Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 719: Chapter 675: Methods to Divert Attention

Perhaps due to her eagerness to take credit, Umbridge emptied her office in just half a day and returned to the Ministry of Magic overnight.

The next day, the whole school was engulfed in a wave of joy, and for some unknown reason, the usual breakfast turned as lavish as a banquet, with the tables filled to the brim with golden plates.

”How did you do it?” Fred and George, carrying a large jug of pumpkin juice, bounced over to the Hufflepuff table.

”What?” Kael asked.

”Umbridge.” Fred said happily, pouring himself a large glass of pumpkin juice.

”Don’t try to fool us.” George sat down beside him, raising an eyebrow, ”You must know something.”

”Alright, I do know something.” Kael said with a smile, ”Fudge had an important task to assign, and I happened to be there, so I recommended Umbridge.”

”He agreed?” George asked what seemed to be a silly question to others.

”Obviously, right?” Kael replied, ”Fudge found the perfect candidate, Umbridge was very satisfied, and the students at Hogwarts were very happy. It’s a win-win-win situation.”

”I don’t care about Fudge and Umbridge...” Fred downed his glass of pumpkin juice boldly, ”but this is indeed a great thing for us.”

”Haha, getting rid of Umbridge... you’ll become a hero, at least a hero among us Gryffindors.” George patted Kael on the shoulder.

”No exaggeration, we even think you deserve another Special Award for Services to the School for this.”

”If only it were true as you say, but unfortunately, Headmaster Dumbledore isn’t at the school.” Kael laughed it off, not taking it seriously.

Hogwarts wouldn’t award a Special Award for Services to the School just because a student drove away a professor, no matter how annoying the professor was.

Besides the students, the professors were also very happy.

At the teachers’ table, Professor McGonagall was chatting with Snape next to her, both looking quite relaxed and completely unlike their usual stern demeanor.

Sitting a seat away, Professor Trelawney was gulping down sherry, glass after glass.

The school dining hall wouldn’t provide alcohol, not even for professors, so she was drinking her own purchase from the Three Broomsticks.

And it was the finest sherry from the Three Broomsticks, costing thirty Galleons a bottle, and she had just finished two bottles and was opening the third.

In other words, she drank away a month’s salary in just one meal.

Of course, not everyone was happy, like Tonks...

She was sitting there, looking utterly despondent, not a hint of a smile on her face.

She couldn’t bring herself to smile, now that Umbridge had returned to the Ministry of Magic, she would naturally become a professor as the teaching assistant, right?

The mere thought of the curse of the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor made the succulent steak in her mouth taste like dry straw, hard to swallow.

”No...” Tonks suddenly stood up, striding out of the auditorium to go back and write letters to Fudge and Dumbledore.

Whoever wants to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor can be it; she definitely wouldn’t take on the role.

Moody, such a cautious old Auror with formidable skills, was suddenly attacked just after teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts for one academic year.

And Sirius, too, was tortured by the Death Eaters six months after taking on the job, nearly died.

The only fortunate one was Lupin, but even he lay in the hospital wing for a long time, and it was during his Werewolf state that he was carried in.

It’s said that several bones were broken, wrapped in bandages, taking three days to barely walk.

That was a thick-skinned Werewolf who could ignore some Charms, yet he got injured like that.

If Dumbledore took action, so be it; not even a Fire Dragon could remain upright in front of the Headmaster.

But the thing is, it’s too simple for Dumbledore to restrain Lupin who had turned into a Werewolf, he wouldn’t have to go that hard, and neither would the professors.

Yet Lupin was still injured.

The position is too jinxed; Tonks doesn’t think she’s much stronger than them, it’s better to be cautious.

Even if she can’t be transferred back, the school must find another new professor... already three members of the Order of Phoenix have suffered, Dumbledore can’t keep screwing over his own people.

Tonks left in a hurry.

Let’s just say her idea was good... but that’s all it was.

An entire week had passed before she received a reply from the Ministry of Magic, and it was a simple one: the Ministry was short-staffed and couldn’t find a new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor for the time being.

As for Dumbledore... he still hadn’t replied, and no one knows where he is.

Tonks was in despair, feeling her future was bleak and hesitated on whether to stock up on Healing Potions and find someone with Phoenix’s Tears... she might need them.

Except for Tonks, everyone else was very happy; in the days without Umbridge, every day felt like Christmas holidays, lighthearted and joyful.

Interestingly, the professors also seem to attribute Umbridge’s departure to Kael.

Mainly because of Professor McGonagall.

She had gone to the Ministry of Magic with her, and right after they returned, Umbridge was reassigned by Fudge—how could such a coincidence happen unless someone did something?
