Global Game: I Have Portable Store

Chapter 71: Chapter 71: The Location of Shield Company

Huang Biao put his phone back in his pocket and asked, ”So, why did the phones disappear?”

Su Changxing thought for a moment and said, ”I killed those two people and earned points, and a kill notification popped up on my phone. This is very similar to gaining points from killing zombies. Maybe to the phone, they’re the same kind of thing.”

Huang Biao pondered for a while, then suddenly widened his eyes in realization, and said:

”So that means killing us would also earn them similar points, and the phones are like the carriers of those points, which is why they disappear.

”Is that why they’re coming to kill us?”

After analyzing the situation, Huang Biao felt a chill down his spine. It was a simple yet absurd reason.

When Su Changxing killed the Extraordinary who could turn invisible in the dark in front of the Mysterious Shop, he already had a similar suspicion.

He nodded and said:

”Yes, they are killing recklessly just for points. Maybe in their eyes, we are just monsters that refresh in the game, so they kill without mercy.”

Huang Biao took a deep breath and fell silent, unsure of what to say. He had thought they would be the main characters of the Doomsday Game, but never imagined they might just be NPCs or even wild monsters in the game.

Su Changxing continued, ”There’s nothing like this on the forums, which means they’re very meticulous and there aren’t many of them; running into them is just pure luck.”

Huang Biao furrowed his brows and said, ”Shouldn’t we post something to warn others? At least keep these people from infiltrating other groups’ bases to slaughter easily.”

Su Changxing appeared thoughtful and said:

”It’s best to have someone with the authority to pin posts and who’s influential to post it, so everyone will find out and believe it. After all, this sounds quite absurd and hard to believe.”

He then revealed a faint smile and said, ”I happened to have an early connection with Lucky Child. He’s quite decent, so I can ask him to post it.”

”Hmm, let’s do that.” Huang Biao nodded, somewhat surprised, and said:

”What a coincidence, I also got in touch with Lucky Child at the start of the Doomsday Game. Back then, it was for buying his steel rod. I guess you also know him from buying his stuff, right? Yeah, he’s nice; I still owe him some points.”

Su Changxing observed Huang Biao and confirmed he had no suspicions about his identity unless he was a master actor.

Su Changxing used his phone to draft the content of the post, pretending to contact himself.

Huang Biao asked, ”What did he say, did he agree?”

Su Changxing confidently said, ”Once I explained the situation to him, he agreed decisively. After all, we have no reason to deceive him, and he has no reason to refuse.”

Then, Su Changxing posted on the forum.

Lucky Child: Please be aware, everyone, I received news that a group of people is secretly slaughtering some groups. They are suspected to be survivors in this world, with exceptional individual strength.

Leaders of various teams, remember not to let them infiltrate easily; verify with the forum before recruiting.

Once again, a warning: they are far stronger than ordinary people, and as far as I know, several bases have already been wiped out.

·····

Three Years Simulation: Damn, is it true there are still survivors in this world? Why are they attacking us? Wouldn’t it be better for everyone to get along and fight against the zombies together?

AMC: I always thought Lucky Child only sold stuff; I didn’t expect him to post such useful information. He finally has the consciousness of a big shot.

Heart Phase: Sigh, don’t sarcasm him; he just posted about trading for chocolate incense.

Traitor: Wow, shouldn’t the focus be on how to guard against or deal with these people? I’m already a bit worried about encountering them.

······

Huang Biao turned his head toward Su Changxing and asked, ”Where are you going next? Why don’t you stay here until the Doomsday Game ends?”

Su Changxing thought for a while, then shook his head and said, ”I have something important to do. I need a map now; have you seen any larger library around here?”

”Map?” Huang Biao recalled and said, ”Haven’t seen one; there aren’t many bookstores here. Where are you heading?”

Su Changxing said, ”The local branch of Shield Company.”

Huang Biao widened his eyes and said, ”Are you talking about the company with the blue shield logo?”

Su Changxing was a bit surprised that Huang Biao had seen it, but then he recalled from the memory of the young boy that the police station and Shield Company aren’t far apart:

”Do you know where it is? Tell me.”

Huang Biao nodded and said, ”I was placed on the top floor of that tall building nearby, just enough to see where that company is. But, I advise you not to go; there are too many zombies there.”

Su Changxing’s eyes lit up. He hadn’t expected that Huang Biao would know Shield Company’s location. He asked, ”Is the building far from here? I’d like to take a look.”

Huang Biao thought for a moment and said, ”Sure, I’ll take you there. It’s not that far from here.”

Huang Biao turned back to a person with dyed yellow hair and a bizarre outfit by the window, and said:

”Yan Xu, Su and I are going out for a bit. Later, take the team to continue scavenging around, but prioritize safety, and come back to rest at noon.”

Yan Xu glanced at Su Changxing, his eyes evasive and clearly filled with fear, and said, ”Okay, we’ll first clear out the zombies downstairs.”

Following Huang Biao into the hallway, Su Changxing asked curiously, ”Why is he afraid of me? I haven’t scared him.”

Huang Biao’s mouth twitched... how brutal you were yesterday would scare anyone, right? He carefully chose his words and said, ”You were too fierce yesterday; it’s normal to scare people.”

Su Changxing nodded thoughtfully, thinking the timid Yan Xu is perhaps too timid, and earnestly said, ”You should have someone braver leading the team.”

Huang Biao explained, ”Actually, he’s bold enough, braver than many others.”

Su Changxing suddenly understood, ”So, your people are generally timid, picking the tall among the short. That makes sense.”

Huang Biao: ”······”

The two went down the stairs and headed east along the street. The zombies on the street posed no threat to them; Huang Biao alone could handle them.

Huang Biao, still thinking about the points he owed Lucky Child, swung his weapon diligently, looking every bit like a hard worker, and said, ”Don’t compete with me. I’m already drowning in debt.”

Su Changxing humbly said, ”Alright, you do your best, and I’ll cover you.”

After walking for more than ten minutes, Su Changxing saw a tall building with vast blue glass curtain walls, which he’d seen from other positions before.

Huang Biao neatly crushed a zombie’s head with a steel saber and said:

”The further you go, the denser the zombies become, especially in the direction of Shield Company. I reckon it’s hard for people placed there to even get onto the street.”

Su Changxing figured there must be something in Shield Company attracting these zombies to congregate there.

The two arrived at the front of the tall building, and Huang Biao said:

”Let’s go up from the side’s emergency exit. There are still few zombies in the passage.”
