A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 214: Chapter 214: Domineering Mr. Grant (2)

”I may not have objected, but I didn’t agree, either! She’s busy right now. She has guests over and needs to entertain them!” Terrence Grant raised an eyebrow, his words leaving Hughes speechless. ’He so obviously wants to see her, yet he insists on saying the exact opposite!’

Seraphina Sterling frowned. The more she listened, the weirder this all felt. ”Since you didn’t ask to see me, I’ll be heading back now!”

The moment she turned, Terrence Grant grabbed her wrist. His furious voice seemed to be forced through gritted teeth. ”Seraphina Sterling—”

As soon as Hughes saw this, he shot a look at the three miserable-looking sparring partners from before. The four of them quickly scurried away, leaving only Terrence Grant and Seraphina Sterling in the room.

The corner of Seraphina Sterling’s eye twitched. ”What do you think you’re doing?”

”Don’t you have anything to say to me?” Terrence Grant was suppressing a ball of fury, a rage so hot he felt he might be consumed by it.

’He had originally planned to pay Kimberly Jennings a New Year’s visit, but he never expected to see Seraphina Sterling laughing so happily with another man—she was blooming like a flower! He had never seen her smile so brightly. Every time he pictured Seraphina Sterling’s smile directed at that damn man, he got so angry he could kill!’

”Say what?” Seraphina Sterling’s brows furrowed deeply. ’What on earth is he freaking out about?!’

”You’re only eighteen this year! You’re a high school senior! It’s far too early for you to be dating! Stay away from that man!” Terrence Grant finally unleashed all his pent-up anger.

Seraphina Sterling’s eyes went wide, her round gaze filled with astonishment. ’Who was the man who confessed his feelings to her just a few days ago? Who was the man who kissed her at the drop of a hat? And now he’s telling her she isn’t allowed to date? Did he not find himself just a little bit contradictory?’

Looking at the girl whose eyes were as wide as a squirrel’s, Terrence Grant instantly understood what she was thinking. He, too, recalled his own recent behavior and cleared his throat deliberately. ”What I mean is, the most important thing for you right now is to focus on preparing for your exams! Don’t get into a relationship too early! And stay far away from that man!”

”Dating too early? That man?” Seraphina Sterling finally understood what Terrence Grant was so angry about. She sighed. ”I’m not going to date too early, and I’m not going to get into a relationship! As for the man you mentioned, he’s a distant relative of my family. If you must know, he’s basically a brother to me. A blood-related brother!”

’A brother?’ The tension in Terrence Grant’s furrowed brow eased slightly. But just the thought of how radiantly Seraphina Sterling had smiled at that man still made him deeply uncomfortable.

”Just as long as you understand! Dating at your age is the worst thing for your grades. It’s not just him—any man other than me is off-limits!” This incident served as a wake-up call for Terrence Grant; the girl was growing up, radiating a youthful energy that would attract countless hormone-crazed men.

If he wasn’t careful, she might be snatched away by some reckless young punk. They had only been apart for a few days, yet he felt she had become even more captivating, unconsciously drawing in the men around her with her fresh, youthful aura.

The corner of Seraphina Sterling’s mouth twitched. ’This man is way too domineering! What does he mean, ”any man other than him is off-limits”?!’ Seraphina Sterling changed the subject. ”Is this the only reason you had me come here?”

A suspicious flush crept onto Terrence Grant’s face. ”Ahem! As your teacher, I just wanted to check on your academic progress!”

Seraphina Sterling could hardly believe what she was hearing. ’Still, this is the first time I’ve seen this side of Terrence Grant! Telling such a bald-faced lie! He doesn’t mean a word he says! His awkwardness is actually... kind of cute!’
