Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 786: Chapter 697: Strategizing, Choosing the Hero

The two were speaking in perfect harmony, their attitude a stark contrast to just a minute ago.

It couldn’t be helped. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

In the past few days, they didn’t know how many counterfeit and defective defense products and illegal magical tools they had confiscated.

Although the items were fake, they brought a lot of creative ideas that they had never thought of before. With a little modification, they could turn into real products, and very popular ones at that.

In less than two weeks, their Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes shop had added more than a dozen new products, all of which were quite popular.

For instance, the other day’s Dementor-Repelling Necklace sold twenty pieces in a single day, and that was only because they had no time and could only make twenty.

More importantly, this department targeted magic items shops. If someone else was in charge, they could probably check them ten times a day, making it impossible to run the shop.

Fred and George had no doubt that Kael could definitely pull off something so shameless.

Thinking of this, the two immediately eagerly placed butter beer and cookies on Kael’s desk.

”You must have been really busy these days...”

”Try some, mom just baked them this morning, they taste great.”

Kael didn’t bother to point out their careful thoughts, casually picking up a cookie and popping it into his mouth.

It did taste quite good.

Subsequently, he brought out a stack of parchment.

”What are you doing?” George asked curiously.

”Duh, I’m going to work,” Kael said. ”I need to write a booklet to teach everyone how to protect themselves.”

”That’s a good idea.” Fred’s eyes darted around, and he said, ”I think everyone needs a bit of magical tools to protect themselves.”

”Like something against Dementors...” George said, ”I know of something that, when shattered, can produce a large area of Patronus Silver Mist. It’s not a real Patronus, but it can hold off Dementors for a while, giving you a chance to escape.”

”And more importantly, it’s not expensive, just ten Galleons...”

”Oh?” Kael stopped his quill. ”And where can you buy something like that?”

”Number 37, Diagon Alley,” Fred said.

Number 37, Diagon Alley, was the location of Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes.

Kael naturally knew this, but he didn’t immediately refuse. After pondering for a moment, he asked, ”Does it really work?”

Because they weren’t wrong, in such situations, aside from personal strength, a bit of necessary tool assistance can also be crucial.

After all, magical tools don’t require incantations or wands; they’re the most convenient means. The only drawback is probably the high price.

”I guarantee it,” George said seriously. ”Don’t forget what we do for a living; we can’t possibly ruin our reputation.”

”Plus, Tonks and Moody have seen it. They bought two items on the spot, which is enough to prove the point.”

Kael tapped his fingers on the table. If even Aurors found it useful, then there was certainly no issue.

Kael tentatively said, ”If you can lower it to five Galleons, I could put your shop location in the booklet...”

”That’s impossible,” Fred said resolutely. ”Storing a Patronus Charm isn’t easy; it requires a Unicorn’s horn and Fire Dragon Blood to inscribe magic text, and the cost is seven Galleons and fifteen Sickles, and that’s not counting our production costs.”

”Then six Galleons...”

”I said the cost is seven Galleons and fifteen Sickles, we’re not lying to you...”

”Don’t rush,” Kael interrupted George. ”For each one sold, the Ministry of Magic will subsidize you one Galleon, how about that?”

”But there’s still no profit,” Fred frowned. ”Though we want to do something for the Magic Realm, we can’t sell something and still lose fifteen Sickles, can we? A little more subsidy, even if just one more Galleon.”

”Too much, and Fudge might not agree,” Kael shook his head and said, ”Without Lucius Malfoy, our generous benefactor, the Ministry of Magic doesn’t have much money.”

”Plus, some things can’t be measured just by Galleons. This booklet is for all wizards; it’s also the best advertisement. If it works out, Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes will become famous.”

Fred and George hesitated.

Kael wasn’t wrong; this was the best opportunity to boost the shop’s reputation. Perhaps overnight, the name Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes could spread throughout the Magic Realm, bringing immense benefits.

But at the same time, the more people bought, the more they would lose.

Fifteen Sickles per item might not be much, but what about a hundred items, or a thousand?

By then, they’d go broke, so what use would fame be?

Fred and George wanted to refuse, but they couldn’t bear to miss out on this opportunity...

”We really shouldn’t have come today,” Fred said through gritted teeth.

If they hadn’t come, they wouldn’t be facing such a dilemma.

The two paced back and forth in Kael’s office for a long time without making up their minds.

”Maybe there’s another way.”

Seeing their indecision, Kael thought for a moment and said, ”The Ministry of Magic might have a way to buy Fire Dragon Blood and Unicorn horns at a lower price.”

”As long as the costs come down, we’re fine,” Fred and George said simultaneously. ”We could even sell it at cost, no matter how much.”

”Don’t rush, I just said it might be possible,” Kael said. ”After all, I haven’t looked into it and need to ask first.”

”It’s all right,” George said. ”Even if it just means we lose a few less Sickles, that’s okay.”

”Of course, it would be best if we didn’t lose money,” Fred added.
