A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 245: Chapter 245: Dowry (7)

”Then what about the stock I was so bullish on? What exactly was wrong with it? You told me to think it over back then. You knew it was going to drop, didn’t you?” Leo Jennings was indignant. This was his first failure since he’d started playing the stock market! And it was the most devastating one. His failure meant that Habitat Construction was doomed to go bankrupt!

”What if I did? What if I didn’t? Is there any point in discussing it now? You should just get ready to head off to Yale. You’re studying finance anyway. Go, learn more, observe more. If you have the time and energy, you can test the waters with small ventures. Once you’ve gained enough experience, you’ll be able to spot the same gains I can.”

Seraphina Sterling did admire Leo Jennings’s talent. After all, not every high school student could do what he’d done—founding a construction company and trading stocks. He was simply too young and hadn’t experienced enough; he sorely lacked real-world seasoning.

The corner of Leo Jennings’s lip twitched. ”Don’t lecture me like you’re some kind of veteran. In terms of age, I’m the one who’s older, aren’t I? Don’t you think the way you talk is completely out of sync with your age?”

Seraphina Sterling glanced at him. ”Ability has nothing to do with age.”

”With your abilities, you should have a way to save Habitat Construction, right?” This was the second reason Leo Jennings had come today.

A warm smile bloomed on Seraphina Sterling’s face. The conversation had finally arrived at the topic she’d been waiting for. ”Habitat Construction is only suffering from a cash flow problem. Inject a bit of capital, and it’ll be back on its feet immediately. You want—me to invest?”

”That’s right! You must have the funds!” Seraphina Sterling was Leo Jennings’s last hope. If she refused to help, Habitat Construction would have no choice but to declare bankruptcy.

”Give me one reason why I should help you.” Two faint dimples appeared on Seraphina Sterling’s cheeks, and her brilliant smile shone with a unique radiance.

Leo Jennings fell silent. He had no reason. He couldn’t think of a single reason to make her invest.

’If it were about profit, she could make a killing on the stock market with that money. It would be faster and far more lucrative.’

’If it were about family ties... well, considering how they’d treated her before, he’d be lucky if she didn’t pour salt on the wound, let alone offer an investment.’

Leo Jennings despaired. If he couldn’t even convince himself, how could he possibly persuade Seraphina Sterling? But Habitat Construction was something he had built with his own two hands. He couldn’t stomach the thought of just standing by and watching it collapse.

Seraphina Sterling observed his expression until she felt the time was right, then she finally relented. ”It’s not impossible for me to invest in Habitat Construction. If you’re willing to do a few things for me while you’re at university, I can inject twenty million right away.”

Leo Jennings’s eyes lit up. He asked urgently, ”What do you need?”

”I want to make some investments in Country M, but it’s not convenient for me to go in person right now. I want you to be my hands there—to follow my instructions and execute some investment projects.” As she spoke, Seraphina Sterling handed Leo Jennings a proposal she had prepared long in advance.

’So she had planned everything! Including him showing up at the hospital! To be so young and have such a calculating mind... her intelligence is truly terrifying.’

By the time Leo Jennings finished reading the proposal, he was speechless. ’She’s only eighteen, right? She’s just a high school student, isn’t she? Can someone please tell me, are all high school students this ambitious nowadays? As if playing the Apex stock market wasn’t enough for her, now she wants to take on Country M’s too!’

’And yet, as he looked at the proposal, he felt a thrill surge through him, his blood racing with an eagerness he couldn’t contain. If everything went according to this plan, they would be creating a miracle!’
