I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 419: Chapter 253_3

It’s only a few hundred kills away from the next minor goal of killing 6000 targets.

”White Falcon Sword Skill Level 2 (10/20)”

The proficiency of the White Falcon Sword Skill is also increasing rapidly.

Indeed, actual combat is the best teacher.

Gauss also found that as his strength improved, his efficiency in killing monsters was gradually increasing.

Commissions with more monsters, faster kill efficiency.

Even though this time he didn’t deliberately fight for kills.

But most of the kills were still created by him and his clay creatures.

Most of the sailors had already lost the strength to speak, blankly staring at the scene of bodies strewn everywhere.

Did they succeed?

They killed such a massive number of the goblin group!

Some sailors, unable to endure the double impact on their senses of sight and smell after calming down, held the ship’s rail and vomited violently.

”Captain Fern! The left side of the ship’s rail is damaged, some planks are cracked, and water is seeping in!” A strong sailor hurriedly reported.

Upon hearing this, Fern’s brows immediately furrowed tightly.

He quickly walked to the side of the ship and leaned over to carefully check the spot where it had been rammed by the goblin mothership.

After the two ships separated, a clear and huge crack emerged, with waves slowly pouring in as the ship bobbed.

”Immediately organize a team for emergency repairs and head for that island.” Fern decisively commanded.

At this time, Gauss had already returned to the Seagull.

He stood by the ship’s edge.

”Is it troublesome to repair?”

”Not troublesome, we have spare planks and adhesives on board, and experienced carpenters; it just takes time.” Although Fern was distressed by the damage to the Seagull, he did not show it in front of Gauss.

Instead, he forced a smile, looking at Gauss as he spoke.

”Mr. Gauss, have you not updated your Adventurer’s Badge level?”

Although Fern’s abilities were average, his insight was not poor.

He could see that Gauss’s strength had already gone beyond what an elite professional’s should be.

From this, he finally understood.

Why this team was led by the man in front of him, rather than the Level 5 Professional.

But he slightly suspected that Gauss was already at Level 5 strength; even though a Level 5 Professional with such power would be too strong, it was easier to accept than a Level 4.

”No, I am indeed Level 4.”

Gauss spoke truthfully.

”Hiss—”

Fern gasped, the air temperature seemed to rise a few degrees.

His gaze at Gauss became more solemn.

In such a situation, a Level 4 identity is even more terrifying than Level 5; the information exposed in this, even he could understand a bit.

”Mr. Gauss, let’s go and rest in the cabin first.”

His attitude became more respectful.

Gauss glanced at him, then remained silent for a moment.

He knew that as he gradually exposed a part of his real strength, an invisible thick wall had silently risen between this old brother, who was still jovial and talkative yesterday, and him.

It wasn’t hostility, but a kind of instinctive awe and sense of distance one feels when faced with an existence far beyond one’s own understanding.

Essentially, it was also a form of self-protection.

”Alright.”

Gauss spoke calmly, his voice unchanged.

”I will go rest for a while.”

He felt it mainly because standing there.

Many sailors were too focused on watching him, making repair, carrying, and cleaning work cumbersome and awkward.

Back in his room, Aaliyah and Ying also followed along.

Only Serdur as a medic stayed on the deck.

”I didn’t expect there to be so many this time?”

With no outsiders around, Aaliyah spoke more, unable to help but express her amazement.

”But those leaders didn’t seem very strong.”

Having been on the Seagull earlier, she had also paid attention to Gauss’s situation, allowing her to roughly gauge the enemy’s strength.

”Maybe it’s the way of the sea?” Gauss wasn’t certain about it.

”After all, in this world, most regions are seas; a majority of the sea areas are places humans have never reached, while sea demons can breed unchecked, so there are more lower-level monsters in this situation?”

Aaliyah nodded.

”Perhaps we could buy a ship in the future as well.”

”But we lack manpower, unlike those adventure groups which are made up of dozens to hundreds of people.” Gauss remained clear-headed and rational.

Regardless of whether it’s coastal or deep-sea exploration, at the end of the day, only those adventure groups qualify to sit at the table.

As for those small teams, they are essentially just small-scale operations.

”That’s true.” Aaliyah sighed.

”I don’t know how those adventure groups are organized?”

”That’s a plan for much later, right? First, as core members, the level can’t be too low.” Gauss felt that the stage of forming an adventure group was still some distance away for this team.

If one’s own strength is insufficient, how can you attract others to follow?

Sometimes, relying solely on potential and the future, such intangible talents are not effective.

People are realistic, especially followers, they will only focus on the current moment.

Only the strong can lead them to seize more benefits.

According to Gauss’s information, many core members of large adventure groups need to have at least a combat power of a dozen levels.

He was still far from that.

However...

Gauss pondered.

In the future, he definitely had to take this step.

Having more adventure group members is conducive to expanding operations and always collecting more information.

And many trivial matters outside of battles could be handled by other members.

That way, he could more efficiently kill monsters.

Of course, the core team still had to remain streamlined, not too bloated.

So he could come and go freely, easily accepting commissions from various places, and adapt flexibly to different situations.

....

The island where the Seagull’s tidal cave was located wasn’t too far.

Soon enough, before the night fell.

The Seagull anchored near a shallow beach, and the carpenters and sailors began emergency repairs on the breach.

Gauss and the others, in the gradually deepening darkness, stepped onto the rough sand.

”Awoo!!”

Amidst the mountains behind, there were faint roars of beasts.

It was evident that the island housed other monsters and creatures besides the beach goblins.

In fact, the beach goblins did not rank high in the ecological hierarchy.

”Be careful.”

Gauss reminded his teammates.

”This island doesn’t seem so simple.”

”Alright, once the boat is repaired tomorrow, we will leave immediately.”

Fern nodded in agreement.

It’s better to deal with fewer matters; the commission was complete, and the gains this time were quite abundant, it’s time to leave.
