Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 757: Chapter 688: Before the Holiday

Yesterday’s events at the Department of Mysteries spread to every corner of the Magic Realm through the Daily Prophet.

However, the newspaper didn’t mention the Crystal Ball, only stating that Voldemort led his Death Eaters to try and seize something while wreaking havoc in the main hall.

As a result, many people see this as Voldemort declaring war on the Ministry of Magic, indicating that he has gathered enough followers, ready to wreak havoc at any moment... This also makes them feel anxious and uneasy.

But these things have nothing to do with the students of Hogwarts.

In the afternoon, almost the entire school gathered at the Quidditch Pitch to watch the most important final of the school year.

Hufflepuff versus Gryffindor, with both teams’ total scores separated by only twenty points, a narrow margin. It was said that whoever won this match would claim the Quidditch Cup.

From the start of the match until now, the cheering and encouragement from the stands never stopped, everyone was doing their utmost to support their team.

”For both teams, this is a match they absolutely cannot lose...”

Lee Jordan enthusiastically announced from the commentary booth: ”Whether it’s Hufflepuff’s Cedric, Ted, or Gryffindor’s Weasley Brothers and Angelina, they’ll all be graduating next year. No one wants to leave Hogwarts with regrets!

”...Oh, the Quaffle is with Kael again, and this is not a good sign for Gryffindor... Angelina is charging toward Kael... Oh no, her broom can’t catch up with the Firebolt...”

This time, Lee Jordan refrained from telling jokes or teasing the players as he usually did. Instead, he maintained a very professional tone throughout the commentary.

Because it’s not just those he mentioned; he himself was also in his seventh year, and this match held just as much significance for him.

”Oh, look, Harry has spotted the Golden Snitch.” After prolonged shouting, Lee Jordan’s voice had started to turn hoarse, but he didn’t care, leaning halfway out of the commentary booth, yelling:

”It’s on the opposite side of the Ravenclaw stands, Cedric sees it too... They’ve started to speed up... Who will catch the Golden Snitch? I really wish someone would give me a Panoramic Telescope...

”Look at the other side, Kael is at the goalpost now... He throws the Quaffle... towards the central goalpost... Can Ginny... Oh, she blocks it, the substitute Keeper saves this crucial shot!”

In Lee Jordan’s shouts, Ms. Hooch blew her whistle as well.

The Golden Snitch has been caught.

Harry raised his arm high, revealing a pair of wings flapping feebly between his fingers.

The stands erupted into a tumultuous roar.

The match was over.

Gryffindor won, marking their first victory over Hufflepuff in six years, ending the unbeaten legend.

The players embraced excitedly, surrounding Harry and Ginny in the center.

When everyone landed back on the pitch, Dumbledore came forward with a smiling face, holding the gleaming Quidditch Cup.

”Congratulations!” he said as he handed the trophy to Cedric.

Yes, Gryffindor won the match, but also lost the match.

Before the start of this match, Hufflepuff’s total score was twenty points higher than theirs, but by the end, they were only ahead by ten points.

”What a pity...” Neville sighed in the stands, ”If only Harry could have caught the Golden Snitch when we were seventy points ahead.”

”He knew that wasn’t possible,” Hermione replied from beside him, having just been discharged from the hospital. ”Hufflepuff’s Chasers are too strong, waiting longer wouldn’t help, we might even fall behind.”

”Ah, that’s true.” Neville nodded, joining others in cheering again.

In any case, at least they won against Hufflepuff once.

”Honestly,” in the locker room, Cedric looked at Kael and asked, ”was it intentional?”

”What was intentional?” Kael asked.

”The last shot, of course.” Cedric meticulously folded his uniform, ”From such a close distance, I don’t think you’d miss, especially against Ginny, who’s just a temporary Keeper.”

”Ginny doesn’t fly too badly, you know.” Kael said, ”And you’re giving me too much credit. Even famous Chasers from professional teams can’t guarantee they make every shot.

”Besides, isn’t the current situation great? Both sides won the match... a dual win, everyone’s happy.”

”Well said.” Cedric put his uniform into a bag.

By the time they left the locker room, the spectators had all gone, leaving the once lively pitch in silence.

Cedric stood quietly at the locker room entrance, as if faintly hearing cheers echoing around.

At this moment, the other players also came out of the locker room.

”Want to stay a bit longer?” Kael asked.

”No need.” Cedric said, turning to chat and laugh with everyone as they walked out of the pitch together.

”I can’t believe it, we actually got a six-time championship...”

”Professor Sprout is overjoyed; I’ve never seen her this happy in recent times...”

”Professor McGonagall seems pretty happy too...”

”Yes, it’s the best outcome...”

”We have to have a feast...”
