I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 447: Chapter 264: Fireball Technique

Must choose the right timing to use it.

Moreover, when encountering certain creatures with flame damage resistance or even immunity, such as some Devils and fire elemental beings, the effect will be greatly reduced.

But no matter what.

This 3rd-level attack Spell still fills Gauss with immense joy.

”This is terrifying; do others have Fireball Technique as powerful as this?”

Aaliyah and the others came over.

”Not sure, but I can only use one in a short period anyway.” Gauss shook his head.

Currently, his Magic Power isn’t exhausted yet, there’s some left, but it’s not enough to cast the Fireball Technique a second time.

The Magic Power consumption of this Spell is enormous.

For now, it can’t be used as a regular attack method, more like a trump card.

Of course, he’s referring to his physical Magic Power.

In reality, he still has a spare mana bar, and as long as he takes a breath, he can cast a second one at any time.

Gauss smiled.

He had obtained Flying Technique and Fireball Technique for a while now.

He finally relied on hard work to surpass his level and mastered these two 3rd Ring Spells ahead of time.

It truly gave him a sense of genuine achievement.

With Flying Technique and Fireball Technique, and many other 0-2 Ring Magic as support, his battle style has now initially formed a system.

Next is to continuously improve the proficiency of Flying Technique and Fireball Technique.

Strive to be able to apply them skillfully in actual combat.

Gauss softly discussed with Ying and Aaliyah the matters that needed attention as teammates after casting Fireball Technique and team coordination.

Especially Ying.

He was contemplating her ability to lead teammates out of the combat zone and how it’s a perfect match with the indiscriminate Fireball Technique.

If coordinated properly, can it be possible to have teammates retreat at the last moment before the explosion, only harming the enemies?

After all, in actual combat, there might not be moments where enemies and allies are distinctly separated.

Then one must create an opportunity for attack themselves.

After the brief exchange, he looked down at Rhine.

She had been silent for a long time.

Gauss thought she was frightened by the explosion earlier, and was about to voice concern to the little apprentice.

But Rhine softly spoke first.

”Master, are you all leaving?”

Aaliyah and Gauss looked at each other.

He hadn’t told Rhine the specific departure arrangements, but didn’t expect her Perception to be so sharp.

”Yes.”

Gauss patted her head.

Life always has farewells.

Even if he wanted to take Rhine with him, she was still too young.

She wouldn’t learn anything by his side, and instead, might be exposed to danger.

”I will come back to see you in the future.”

Gauss looked at Rhine, who fell into silence and was feeling down, and reassured her.

”Right, right. Don’t worry, little Rhine, even if Gauss doesn’t come, I will remind him, and you can still see us often.” Aaliyah squatted down.

Holding the little girl’s hand.

During these days spent together, she also grew to like this smart and obedient girl.

Rhine nodded, pursed her lips.

Her eyes suddenly felt a bit sore, but she raised her head, holding back tears and forced a smile.

”I will wait for you here, Master.”

She actually considered going with Gauss and the others, but thinking of her parents made her reluctant.

Moreover, she understood that she was just a burden to Gauss and the others, so this thought stayed in her heart and she never voiced it.

The team walked silently towards Goat Village.

In the village, Serdur was still giving final training to villagers, and when he perceived the intense explosion noise from afar, a small smile appeared on his lips.

He knew Gauss had mastered the Fireball Technique.

”Lord Serdur, what happened?” The trained villagers hurriedly asked.

During this time, Serdur had earned their respect.

They no longer feared this fierce-looking Half-Snake Man like they did in the beginning; instead, they now harbored a genuine sense of awe.

”It’s nothing, don’t panic. It’s likely my captain practicing Magic outside the village.”

Practice...Magic?

The villagers swallowed hard; this level of noise was beyond their imagination.

When the explosion noise occurred, the ground even trembled slightly.

What kind of attack power could impact the village from outside?

If used inside the village...

Too terrifying.

At this moment, their perception of the Mage’s frightening level rose another notch.

Returning to the village.

Gauss and the others announced their departure the next morning to the villagers.

For a moment, all the villagers showed reluctance.

During the time Gauss and the others were here, the village experienced an unprecedented sense of safety.

Moreover, Gauss would occasionally hunt a wild boar or deer, treating the villagers to extra food.

Though many dared not muster up the courage to speak with him, it didn’t mean they wouldn’t remember his kindness.

The human heart is made of flesh; treating others sincerely will not go unnoticed.

”Lord Gauss, take these eggs for the road.”

”Lord Gauss, these are pancakes from my home, still warm.”

”Smoked meat, not worth much, please don’t mind...”

After the news spread, villagers gathered spontaneously before the foldable house shortly after noon.

Holding various items, eggs, vegetables, smoked meat, clothes and products sewn from coarse cloth...

These were simple farm produce but carried significant heartfelt intentions.

Gauss looked at the simple faces before him, feeling a warm surge in his heart.

He initially wanted to refuse, but after some thought, he still smiled and selected a portion from the items they brought, then returned the rest.

”I’ll just take these; too much and I can’t finish them.”

Watching the villagers still eager to give gifts, the village chief stepped out from the crowd.

”Enough, does Lord Gauss lack the food and drink you’re offering? Take them back, the lord still has to pack luggage, don’t put him in a difficult spot.” He said half-jokingly and half-dismissively, persuading everyone back.

”Lord Gauss, and other lords... Goat Village will remember your help. Really, thank you!”

After everyone left, the village chief solemnly expressed his gratitude.

Especially after his grandson Eric told him that soon he might master an Adventurer’s power; his gratitude towards Gauss and the others grew even deeper.

Adventuring, though risky, still meant power pursued by ordinary people.

As the village chief, he had actually bought skills for Eric and let him self-learn, but frustratingly, there were never any results.

Just when he and Eric gave up this idea.

Gauss and the others arrived and trained the villagers, with instant results, especially his grandson’s improvement was greatest, how could he not be grateful?

”Then please, Chief, look after little Rhine for me.” Gauss waved his hand. ”I will visit her in the future.”

Upon hearing Gauss’ request, the Chief immediately became serious, patting his chest and guaranteeing.

He originally thought Gauss just found Rhine pleasing, and since she was the village’s only child possibly gifted with Mage talent, he paid extra attention.

But now, right before leaving, Gauss specifically reminded him, which meant something entirely different.

Even if just to gain a good impression from Gauss, within his capability, he would ensure not a single harm befalls Rhine’s family.

Otherwise, when Gauss returns, how would he face them?

After the chief left.

Gauss looked outside the door.

”What, waiting for little Rhine?”

”Hmm.” Gauss sighed. ”The child is young, she’ll probably feel upset for a long time.”

But in their current state, it’s indeed inappropriate to take a child with them.

Besides, what right do they have to take a ten-year-old child away from her parents?

”I’ll go out for a walk.”

Gauss stepped out the door.

Before the official departure, he wanted to leave one last gift.

He had prepared this a few days ago.

Including his notes on Magic, some books, and the teleportation talisman that Andri initially gave him.

He intended to give them to her.

The notes and books could allow her to accumulate more knowledge about Magic daily, as for the words, during this time, he had initially taught Rhine how to read, which shouldn’t be a problem.

As for the latter.

The teleportation talisman, once crushed, forms a Protective field and randomly teleports away several hundred to nearly a thousand meters.

If an unexpected situation arises, it serves as a means of survival.

Such a far teleportation is enough to escape many Demons.

Several hundred or even a thousand meters may seem close, but considering terrain, buildings, vegetation, and other visual obstructions, it’s already quite safe.

This life-saving item, he might not necessarily need, better to give it to Rhine.

He sincerely hoped that when they meet again in the future, the teleportation talisman remains intact.
