Chapter 69: Chapter 69: Chocolate Scented Aromatherapy

[Parsing]

[Estimated time: Twenty minutes]

”It still needs an estimated time, has the CPU become overwhelmed?”

Su Changxing paused for a moment. He always assumed the information about pathway roles was stored in the discount shop, and that he simply traded points with the shop.

But he didn’t expect the discount shop to seriously analyze the positions, working like a computer.

Spending 3000 points, he now had 9762 points left. Due to many unexpected events tonight, the points haven’t been much consumed.

Relaxing, Su Changxing felt his stomach growling. He traded in the discount shop for two boxes of self-heating rice, added water to heat them, placed them aside, and also grabbed a can of natto as a side dish.

With the salty meat self-heating rice paired with the natto, Su Changxing finished it all in just a few minutes and licked his lips in satisfaction.

”It would be perfect if there were a few more stir-fried dishes; the taste is a bit monotonous like this.”

Su Changxing took a big gulp of water, diluting the salty taste in his mouth, and checked his phone to find the analysis had just completed.

[In-depth Analysis: Mystery makes you strong.

Placing incense in the northwest corner of a room before bed can effectively increase Mysteriousness; chocolate-scented incense is best, though a candle can work as a substitute.

Always maintain self-awareness as a Dreamer.]

”So what the heck is chocolate-scented incense? Does something like this really exist?”

Su Changxing pondered. This kind of incense might be hard to find, not to mention the chocolate scent.

However, candles can be a substitute, though possibly less effective, and candles are quite easy to find, possibly sold in the Mysterious Shop.

Su Changxing opened the forum and posted a message using the Lucky Child ID.

Lucky Child: I haven’t been sleeping well lately and need some incense. I’ll trade two cans or points of equal value for incense, preferably chocolate-scented ones, as I love chocolate. An extra can for chocolate-scented ones.

Also trading one can for ten candles.

······

This is a simple item exchange post, yet the replies are unusually large, even more than Su Changxing’s previous posts.

Love’s Hug: Can someone tell me what chocolate-scented incense is? Is this a post a human can make?

Master Kang: If the big boss likes chocolate, I like chocolate too, so I’m approximately equal to the big boss.

Strategist: If you can’t sleep, we have sleepover services here. It’s definitely more effective than incense, only costs one can.

Arthur: So I’m quite curious if anyone has chocolate-scented incense? Does anyone truly have such a thing?

”Boss, my instant noodles cooking skills are advancing at an alarming speed. Today’s noodles are absolutely perfect, I cranked up the heat while cooking them.”

Lin Xiuyu served a bowl of instant noodles proudly.

It was on a spacious rooftop, with a campfire in the middle and quite a few people moving around.

A middle-aged man in a gray-brown leather hat looked at the noodles in his hand, subtly twitched his mouth, and said, ”Not bad, just don’t add cookies next time.”

Lin Xiuyu also realized his cooking might have some minor issues, so he said:

”This is due to the lack of ingredients, I have to make do. A skillful man can’t cook without rice, that’s the logic.”

Cai Jing stared at the noodles in her hand, earnestly saying, ”Leave the cooking to me in the future, don’t touch it anymore.”

The middle-aged man frowned and tried a bite, finding it decent, at least not as bad as it looks, nodded, and said, ”It’s barely passable.”

Cai Jing heard the team leader said so, also took a bite, found it still edible, though a bit unappealing in appearance, she considered it a change in flavor.

The middle-aged man took a big bite of noodles, took out a phone, and found new changes on the forum. That ID called Lucky Child posted a new message.

Although Lin Xiuyu said earlier that the person they met at the police station was Lucky Child, that’s not necessarily true.

It’s entirely possible it was just a coincidence; that person awakened quite strong superpowers, which Lin Xiuyu happened to see.

”Pfft~”

The middle-aged man looking at his phone sputtered out the noodles he just ate in one go.

What the heck is this? Trading for chocolate incense?

Could it be any more outrageous?

”Boss, what’s wrong?”

Lin Xiuyu paused, thinking the noodles he cooked were too bad, though he felt they were fine.

The middle-aged man calmly wiped the soup off the corner of his mouth, and said, ”Take a look at the post by Lucky Child, what do you think his intention is.”

”Pfft~”

Lin Xiuyu spat out a mouthful, ”Darn, self-heating rice is a bit much, is he starting to enjoy the apocalypse now?”

Cai Jing looked at the post and fell into silence, earnestly saying, ”This person is quite sophisticated, could it be a girl?”

”Are you sure this is about being sophisticated?” Lin Xiuyu gave him a sideways glance, and said:

”Could it be the incense has other uses, like attracting zombies or something? Is there a chance zombies are more easily lured by chocolate? By the way, I haven’t even seen chocolate until now, were they all eaten by zombies?”

Cai Qing lightly said, ”You can make it more outrageous.”

Originally, Su Changxing just wanted to try it out. With so many people, maybe someone really could find incense.

Not long after the post went up, someone actually messaged him privately.

Dream Seeker: Boss, I have seven boxes of incense here, but can I trade one of the cans for two bottles of water?

Lucky Child: Is it chocolate-scented?

Dream Seeker: I’m sorry, none are chocolate-scented like the boss needs, only regular incense.

Lucky Child: Fine, how about one can plus one 1L bottle of water?

Dream Seeker: Thank you, boss, these supplies are lifesavers for me. I know boss isn’t in dire need of incense, merely helping others in a different way.

Su Changxing was surprised, not expecting this person to start making assumptions. He genuinely just needed incense, and replied: No need to thank me, we are just trading fairly. Let us trade.

Dream Seeker: I understand, thanks again, boss.

At this moment, a boy with afro curls squatted in the restaurant of a mall, holding his phone, with tears in his eyes, feeling that there are still many good people in this world.

He hadn’t left this spot for days, surrounded by zombies all around, with no way out. The food he scavenged was finished by yesterday, and now he was utterly exhausted.

If he hadn’t suddenly seen Su Changxing’s post, he would probably have already given up hope.

Su Changxing traded a bottle of water from the discount shop, along with a can, and traded with Dream Seeker. A flash of white light, and seven blue-packaged incense appeared at his feet.
