I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 410: Chapter 250:

”I found a rather good task.”

Gauss spoke up.

”I saw it too, and I bet you’ve seen the same one as I have.”

Aaliyah secretly chuckled.

Serdur shook his head.

Although he didn’t say it, he actually had seen that commission too.

”The Beach Goblins of the Tidal Cavern.” Aaliyah spoke up before Gauss could.

”Oh, it really is the same one.”

”Hehe.”

Aaliyah smiled without saying a word.

She’d been teaming up with Gauss for quite some time now.

She knew very well what kind of commissions he liked.

Especially the ones that involved honing skills. Though Gauss didn’t explicitly say it, he always chose goblins he was most familiar with.

Of course, the other members of the team had no objections.

It was just Ying, who had just joined the team, who looked at the three harmonious members with a peculiar expression.

With so many commissions in the Task Crystal Stone, how did they, without saying a word, manage to choose the same one just by tacit understanding? Did they really have a telepathic bond?

She and Gauss’ team had only gone through the most recent special commission from the Black Tooth Tribe, so she wasn’t aware of the team’s quirks.

”How did you guess?”

Looking at the secretly pleased Aaliyah, she couldn’t help but ask curiously.

”It’s not hard.” Aaliyah waved her hand, with the air of an old veteran member pretending to be indifferent.

Although Ying’s profession level is high, she is the one who has been in the team the longest, and in terms of familiarity with Gauss, she is the one who knows him best.

As a veteran member, she felt it was her duty to educate the newbie about the team’s unwritten rules.

”As long as there’s a goblin, choose the goblin, and if it’s among goblins, prioritize the one closest in distance with the largest number of monsters.”

”When a long time has passed without carrying out a commission, the probability of goblin being the team’s target will substantially increase.”

”....”

Watching Aaliyah tirelessly imparting her ”personal experience” which wasn’t very useful.

Gauss couldn’t help but rub his forehead.

”You’ve told her everything.”

”Thank you.”

”Maybe that wasn’t a compliment.”

After confirming the commission pickup with the Adventurer’s Guild staff.

Gauss and his team took the commission scroll and prepared to head out on their journey.

”Mr. Gauss, Director Adelle is also at the Guild today.”

Before turning away, the Guild staff specifically reminded him for some unknown reason.

”Oh. I see.” Gauss nodded to show he understood, but felt peculiar inside.

As a Guild staff member, even if she’s a high-level manager, isn’t it rather normal for her to be at the Guild’s office?

Why did the staff feel the need to report to him?

Even after stepping out of the Guild’s door, Aaliyah was still curious about it, thinking about it before asking.

”Gauss, do you have something to discuss with Adelle today? If you have things to attend to, we can wait for you.”

”No, the sword skills training is already over.” Gauss shook his head. ”Never mind, let’s start the commission.”

He vaguely felt that he was being misunderstood by someone else, but he was too lazy to ponder too much about it.

One’s life only needs to focus energy on one thing and doing it well is enough. If one can achieve excellence in this matter, they will attain accomplishments beyond ordinary imagination.

For them, this matter is adventure commissions, as for anything else, it’s just trivial.

As long as they’re on their path, they will gain everything.

Walking out of the Guild’s door.

The well-prepared four-member squad didn’t delay any further.

After determining the direction, they mounted their steeds.

Headed toward out of town.

Although this commission was chosen to be the nearest, the journey still took some time.

Of course, there were closer commissions too, but most of them were non-combat types within the city or in the city sewers.

The city sewers were not a suitable choice, not to mention their dark and humid, filthy environment. The sewers’ internal conditions are complex, with winding paths, providing a perfect hiding place for mutant monsters and perilous criminals.

They traveled through the city streets accompanied by the gentle sea breeze.

Upon leaving behind the buildings of the residential area, the sea was fully displayed before them.

On the shore, waves rolled in layer upon layer, white foam constantly crashing against the beach and rocks.

Further out, the boundless blue shimmered with twinkling golden points, blending sea and sky to the point where one couldn’t distinguish between them.

The moist, salty sea breeze blew against them, causing their hair to flutter continuously.

”It’s so vast.”

This beautiful scenery made one unconsciously immerse in it, as if coming for a holiday.

However, in this world, the beaches weren’t crowded with civilian tourists because lurking in the ocean were all kinds of dangerous creatures that might one day sweep them away to be eaten.

After a brief moment of enjoying the view, Gauss’ team continued heading toward their destination on the map.

This time, the target is Beach Goblins, specifically a group of monster pirates in terms of profession.

Unlike most goblin tribes on land, these goblin pirates are nomadic, without a fixed lair, only roaming around the Tidal Cavern area.

They needed to reach the nearest dock and board a merchant ship arranged in advance by the Adventurer’s Guild.

Heading to the sea area where the goblin pirates were located.

The team moved further along the coastal road.

After some time, a busy small dock appeared in front of them.
