Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 1145: Chapter 818: Rockneil’s Gift

”Raise your wand, keeping your hand that low, are you trying to fix the enemy’s feet?”

”And you, don’t grip so tightly, you’re using Magic, not digging potatoes with a stick.”

”Relax, casting Magic isn’t a painful thing, you don’t need to strain your face. If it really doesn’t work, imagine you’re conducting a concert. As a French Wizard, you must have attended a concert before, right?”

...

I must admit, the things Kael witnessed on the first day indeed gave him quite a shock.

Whether it’s the teaching conditions, the Alchemy Classroom, or the delicious meals, they all far surpassed Hogwarts by a significant margin.

But after seeing the magic level of the students at Beauxbatons today, it also left him astonished... astonishingly bad.

Judging by some of the students, they should be third or fourth years, but their Charm skills were truly lacking... calling it ordinary would even be a compliment.

After finishing the Incantation, they directly jabbed the wand onto the ground. At Hogwarts, not even second-year students would make such a basic mistake, but here it was commonplace.

Some seemed to have a vendetta against their wand, eager to crush it with their fingers.

Perhaps this is a matter of differences in professor levels.

Professor Flitwick is most concerned about students’ Gesture issues when chanting, reminding them at least three times a class, and immediately correcting anyone who makes a mistake.

However, it seems that Beauxbatons’ professors don’t have this habit, leading to the students’ wand handling gestures being all kinds of bizarre.

Though for powerful Wizards, it doesn’t matter how you hold the wand, the prerequisite is that you must have that strength.

The Beauxbatons students made Kael feared that their Magic might rebound back on them at any moment.

Originally, he thought this would be a relatively easy job... but as it turns out, this rent wasn’t cheap at all.

Kael spent two days in the training hall, speaking more words than in the past two months combined, leaving him no time to think about the Time Turner.

And the Beauxbatons students... should have been pre-advised by Ms. Maxime, and nothing like the first day’s incidents occurred again.

In fact, not only did no one clash with him, but the number of people coming to seek his guidance increased. The training hall, which initially had only a few people, was packed by the third day.

Kael was surrounded by a large crowd, without even time to drink water.

Conna glanced over once, then left without even turning back, showing no intention of helping.

It wasn’t until lunchtime that Kael could finally catch his breath, but the once delicious meal now tasted like wax.

No, in the afternoon he must find an excuse...

”Aha, I knew it was you.”

While thinking, someone suddenly sat beside Kael.

”Mr. Rockneil!” Kael looked at the person in surprise.

”Is there a need for that expression?” Rockneil said, ”Or do you not know I work at Beauxbatons.”

”I know.” Kael nodded.

He met Rockneil, a Magizoologist, some years back when he went with Newt to the Romanian Fire Dragon Reserve.

They even did business once, where Rockneil spent a large sum to buy some incomplete Fire Dragon Scales and materials by weight from Kael.

The reason he gave was for preparing Beauxbatons’ Alchemy Classroom, so Kael naturally knew he was here.

Moreover, during the Triwizard Tournament, he even appeared as a Beauxbatons team professor for a while.

”Though I knew early on, seeing you is still a bit surprising... or rather, delightful.”

”That’s your fault then.” Rockneil was a bit unhappy, ”If you knew I was here, why didn’t you come to me all these days.”

”No time.” Kael spread his hands, ”I’ve almost been tied to the training hall, only leaving for a bit during meals and sleep.”

He glanced at the time, ”See, I have to head back soon.”

”Ah, I know.” Rockneil, originally serious, suddenly laughed.

”The whole school knows there’s a new professor instructing students in the training hall on Charm practice.”

”I went this morning out of curiosity... but there were too many people, and considering how much you’ve changed over the years, I only thought you seemed familiar, not certain it was you.”

”But now I am.” Rockneil continued, ”Olympe has been wanting to find a more suitable Charm Class professor, and she’s been delighted these past two days...”

As if realizing he said something wrong, Rockneil suddenly shut his mouth, glanced at the time in a slightly awkward manner, and said, ”Ah, almost time, I have some errands, won’t disturb you.”

With that, he stood up to leave.

”Don’t rush, Mr. Rockneil.” Kael quickly grabbed him.

Though he promptly closed his mouth, Kael still deduced some details he didn’t know before.

Firstly, the reason for so many people going to the training hall is likely due to Maxime’s behind-the-scenes maneuvering. While student word of mouth is fast, it’s unlikely to swell the numbers so suddenly.

Moreover, Maxime also knows how tired I am these days, yet she’s happy?
