Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 778: Chapter 695: Coincidence—Harry Almost Got Beaten Up (Happy New Year!)

Newt stayed in the Giant Tribe for a long time, then went with New Guge and several giants to the largest cave.

Here, he left the sight of Kael and the others. Worried that approaching might anger the giants, and out of trust for Newt, they did not get close, just watched from afar.

When Newt returned, it was already late at night.

”This is great...” he said with a smile, ”New Guge told me that he was very against the decision made by the Centaurs back then, so the giants won’t join the Death Eaters this time... Of course, they won’t join the Order of Phoenix either, they will remain neutral and stay away from this war.”

”See, isn’t it exactly as I said.” Kael looked at Hagrid and Maxime and said with a smile.

”Exactly as you said.” Hagrid couldn’t help but say, ”How did you know?”

”I guessed, and it wasn’t hard.” Kael shrugged,

”Look down there and you’ll see, all those powerful giants are injured from fighting over Gringott, the stronger they are, the more heavily they’re injured.

”In this situation, they are definitely going to recuperate instead of participating in any wars, unless they’re utterly reckless.

So, regardless of who New Guge is, they would choose neutrality and continue to live in seclusion.”

”Yes, Kael’s right.” Newt also nodded.

”As long as the giants don’t stand with the Death Eaters, that’s the best outcome for us.”

He glanced up at the sky.

”Things are settled, we should head back now.” Newt turned to Hagrid and Maxime and said, ”If the giants make any moves, or if any Death Eater tries to approach them, make sure to contact me anytime.”

”No problem, leave it to us.” Hagrid patted his chest and said.

”Aren’t you coming back with us?” Kael asked.

”No, watching over the giants is something Dumbledore entrusted to us, so Olympe and I have to stay a bit longer, but...”

Hagrid suddenly became bashful, ”Can I take another look at Norbert? Just one glance.”

He had wanted to see Norbert again for a long time, but because there was official business to attend to, he kept it to himself, and now he couldn’t hold it back anymore.

”Wait until the school term starts, Hagrid.” Kael thought for a moment, shook his head, and said, ”Because of that Hungarian Horntail, Norbert is throwing a tantrum right now, and if it accidentally hits you, it might delay the upcoming plans.”

”Well, okay.” Hagrid couldn’t help looking at the box in Kael’s hand, though reluctant, he still nodded, ”Promise me, when the school term starts, you have to let me see Norbert again... It’s really grown beautifully now, isn’t it?”

Beautiful?

Maxime slightly frowned, she remembered Hagrid had complimented her in the same way... Could it be that in his eyes, her looks were the same as a Fire Dragon’s?

This made Maxime’s good mood vanish instantly, and her face turned sullen.

She furrowed her brows and quietly moved to stand further away from Hagrid.

But none of the others noticed this.

Newt casually picked up a stick and tapped it with his wand.

”Portus!”

The stick emitted a burst of golden light, violently shook in Newt’s hand, but soon calmed down.

”Oh, it should work.” Newt checked it, then handed one end of the stick to Kael.

But Kael didn’t take it, just looked at him suspiciously and asked, ”Should work? What do you mean? This thing isn’t going to take me to some weird place, is it?”

”Of course not,” Newt explained, ”I’ve been tricked many times, I tried making my own Portkey before, but each time the Ministry of Magic found me.

”As soon as I appeared, the Aurors would be able to intercept me immediately, so it’s been about fifty years since I last used this magic.”

Tsk... Kael clicked his tongue.

A magic not used for fifty years... Now he was even more afraid to touch that stick, ”How about having Lupin come pick us up, like they did before.”

”Don’t worry, I think it’ll be fine.” Newt said, ”Besides, the members of the Order of Phoenix are also busy, it’s not good to bother them over such a small matter... Hurry up, there’s only five minutes.”

Under Newt’s reassurance, Kael finally mustered the courage to grab the stick.

”Safe travels!” Maxime waved her hand and said.

As soon as she finished speaking, Kael was pulled off the ground by an irresistible force and vanished in the blink of an eye.

”My Norbert...” Hagrid mumbled, then looked at Maxime and said, ”Olympe, you go sleep, I’ll keep watch over the giants.”

”No need.” Maxime said expressionlessly, ”You stayed up yesterday, I’ll take over. Maybe in your dreams you could see your Fire Dragon again.”

”Huh?” Hagrid scratched his head, confused as to why she was fine a moment ago, but suddenly angry.

”What’s wrong?” he asked softly.

”I’m fine.” Maxime said without turning her head.

...

Meanwhile, somewhere in a small village in the United Kingdom.

After a nerve-wracking journey, Kael finally landed on firm ground.

He immediately released his grip, looked around.

He seemed to be in a village, surrounded by rows of houses, and he could faintly see a pub sign. Thankfully, not some desolate place.
