Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 740: Chapter 682: Kael and Dumbledore Hurting Each Other (2)

”Ravenclaw?” Dumbledore’s eyelids twitched, seemingly thinking of a possibility. ”Are you talking about...?”

”Yes, it’s Rowena Ravenclaw, one of Hogwarts’ four founders,” Kael said. ”A part of her consciousness is attached to the diadem. Both Nicolas and I have communicated with her and gained quite a lot.”

With a bang, Dumbledore pressed his hand on the table. For a moment, his blue eyes were no longer bright, becoming dull and dim.

”Professor, are you alright?” Kael asked with concern.

”I’m fine,” Dumbledore said somewhat stiffly, but quickly recovered.

Although it’s a pity to have missed a face-to-face chat with Rowena Ravenclaw, since the diadem is still at the school, it proves he still has a chance.

Through this, Dumbledore also resolved a certain doubt in his heart.

Perhaps Kael was truly cautious, wanting to use a magic contract to bind him. Dumbledore even thought that everyone who knows about the existence of soul artifacts and tries to seek them should bind themselves with this method.

A diadem carrying Rowena Ravenclaw’s consciousness... Dumbledore couldn’t imagine anyone resisting such temptation.

But the thing he couldn’t understand was how Voldemort could make such a valuable item into a soul artifact... unless he didn’t know there was consciousness within the diadem.

Dumbledore didn’t think Kael was lying because Nicolas was involved. He just needed to ask for the truth.

As Dumbledore pondered, Kael had already approached the table, carefully examining that ring.

To be honest, this thing looks like a cheap Muggle craft, the kind you could buy five for one British Pound.

The only attractive gem also had a tiny crack, seemingly having been casually tossed to the ground and broken.

”Professor...” Kael asked softly, ”You didn’t break it with Gryffindor’s sword to destroy the soul artifact, did you?”

”Of course not,” Dumbledore shook his head. ”Although Gryffindor’s sword is sharp, it cannot destroy soul artifacts. In fact, this crack is inherent in the Resurrection Stone itself.

I suppose it happened when Cadmus Peverell realized the stone couldn’t truly revive the dead and smashed it in frustration.”

Dumbledore seemed to want to turn things around, speaking calmly about the ring’s origin, waiting to see Kael cry out in surprise, just like Snape did before.

”Oh, Voldemort is really a wastrel!”

Kael indeed exclaimed, but that was all.

”I suppose you’ve read ’The Tales of Beedle the Bard,’” Dumbledore asked, ”seeing one of the Deathly Hallows, the Resurrection Stone, doesn’t surprise you?”

”Surprised, yes,” Kael said, ”but I’ve already seen another one and studied it for a while. To put it bluntly, it’s just a sophisticated alchemy tool.

Whether it’s the Philosopher’s Stone, a Time Turner that can go back a thousand years, or Ravenclaw’s Diadem, none pale compared to this.”

”You’ve seen it?” Dumbledore raised an eyebrow, his fingers subconsciously touching his robe’s pocket.

”Harry’s Invisibility Cloak.”

Kael said directly, ”I’ve had the leisure to flip through the ’Born Noble: Wizard Family Tree’ at Sirius’ house, where it records the descendants of the Peverell family as the Gaunt family and the Potter family.”

”Why do you assume this Potter family is Harry’s?” Dumbledore asked with interest.

”Because I remember Harry once said that his Invisibility Cloak is the one his father used in school.”

Kael said, ”What Mr. Potter used still hasn’t aged more than twenty years, yet the best Invisibility Cloak on the market can only be used for ten years, limited by the Invisibility Beast Fur.

I think Harry’s Invisibility Cloak must be the one from Ignatius Peverell among the three brothers.”

”Remarkable...” Dumbledore clapped his hands, ”I think even Harry himself hasn’t realized this point.”

”If he had looked at that wizard family tree, he should’ve known.” Kael said, ”But the book was by his side for two months, and he didn’t flip a single page. Eventually, he even planned to throw it away as trash.”

”That indeed is Harry’s biggest flaw.” Dumbledore said.

”This soul artifact hasn’t been destroyed yet,” Kael said, looking up. ”I suggest you could hand it over to Nicolas; he can solve the soul artifact issue perfectly and has rich experience.”

”In fact, I just returned from Devon,” Dumbledore said, ”but there is some cursed magic on this soul artifact. If it’s not resolved first, Nicolas’ method won’t work.

He suggests forcibly destroying the soul artifact, but I’ve suddenly found myself lacking a weapon... I heard you supply St Mungo’s Hospital with Basilisk venom at one thousand Galleons per pint.”

”Correct.” Kael said, then he procured a small bottle full of Basilisk venom, ”If you need it, I can give you a nice discount; how about five hundred Galleons?”

”But...” Dumbledore glanced at the bottle, hardly larger than a thumb, and raised his eyebrows. ”It doesn’t seem to contain a pint...”

Kael calmly said, ”So I gave you a discount.”

”Alright, that seems fair.” Dumbledore smiled, decisively placing a pouch on the table.
