Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 589: Chapter 587: The United Front of the Weasleys

”Well then, happy cooperation.”

Inside the Leaky Cauldron, Kael said as he watched Rita Skeeter rise to leave.

”I just felt a bit tired from writing and came for a Butter Beer, there’s no cooperation involved.”

Rita Skeeter closed her handbag and corrected, ”Besides, we just happened to sit at the same table and talked a bit about the Triwizard Tournament, that’s all. I haven’t said anything else and won’t admit to anything.”

”Ah, that’s right,” Kael said with a smile.

Rita Skeeter immediately walked toward the pub’s door, and at the moment she turned around, a relieved expression appeared on her face.

Now that she has the Animagus photo, she doesn’t have to keep being on edge.

The only thing she has to consider is that Kael might not keep his promise and disclose the matter.

But Rita Skeeter thinks he won’t, after all, she’s already paid the reward, including a piece of additional information.

Normally, fifty Galleons couldn’t buy that name and all the evidence of Deputy Minister Umbridge taking credit fraudulently.

She believes Kael understands this too.

Thinking about it, Rita Skeeter suddenly felt excited.

She began to anticipate what Kael would do... or rather what Dumbledore planned to do.

She didn’t think Kael was just curious enough to want to probe into Fudge’s secrets... Judging by the previous conversation, it’s clear Kael is on Dumbledore’s side, and unwaveringly so?

Afterward, they are sure to do some unexpected things.

But what could it be...

The battle among a Hogwarts Headmaster, the strongest White Wizard, and a Minister of Magic must be very thrilling.

Every time she thought of it, Rita Skeeter felt as if she were being scratched by a cat, itching with a strong desire to know, yet unable to do anything.

Kael already knows she’s an Animagus, so it’s impossible for her to turn into a beetle to eavesdrop on information, leaving her with no choice but to wait.

Just as Rita Skeeter was about to push the door open, Kael’s voice suddenly came from behind.

”Hold on a second.”

Her hand stopped in place.

”If you want to know more news, you’ll have to pay extra,” Rita Skeeter said, turning back.

”No, I just want to ask something,” Kael said, ”If there is concrete evidence proving that person has truly returned, would you report it?”

”...Why is it this again?” Rita Skeeter obviously didn’t want to discuss this topic, so she said perfunctorily, ”If it’s true, then someone is doomed... Certainly, I wouldn’t miss this kind of historic event that could be recorded in Magic History.”

After speaking, Rita Skeeter didn’t give Kael a chance to speak further and directly pushed the door open and left the Leaky Cauldron.

After she left, Kael took his final sip of Butter Beer and used the pub’s fireplace to return to the Shabby Residence.

”Fred, George, could you guys be quiet!”

Just as Kael walked out of the fireplace, he heard Percy’s discontented yell, ”I can’t write my report with all the noise, this is serious business, the department emphasizes it greatly!”

”Percy, we are also dealing with serious matters.”

”We need to test the product stability; they paid for it!”

”As for you...”

”Are you sure the minister will read what you’re writing...”

”I bet it’ll end up in the trash can...”

”And then thrown out...”

”Because nobody will care about whether the herbal pot’s shape is standard as long as they grow well!”

Fred and George said in tandem, and since Mrs. Weasley was not home today, they wouldn’t tolerate Percy and retaliated directly.

Regarding whether Percy would complain at night... he definitely would, but the two didn’t care since they were already used to it.

When Kael came to the living room, he coincidentally saw a big bird with colorful feathers flapping its wings madly.

”Kael, when did you come back?”

At that moment, Fred just happened to come down from upstairs.

”Just now,” Kael said, taking a glance at the bird going mad, ”What’s this...”

”Maybe it’s Ron,” George also came downstairs. ”I guess he must have sneakily eaten the cookies we placed on the plate.”

As soon as he finished, there was a bang, a puff of white smoke erupted from the bird, and it transformed back into Ron.

”You guys...” he said through gritted teeth, ”What did you put on the plate!”

”Improved Canary Cookies,” Fred smiled and said, ”They can transform whoever eats them into a canary.”

”It seems to work quite well now.”

”You did it on purpose!” Ron angrily said looking at them.

”Don’t be silly,” Fred said with a grin. ”We just forgot to take them back, that’s all.”

”Didn’t you try whether you could fly?” George asked, ”I think you probably could.”

”Could that really fly just now?” Ron paused, having been too scared to notice anything else.

Even Kael was a bit surprised.

He remembered these Canary Cookies as one of Fred and George’s earlier products, but back then they only changed appearances and couldn’t fly even if they flapped their wings until they cramped.

Ron seemed to think of something and despite his anger couldn’t help but say, ”Do you still have those cookies? Can I try again?”

”Of course.” Fred winked, ”Twelve Sickles per piece...”

”Considering the piece you just ate...”

”Two Galleons will do.”

Ron thought he heard wrong and asked in disbelief, ”Are you actually charging me? And how is it two Galleons?”

”Oh, sorry, we calculated wrong,” George hurriedly said, ”It should be three Galleons!”

Ron immediately protested, and the three argued loudly, causing a commotion in the living room.

Then Percy also came down and began reprimanding them, causing the three who were arguing to stand united.

As for Kael, he was sitting beside Ginny watching the show.

Such a three-against-one situation was quite rare even in the Weasley family, and Kael was also witnessing their unity for the first time.

”Percy doesn’t believe in Headmaster Dumbledore.”

Seeing Kael’s curiosity, Ginny explained beside him, ”He chose to stand on the Ministry of Magic’s side, thinking Headmaster Dumbledore’s words before the holiday were nonsense, and insisted we should distance ourselves from him... He even had a major argument with Mom a few days ago.”

”I see...” Kael nodded. Now he finally understood why the trio could immediately call for a ceasefire.

In a way, this could be considered unifying against outsiders.

”Want some candy?” Kael took out a handful of candy and pushed it toward Ginny. ”Don’t worry, it’s not Fred and George’s Skiving Snackbox.”

”Thanks.” Ginny picked a toffee and put it in her mouth.

At that moment, the magical clock on the wall moved its pointer suddenly.

Kael instinctively looked up to see it’s Mr. Weasley; his representing pointer had just shifted from ”work” to ”home.”

In the next second, there was a bang from the door, and Mr. Weasley walked in from outside.

Fred didn’t mock Percy further, instead, he looked at Mr. Weasley and then outside the window.

”Dad? Did the Ministry of Magic finish early today?”

”Oh, no, I came back earlier,” Mr. Weasley shook his head and turned to Kael. ”Have you received the letter?”

”Letter? What letter?”

Just as Kael finished speaking, an owl flew in from outside.
