Chapter 91: Chapter 91: Powerful Ability User

Su Changxing retreated into the inner hall, hearing the dense footsteps from the outer hall, and saw a group of sturdy people dressed in leather armor arriving at the hallway in the outer hall.

Clearly, they weren’t the survivors of Shield Company, most likely they were Jackals.

They stopped and saw a boy, his entire body in tatters and covered in blood, retreating step by step slowly.

The boy’s eyes were dark yet bright, looking at them with a full-faced smile.

The scene was eerie and strange, but it didn’t matter - just do it.

Su Changxing raised his handgun with one hand and aimed at them, smiling faintly, ”Everyone, first come first served. If you don’t want to die, you’d better leave now.”

He estimated that these people entering the inner hall would also be restricted by the rules, hence their mobility would be limited.

At this moment, the power of a remote weapon like a handgun could be perfectly showcased.

Who knew, the man with long hair laughed as if he’d heard a joke, clutching his stomach and laughing, ”Haha, where did this fool come from, trying to scare people with a handgun.”

The people behind him also laughed loudly, ”Hahaha.”

Su Changxing was taken aback for a moment, getting mocked by a group of seemingly reckless people.

”Bang~”

A gunshot rang out.

Su Changxing aimed at the man’s forehead and decisively pulled the trigger.

Missed.

The long-haired man dodged to the side at an amazing speed the moment Su Changxing pulled the trigger, successfully evading the bullet.

Su Changxing was startled as well, confirming that the shot was accurately aimed, not missed - the opponent had dodged with reflexes and speed.

Silence.

The crowd stared at Su Changxing in shock, the gun actually fired, they hadn’t heard a gunshot since the apocalypse.

Firearms could only be used as clubs.

It’s common knowledge.

The long-haired man felt a lingering fear, having almost gotten shot in the head, then asked, ”Where did you get that gun? It can actually fire.”

Su Changxing slowly retreated, saying calmly, ”Isn’t it normal for a gun to fire? This gun was given to me by someone named Ethan.”

The long-haired man felt Su Changxing was bluffing, anger rising in his chest, shouting, ”Charge, take his weapon!”

At that moment, Su Changxing had just retreated to behind the dissection table, and a still figure suddenly appeared in between both parties.

A limp woman.

Unexpectedly for Su Changxing, the people seemed not to see her at all and charged right past her towards him.

Huh?

What is going on?

According to his initial thought, wouldn’t the first reaction of these people be to question the woman’s presence?

So, they can’t see the woman, only I can.

Spiritual Power?

Su Changxing instantly realized it was likely because his Spiritual Power was far above average, allowing him to see the ”woman.”

Without seeing the ”woman,” he wouldn’t have discovered the room’s rules either.

”Kill!”

The Jackals charged at Su Changxing, their roars reverberated throughout the hall.

Su Changxing didn’t immediately open fire but quickly retreated, eyes wide, wanting to see what would happen to these people entering the inner hall.

Looking at these people exuding a savage aura, he thought of Berserkers, Viking Pirates, wild and bloodthirsty, the most primal side of human beings.

The long-haired man swiftly crossed the hallway into the inner hall.

Su Changxing was a bit surprised; this speed was slightly faster than his. The man seemed purely a melee fighter with extensive body enhancements.

Then, something incredulous happened.

The long-haired man rushed past the dissection table, and upon reaching Su Changxing, suddenly froze, eyes rolled back. With the sound of bones cracking, his neck twisted a full 180 degrees, and he fell limply.

”Click, click, click...”

Continuous bone-cracking noises.

In a short span, the people behind also consecutively fell.

Su Changxing clearly saw the limp woman suddenly appear behind the long-haired man, stretching out pale hands, suddenly twisting his neck.

The next moment, she appeared behind the others.

In an instant, all seven or eight who crossed the dissection table were dead, the last one died in front of Su Changxing.

Silence settled in the air, those remaining exchanged glances, standing before the dissection table, not daring to step further.

Their deaths were identical, heads twisted 180 degrees facing the hallway, aligned with Su Changxing.

Su Changxing also inhaled sharply, realizing he was mere moments from death, had he turned around, within half a second, the ”woman” would have twisted his neck.

Su Changxing chuckled, confidently saying, ”Still want to fight? I really don’t want to kill people; too many have died in the apocalypse.”

He didn’t want to waste bullets on them; only thirty bullets left, needing to wait for the shop to refresh.

The best victory is one without battle.

”Powerful Ability User!”

A low exclamation among the Jackals; such terrifying destructive power was undoubtedly that of a Powerful Ability User.

The group stared dumbly at Su Changxing, surprised to find another Powerful Ability User here besides the Lady of the House.

They were momentarily lost on what to do, to advance or retreat.

Charging ahead was meaningless, only increased death.

Fleeing, they might not escape either; his power to kill effortlessly was too formidable, akin to crushing a chick.

Powerful Ability Users are synonymous with mystery and strength, it’s said no one knows the Lady’s power precisely.

Because those who knew are dead.

Su Changxing knew they were subdued, revealing a mysterious smile, lowering the gun, saying, ”Tell me the purpose of your visit here.”

In the Doomsday World, nothing is absolute, except for power; the strong have absolute say here.

The Jackals exchanged looks, a short-haired man with bandages on his forehead stepped out, saying, ”Sir, recently too many of us have gone berserk due to mutations, possibly we’ll be next. We need to find a way to resist mutation and uncover the secrets of the apocalypse... Hence our visit here, it’s said the Lady of the House has means to resist mutation.”

Su Changxing showed no change, raising his hand with five fingers, saying calmly, ”I’ll give you five seconds to leave; consider it my mercy.”

His tone carried a cold killing intent masked in calmness.

”5, 4...”

A clatter as they ran quickly outward, realizing they’ve obtained a ”chance,” relieved yet remarking on Su Changxing’s mercy.

Facing another Powerful Ability User, they’d have been doomed.

Su Changxing exhaled deeply; he wasn’t keen on battling them, Extraordinary powers are odd, the handgun might not work effectively.

Then, Su Changxing adjusted his position heading toward the staircase, reaching the second floor, noticing a relatively brighter room amid the dim corridor.

This was a data room, cabinets filled with books and documents, a faint fragrance like lingering perfume wafting in the air.

While browsing the shelves, a hoarse and subtle voice sounded from outside the door.

”What are you looking for, I can help you.”
