Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 725: Chapter 677: Norbert Targeted (Part 2)

Kael once doubted whether the person who invented this Magic Potion had some ulterior motives.

...

”That’s why I need to learn more to tackle their tricky exam questions,” Conna said, rubbing her eyes.

Lately, she’s spent almost all her free time in the school library.

Because there are many kinds of books about Magic Potions in the school library, no matter how obscure, you can find them... That’s her advantage; those who have graduated don’t have such convenient conditions.

”By the way,” Kael suddenly asked, ”What’s the potion formula you invented?”

”A potion that can relieve fatigue,” Conna said, ”I used Dragon Claw Powder and mint leaves, which can invigorate people.”

”Mint leaves...” Kael seemed to think of something. ”The chocolate you gave me at Christmas had this, didn’t it?”

”Exactly,” Conna said with a smile, ”How do you feel about it?”

”More effective than Bafe Awakening Potion,” Kael said with a smile, ”At least I didn’t feel any drowsiness all day.”

The Bafe Awakening Potion can also help people concentrate and stay awake, but after two hours, you’ll feel very tired, like finally stopping after prolonged exercise, and can’t muster the energy to do anything.

On Christmas, he ate the chocolate, but didn’t have this feeling, of course, its effect was naturally a bit weaker than the Bafe Awakening Potion, it just kept Kael from getting sleepy all day.

”I found this in a very old book which recorded lots of amazing herb combinations.”

”That’s really nice,” Kael said, ”Have you considered selling it? You should be able to make a fortune.”

Since the end of the Easter holidays, exams seemed to be just around the corner all of a sudden.

Recently, items that help keep people alert and focused have been particularly popular, especially between the fifth and seventh years, and Bafe Awakening Potion has been sold for twelve Galleons.

The problem is that Bafe Awakening Potion, like Felix Felici, is considered a cheating product that is not allowed to be publicly sold or used during exams. If discovered, it would be confiscated.

Originally, it was just to make some hard-earned money, but confiscation would make it not worthwhile.

However, Conna’s new Magic Potion doesn’t have these concerns; it simply keeps people from feeling sleepy during the day, perfect for students who tend to nod off as soon as they open a book.

Also, since this potion has just been invented and hasn’t been released, it couldn’t possibly appear on the list of banned cheating products, so even if discovered, it wouldn’t matter.

Simply perfect.

”Better not,” Conna said with a smile, ”I still have to read, I don’t have that much time to brew potions, I’ve only prepared some for friends.”

She took out a bottle of potion from her bag and handed it to Kael, ”This is for you.”

The bottle contained a semi-transparent light blue liquid, and upon opening, it emits a faint mint aroma with a subtle sweetness, reminiscent of the scent of sunflowers.

This is much better than the bitter and astringent Bafe Awakening Potion.

”Don’t drink too much at once, this bottle should last about a week,” Conna continued, ”It’s a pity that Dragon Claw Powder is hard to find, and with my brewing failures, only six bottles are left.”

”Cedric and the Weasley Brothers are in seventh year, they should find it useful, and there’s Cho’s... As for the last bottle, I’m planning to give it to Hermione, she’s in fifth year and those O.W.L. exams are quite important.”

Kael’s expression suddenly became a bit strange, ”What did you just say is hard to find?”

”Dragon Claw Powder,” Conna said, ”This stuff isn’t sold in Hogsmeade at all, and I’ve used up Professor Snape’s personal stash, he’s helping me look for more Dragon Claw Powder.”

Kael’s expression grew even stranger, and he couldn’t help but ask, ”Take a good look at me, does anything come to mind?”

”Huh?” Conna instinctively looked at Kael, her cheeks blushing slightly, but she still asked blankly, ”Did I forget something?”

Kael didn’t say anything, he just took her to an empty classroom and went inside, then took out a box.

”Come with me, let me show you something,” Kael opened the box and went inside.

Conna followed behind.

The two came to the small room at the entrance of the box.

Conna noticed that there were more things here compared to her last visit, and the previously spacious space could only fit a path barely walkable.

”Have a seat,” Kael casually said, then headed straight to the bookshelf, finding a bag.

”Take a look at this,” Kael poured out the contents of the bag, and seven or eight claws, each over a dozen inches long, fell onto the table.

Conna suddenly froze, ”Could these be...”

”That’s right, Fire Dragon’s claws,” Kael said, ”Didn’t you remember? I’ve been to the Romanian Fire Dragon Reserve and brought back quite a lot of trophies.”

”I know,” Conna still hadn’t recovered, ”But I thought you only had Fire Dragon teeth and scales.”

”When Fire Dragons fight, they don’t just bite each other,” Kael said, ”It’s just that their claws are sturdier and not as easy to snap as teeth, so I didn’t find many.”

”Is this enough? If not, I should be able to get a few more.” Kael glanced towards the door.

Norbert now either eats or sleeps, or occasionally teases the Moonstruck Beast; trimming its nails a bit shouldn’t be a big deal, right?

”No need, this is more than enough,” Conna quickly said, ”You only need a small amount of Dragon Claw Powder, just one claw is good for about five uses.”
