Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 1140: Chapter 816: Temporal Repulsion_2

”Can you elaborate?” Kael asked with a serious expression.

”It’s temporal exclusion,” Viktor explained. ”Under normal circumstances, if a person using a Time Turner hasn’t made any mistakes, they can definitely return to the correct timeline, the time they decided to travel back to.”

”When a person disappears, the version of them that traveled back also returns, allowing for a perfect synchronization to ensure that person always exists in the current time.”

”So what do you mean by temporal exclusion?”

”It means he can’t come back.” Viktor seemed not adept at explaining these matters and took a moment before continuing:

”For example, if someone uses a Time Turner at eight in the morning to go back to five in the morning, they will, after three hours, return to eight, completing the connection with themselves.”

”But if they’re excluded by time, then the time in their world will never reach eight again, at most only reaching seven fifty-nine, or even earlier.”

”If that’s the case, what happens to that person?” Kael asked nervously.

”I don’t know,” Viktor shook his head. ”They might remain stuck at seven fifty-nine, or could return to five again...”

”Of course, you needn’t worry about that,” he waved his hand dismissively. ”Luckily, Nicolas discovered it early, Albus hasn’t taken action yet. As long as you find him and slightly repair the Magic Text in the Time Turner, with the help of the Philosopher’s Stone, it should be complete without problems.”

”He’s already gone back,” Kael sighed.

”That’s good... Wait, who did you say went back?”

”Professor Dumbledore,” Kael smiled wryly. ”He’s already used the Time Turner.”

”But you just said he didn’t...”

”Sorry,” Kael said, ”We’re able to remain calm now primarily because the Death Eaters fear Professor Dumbledore. The fewer people know about this, the lesser the risk of exposure.”

The classroom fell into a suffocating silence.

”Okay, I understand your reasoning.” Viktor’s voice was somewhat dry. ”It’s unfortunate; I was still relieved that Albus hadn’t used the Time Turner early, and yet...”

”Sorry,” Kael said again.

”It’s alright, you actually did well,” Viktor shook his head. ”Keeping Albus’s whereabouts a secret was indeed the best choice for you.”

”So Professor Dumbledore, is he really unable to return now?” Kael asked.

”When did he leave?”

”Over a month ago,” Kael said. ”Have you heard about what happened in Godric’s Hollow? That’s when he used the Time Turner.”

”I haven’t heard,” Viktor shook his head, ”But if it’s a month, he may truly have been excluded by time.”

”Will Dumbledore be in danger?”

”It’s merely a time loop; he might suffer a bit but won’t be in actual danger,” Viktor said. ”With Albus’s current power, there’s no one who could harm him in this century.”

”That’s good,” Kael felt slightly relieved, but only just.

Dumbledore might be fine, but they might not be.

He couldn’t keep pretending to be Dumbledore using Polyjuice Potion forever, and Voldemort wouldn’t be patient enough; eventually, when he thinks the time is right, he would take action against Hogwarts.

When that time comes, what will they do...

Polyjuice Potion can make him look like Dumbledore but can’t give him Dumbledore’s power.

Kael just felt a flurry of worry inside.

”Is there any way to bring him back?” He asked tentatively.

”Yes, and it’s quite simple.”

Kael suddenly lifted his head; Viktor’s response was utterly unexpected.

”What way?”

”Send someone to go back and bring him back,” Viktor said. ”Just like a person running who unknowingly strayed from their original path; all that’s needed is for someone to go and remind him or bring him back, it’s really quite simple.”

Kael didn’t reply.

Is Viktor correct?

In a sense, he’s definitely right; getting Dumbledore back isn’t really difficult. What’s difficult is how to get the person guiding him there.

”We don’t have a second Time Turner to go back a hundred years,” Kael said despondently as he sat there.

The Time Turner Dumbledore used took a long time to repair, and making a new one would surely take even longer. By the time it’s completed, Voldemort might have already conquered Hogwarts with the Death Eaters.

The classroom fell into silence once again.

”Hey, wait a moment,” Viktor suddenly seemed to think of something. He swiftly stood up, first rummaged through his desk, then went to a mirror and said:

”Jafar, you have three minutes, come to my office immediately.”

Words appeared in the mirror, and then vanished in a ripple.

...

Three minutes later, urgent footsteps were heard outside the door.

”Professor Viktor,” the boy who previously mocked Kael nervously pushed the door open, looking at Professor Viktor and then at Kael, clearly uneasy.

”Sorry, Professor, I... I haven’t copied it all yet, please give me more time...”

”Put that aside for now,” Viktor looked at him solemnly, ”I asked you, did you remove the discarded items in the classroom this morning?”

”Yes, yes I did.” The boy appeared more frightened, ”Professor, I was just... trying to see what mistakes everyone made... Everyone else really did...”
