A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 225: Chapter 225: It’s Not Over Yet (3)

”But if we don’t hire bodyguards and something actually happens, Seraphina won’t be able to defend herself at all!” Leo Jennings knew it wasn’t a perfect solution, but doing nothing would be even more dangerous.

Terrence Grant was pleased. He had personally trained Seraphina; she wouldn’t get hurt so easily. Leo Jennings, however, was completely in the dark. ’Looks like her relationship with him isn’t that close after all!’

”The Jade Bracelet isn’t even on me. Setting aside whether bodyguards could even keep me safe, hiring them would be a dead giveaway. If the other party had any doubts before, seeing me with bodyguards would confirm everything for them!

”But...” Leo Jennings started to say, but a severe glare from Terrence Grant made him swallow his words.

”Don’t be so serious. They haven’t come after me yet, have they? I’m still safe for now. And even if they do find me, I can just explain!” ’Since it’s already happened, worrying won’t change a thing. Fretting over something that might not even occur is just a waste of energy.’

”Didn’t you have business with Terrence Grant? Don’t worry about me. I can handle this myself!”

Leo Jennings finally remembered why he had come. ’How strange. I was so worried about Seraphina Sterling that I completely forgot my main reason for being here! That’s just... illogical. Completely illogical!’

”Mr. Grant, I’d like to discuss partnering with you on the resort project. Our company, Habitat Builders, is more than capable of handling this job. Plus, we’re local to Tollan Town, which means a lot of the work will go much more smoothly. I can guarantee that Habitat Builders will complete the final phase of the project to the highest standards!”

Leo Jennings had initially been quite confident about this. The final phase of the resort project was tricky to implement because it involved dealing with the local villagers’ customs, so The Grant Group had decided to subcontract that portion to a local construction company.

However, the moment he met Terrence Grant and saw his attitude, all of Leo’s confidence vanished. ’Mr. Grant seems to have some strange animosity toward me!’

”Are you done?” Terrence Grant didn’t even deign to look at him. ’To him, any man near Seraphina Sterling was the enemy.’

”I hope you will give Habitat Builders serious consideration, Mr. Grant!” Leo Jennings couldn’t resist making one last push for his company.

”If that’s what you came here for today, then let me be perfectly clear: The Grant Group will absolutely not be working with Habitat Builders, and this project will absolutely not be given to you. You can forget about it.” Terrence Grant’s arrogance was on full display, pushed to its absolute limit. Even Seraphina, standing off to the side, wanted to punch him when she heard that.

”Why? Habitat Builders may not be a massive construction firm, but we are more than capable of handling a project for The Grant Group,” Leo Jennings explained desperately. This opportunity was simply too important for them.

”Because it pleases me.” Terrence Grant offered a faint smile. His answer was the kind that made you want to punch him in the face—a classic case of someone begging for a beating. Unbridledly arrogant, insufferably pompous, condescending, and capricious—he truly lived up to the public’s perception of Mr. Grant.

Fury churned in Leo Jennings’s gut. But faced with such a brazenly arrogant Terrence Grant, he could only swallow his anger. Failing to secure the partnership with The Grant Group just meant his company couldn’t take its next step forward for now. But if he actually offended Terrence Grant, this young master could destroy his Habitat Builders in a matter of minutes, just for sport.
