A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 208: Chapter 208: An Arrogant Family (4)

Seraphina Sterling: ”This is my business. It has nothing to do with you!”

”Also, those stocks you just bought are all junk! They’ve been dropping nonstop, and in a few more days, they’ll all be completely worthless! If you trust me, I’ll recommend a few stocks to you. I guarantee you’ll make a steady profit and won’t lose a thing!” Leo Jennings told Seraphina Sterling about a few stocks he had been watching recently. This was the fruit of several months of his hard research.

”Alright, I’ll give you a piece of advice in return. You should sell as soon as possible. Those stocks you just mentioned are the real junk. If you don’t want to lose everything, sell them immediately!” Seraphina Sterling couldn’t help but offer a warning in the end, moved by his earlier good intentions.

”Are you kidding me? How could my picks be junk stocks? They’re potential winners! I’ve been watching them for so long, there’s no way I’ve misjudged them! These stocks will definitely soar in a short period of time!” Leo Jennings stubbornly held to his conclusion. After all, he had reached it himself! As someone who had always been conceited, how could he negate the fruits of his own labor just because of a few words from someone else?

”Then we’ll wait and see!” Seraphina Sterling didn’t press the issue. She didn’t have any particular feelings about Leo Jennings.

’If he hadn’t given her advice with such sincerity just now, she wouldn’t have bothered to warn him. Conversely, since he didn’t believe her, there was no need to remind him again and again! Whatever the outcome, it would be determined by his own actions!’

”Bro, why are you still here? Dad’s been looking for you for ages! You don’t have your phone on you again. When are you ever going to change that habit?” Quinn Jennings also entered Seraphina Sterling’s room. This caused Seraphina’s expression to darken a few shades.

’Truly brother and sister. They even share the same habit of not knocking!’

Quinn Jennings had never gotten along with the other children of the Jennings Family. Even though Seraphina Sterling’s surname wasn’t Jennings, in Quinn’s eyes, there was no difference between Seraphina Sterling and Zoe Jennings!

”It’s not that I didn’t want to knock, it’s that your door wasn’t even closed. So I could just skip that step! Besides, if I wasn’t here to find my brother, I wouldn’t come in even if you invited me! What’s so great about this dump of a room anyway!”

Quinn Jennings dragged Leo Jennings away.

Meanwhile, Elias Jennings was at his wit’s end. He’d been in Tollan Town for a long time and had lost count of how many times he had tried to contact The Grant Group, but he had only ever met with the most minor of functionaries. He had sent plenty of gifts, but he hadn’t managed to meet a single key figure! The season for construction to begin was fast approaching, yet he had made no progress, which made him extremely anxious. This was the main reason he had summoned Leo Jennings. With things having reached this point, they needed a viable solution.

”Leo, if we really want to land this project with The Grant Group, the difficulty is just too great! Why don’t we just go back to Veridia? We already have a foundation there. The projects may not be as big or as prestigious as The Grant Group’s, but the profits are still very respectable!” Elias Jennings was already starting to have second thoughts.

”Dad, absolutely not! An arrow, once shot, cannot be recalled! Since we’ve already returned to Tollan Town and announced in front of Zachary Jennings’s whole family that we would give back to the community, we have to follow through! Is The Grant Group really that hard to deal with? The ones here aren’t The Grant Family of Aethelgard! It’s just a branch office! If you can’t see the general manager, can’t you at least see the vice manager?”

Quinn Jennings began to doubt Elias Jennings’s ability; in her eyes, this was a very simple problem.

”Quinn is right. Going back to Veridia is impossible. Since we can’t meet Mr. Grant, we’ll find a way to meet Vice Manager Hughes. This resort project is mostly being handled by him anyway. The general manager, Mr. Grant, is just a figurehead. As long as we can get Vice Manager Hughes on our side, this project will be ours!”
