I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 437: Chapter 260: Flying Technique 3

For now, it can only be maintained at a height of a few hundred meters.

Gauss also tested the flying speed. Currently, it can only be maintained at about 15 meters per second. Not very fast, but sufficient.

It’s akin to the normal speed of a car on urban roads in his previous life.

Moreover, this speed can be further increased, along with the proficiency level of his Flying Technique and the strength of his Magic Power.

But as always, the faster he flies, the faster the Magic Power consumption will increase significantly.

Currently, he is still a distance away from achieving the stage of high-speed flight in the air, maneuvering to evade attacks, and abundantly casting counter Spells, much like in films from his past life.

Back to reality.

Gauss rode on the back of a chocobo, while the city of Sen City gradually faded into the distance behind him.

Beside him, Aaliyah and the others were silently gazing at the distant scenery.

This time, their team accepted a commission not by the sea but returned to the inland areas.

It seems like Rachel and Adelle advised him to accept a commission away from the sea because Sen City was currently in troubled times.

This commission is quite intriguing.

It’s a long-term assignment.

And it’s also an informal commission from the Adventurer’s Guild.

It seems that their perfect completion of this kind of special commission the last time made the Guild more at ease to assign these somewhat ”internal” confidential tasks to them.

In other words, it feels like being half on the inside.

Gauss thought for a while and did not refuse.

Because this commission is very suitable for their current team’s state.

The specific content of the commission is to assist and train the villages or human settlements in the northern area of Sen City to establish basic militia self-defense forces, and to clear out the overly active low-level Demons in the surrounding areas.

This commission does not impose a strict kill count requirement, placing more emphasis on ”training.”

The rewards are settled on a weekly basis, and all spoils of battle during the commission also belong to the team.

The salary is 15 Gold Coins per person per week.

For Gauss, who currently has over a hundred Gold Coins on hand, it is still considered a decent commission.

The main appeal is that it’s relaxed, and there’s a chance to encounter a lot of low-level Demons.

He also needed some time to digest the massive gains from this time, to become proficient in the Flying Technique, to practice teamwork, to continue learning the Fireball Technique, to practice the fundamental abilities of his second profession, the [Sword Soul], among other things.

It was a perfect match.

”I need to quickly learn these Basic Swordsmanship and Fist Techniques during this time,” Gauss said, holding the Skill Book in his hand.

It’s not difficult.

It’s just the most basic techniques used to enhance the physical fitness of the militia, and also to see if there are any promising talents. If there are, they can also help lay the groundwork.

”I’ll take a look too,” Aaliyah responded.

All four of them received basic training techniques and knowledge related to their respective professions.

Inside the office of the Eastern District Adventurer’s Guild, several kilometers away.

Rachel was standing in front of the window, facing a certain direction.

”They should be on their way by now, right?”

”They’ve been on their way for a while,” Adelle replied.

”I hope they have a smooth journey,” Rachel thought about Gauss.

He indeed is a Professional with unbelievable talent.

This commission, for instance, seems tailor-made for him.

Normal Adventurers couldn’t even get in contact with it.

Only promising talents like Gauss, who are pre-approved by the Adventurer’s Guild, can receive such treatment.

On the surface, it looks like a tedious and physically demanding commission, with perhaps a bit more generous rewards, but the significance behind it is far from simple.

Because, such commissions can significantly boost an Adventurer’s reputation.

Almost every legendary Adventurer, who later became famous, had similar experiences.
