Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 767: Chapter 691: Giant Crisis (Part 2)

”I really regret not knocking you out and taking you away back then.” She said half-jokingly, ”But now your status is different. If I do that, it would become an international dispute.”

Kael tugged at the corner of his mouth and promptly diverted the topic, ”So what exactly are we here for?”

”Oh, you don’t know?” Ms.Maxime looked at Newt with interest, ”Didn’t you tell him?”

”I forgot.” Newt patted his head, ”Alright, it’s not too late to say it now. Our outing this time is mainly because of the Giants.”

”Giants?” Kael realized, no wonder Ms.Maxime was the one responsible for welcoming them, but he didn’t understand why Hagrid wasn’t here.

”Tell me about the current situation.” Newt said.

”It’s a bit tricky.” Ms.Maxime’s voice became much quieter, ”I’ve been keeping an eye on their movements lately, and their Centaur has completely leaned towards the Death Eaters. Recently, he’s leading the tribe in a migration, and judging from the direction, the destination is the United Kingdom.”

”They’ve already started moving?” Newt frowned, ”Why so fast.”

”Because of the Death Eaters.” Ms.Maxime said, ”Yesterday, a dark-robed wizard went to Centaur’s cave, and they began migrating by night.”

”We must stop them.” Newt said solemnly, ”Otherwise, the Muggle villages along the way will suffer.”

”One has already been destroyed.” Ms.Maxime shook her head and sighed, ”Hagrid and I just moved those Muggles away, and dozens of Giants flattened the village.”

Upon hearing this, Newt didn’t delay any further and prepared to head over immediately.

But Ms.Maxime gestured for him not to rush.

”We’ve checked, there aren’t any villages along their path in the short term, and Hagrid is watching. If anything happens, he’ll contact me first.”

”No, you’re wrong.” Newt said seriously, ”Giants are inherently violent; they actively seek out and approach places with life activities, rather than walking along the nearest road.”

Ms.Maxime did not doubt the truth of Newt’s words. If anyone knows Giants better than her, the person in front of her surely counts, so she immediately quickened her pace.

”Follow me, they’re not far away...”

On the road, Newt looked at Kael, who seemed puzzled, and asked, ”Are you wondering why we brought you along?”

”Yes.” Kael nodded.

Normally, if Newt wanted an assistant, his father Chris would definitely be the first choice. That’s what they did before.

”That’s because Chris is too conspicuous.” Newt said, ”If he suddenly disappeared from the Ministry of Magic, the Death Eaters might guess our move against the Giants, and they might send more people over, including other members of the Order of Phoenix for the same reason.

”But you’re different. Your target is relatively small, and your departure for a while won’t draw Death Eaters’ attention.”

...Is it just that he’s inconspicuous?

Kael pouted. Though what he said was correct, he couldn’t help but feel a bit annoyed.

Who’s being looked down on here...

But Kael quickly thought of another matter and hastily asked, ”But at the station yesterday, many people must have seen you, right? Is that okay?”

”Of course not.” Newt chuckled, ”In fact, the ’me’ in the United Kingdom is already heading towards the Dark Forest.”

”Dark Forest?”

”That’s where the Werewolves last appeared.” Newt said, ”Though their issue is equally troublesome, the Giants are more challenging.”

”Moreover, having you over here, helping isn’t the most important thing. In fact, with Ms.Maxime and Hagrid, that’s already enough.”

”Then why?” Kael asked, puzzled.

”Mainly to let you get used to the war in advance.” Newt said, ”We’ve actually discussed it together, and we unanimously agreed that getting acclimated before the real war comes is very necessary, and Chris also agreed.”

”My mom agreed too?” Kael asked instinctively.

For whatever reason, Newt didn’t answer the question, but awkwardly changed the topic, ”In fact, what you’re doing now is what Chris and Diana did back in the day...

”Fighting against Giants, Trolls, Werewolves... They kept most Dark Creatures out of the battlefield, otherwise the outcome of the last war would have been much harsher than it was.”

”Exactly.” Ms.Maxime at the front said seriously, ”In war, Dark Creatures can play a greater role than usual... oh, we’re here.”

As she spoke, another massive figure suddenly jumped out from the side, holding a taut, giant Stone Bow.

”It’s us, Hagrid, don’t be anxious...”

Seeing the visitors clearly, Hagrid loosened the bowstring in his hand.

”Sorry, Olympe.” Hagrid said, then he asked, ”Has the person Professor Dumbledore mentioned arrived?”

”They’re here.” Ms.Maxime sidestepped to reveal the two people behind her.

”Mr. Scamander, I knew it was you, and also Kael...

”Hmm? Wait...”

Hagrid was first taken aback, then suddenly realized something, ”Kael, why are you here? Did you sneak along? Get back!”

”No, Hagrid.” Newt said, ”I brought Kael here, Dumbledore agreed too.”

”What?” Hagrid said, incredulous, ”But he’s still a student... have all members of the Order of Phoenix died? They actually let a student who hasn’t graduated come to such a dangerous place; Giants are not Trolls, they’re far more dangerous than most Death Eaters.”
