I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 403: Chapter 247:

”That’s not simple either.” Adelle shook her head. ”Ordinary elite professionals can’t possibly withstand several of your attacks.”

It’s only been a few days since the last commission, and such rapid improvement in strength is usually not achievable in such a short time.

This only shows that Gauss’s strength was already impressive during that commission.

With her ponytail undone, Adelle walked over to Gauss while drying her hair with a towel.

”What I just used is the high tier technique of the White Falcon Sword Skill. How about it, want to learn?”

She said in a straightforward manner.

”Although I can only manage a tie with you, the power of this sword skill is still considerable. Its power and strength are linked to constitution. Also, once you grasp its principle, you can apply it to other close combat techniques.”

She didn’t mention that this sword skill wasn’t her strongest killer move to save face.

The two were just sparring earlier.

She had stronger killer moves, but she didn’t believe Gauss didn’t have other tricks either.

Everyone prepares a life-risking move for emergencies.

”Yes.”

Gauss nodded.

In fact, he had suspected that the sword technique Adelle used was the swordsmanship skill he was about to learn.

Therefore, he paid special attention during the fight.

After some observation, he noticed that the flying slash was actually derived from a high-frequency resonance sword manipulation technique.

The high-frequency vibrating blade actually possessed very strong power, likely stronger than the flying slash.

Of course, if it’s too close combat, he, as a rather rare ”Close Combat Mage,” might seize many attack openings.

”That’s good.”

Adelle smiled, and a set of tables and chairs rose beside the two.

”But before formal teaching, let’s rest and chat for a while.”

Adelle sat down leisurely.

Gauss keenly sensed that she seemed to want to say something to him, and nodded before sitting down.

”Gauss, your talent and potential are much greater than I expected. No wonder the Adventurer’s Guild has listed you as a key focus for training.” Adelle began, her tone carrying a sense of equal admiration.

Though Gauss was not yet a master professional, the fight just now had already proven his strength and earned her respect.

”Key focus for training?” Although Gauss had already suspected it, when the words were clearly spoken by Adelle, he paid full attention.

”That’s right.” Adelle nodded.

”This isn’t really a secret. The Adventurer’s Guild has its own evaluation system. Someone like you, with exceptional talent and rapid growth, naturally catches the attention of the higher-ups.”

”Simply put, the Guild believes that talents like yours have the ability to become pillars supporting the Guild and indeed humanity.”

”Although you started on the road of a professional later than others, your progress has been quite extraordinary. The Guild has been watching you probably earlier than you think.”

Gauss nodded calmly.

That makes sense.

It’s only logical that such a huge entity as the Guild, which is aware of countless monster attack commissions happening at any moment, wouldn’t ignore a talented adventurer right under its nose.

”Yet I don’t seem to feel anything special.” Gauss said tactfully.

What he actually wanted to say was, since his talent was acknowledged, why hadn’t resources been tilted towards him.

”Haha, the Guild is actually giving as much preferential treatment as it can.” Adelle shook her head, understanding the implicit meaning of Gauss’s words.
