recently.

Previously, San Remo veteran Belletti assisted Lu Yang with a backheel.

Soon after, Lu Yang returned the favor to Belletti in a match using the same move.

And now, Bechers showed that what Belletti can do, he can do too.

The trio dazzled the opposing players to the point of numbness.

And left the commentator speechless.

”Oh! We see Lu Yang actively finding Bechers, and they’re embracing.”

”Other players also rushed over, many of them were ruffling Bechers’ hair.”

”San Remo’s internal atmosphere has returned to its original harmonious state.”

”I have to praise Bechers a few words. He lowered his pride, humbled himself, and in turn, gained more!”

”Let’s wish Bechers the best!”

”San Remo looks stronger now, and Vercelli could be in danger!”
