A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 226: Chapter 226: It’s Not Over Yet (4)

”Hughes, see him out.” Terrence Grant had no desire to see him. It was a rare moment for just the two of them, and these living creatures were an eyesore!

Leo Jennings was unhappy about it, but he didn’t dare offend Terrence Grant. He glanced at Seraphina Sterling, but when she didn’t say anything to stop him, he had no choice but to follow Hughes out.

Now only Seraphina Sterling and Terrence Grant were left in the room. Neither had any intention of speaking. They just stared at each other, as childishly as a couple of kindergartners.

”The auction is almost over. Did you see anything you liked? I’ll buy it for you.” In the end, it was Terrence Grant who compromised and spoke first.

”The Jade Bracelet isn’t with me anymore. Everything you’re doing is pointless. And even if I still had it, I wouldn’t trade it!” Seraphina Sterling was still furious about the matter. Even with the unexpected turn of events involving Simon, the fact remained that Terrence Grant had investigated her.

Terrence Grant was so furious he felt his insides ache, his expression as dark as a thundercloud. ”Is Zion Hale really that important to you? Are my gifts so inferior to his?”

”He is important to me! Extremely important!” ’He died in a fire to save me, trading his life for mine! How could he not be important?’

”Seraphina Sterling! You’re ruthless!” With that, Terrence Grant violently kicked over the coffee table. CRASH! He slammed the door on his way out, leaving Seraphina Sterling all alone in the VIP room.

Seraphina Sterling stood by the window, watching one auction item sell after another and listening to the rising bids. The sound of bids for the final item, the Blue and White Porcelain, was especially relentless, bringing the entire auction to its climax.

Seraphina Sterling knew the auction was a success. As the consignor, Apex Collections had garnered immense attention, further cementing its reputation in the world of antique collecting. Meanwhile, Apex Auction House had shot to fame thanks to the record-breaking sales, emerging like a dark horse and charging aggressively into the top ranks of auction houses.

One auction. Apex Collections provided the main lots, and Apex Auction held its debut auction. It was a beautiful execution of killing two birds with one stone. It would be hard to find anyone other than Seraphina Sterling who could pull it off.

’As expected of my old classmate, our teamwork is flawless.’ The success of the Apex Auction was also a testament to Mina Adler’s ability to run the auction house. It was time for her to meet with Mina Adler.

Just as Seraphina Sterling was about to leave the VIP room, an emergency evacuation alarm blared. The auction had just ended, so people were already leaving, but the alarm made everyone surge toward the exits even faster.

The CEOs and magnates, normally so composed, dignified, and imposing, were now running and shoving like a swarm of bees, terrified that a moment’s delay would cost them their lives.

Seraphina Sterling stepped out of the VIP room into a hallway thick with rolling smoke. She couldn’t see a thing. Dropping to her knees, Seraphina tried to see the path ahead and began to crawl forward slowly.

But just as she crouched down, a sharp dagger swung toward her. If she hadn’t reacted in time, she would have been severely wounded at best. The blade would have definitely struck her shoulder.

The fight began in an instant.

In the chaos, Seraphina Sterling fought one against four.

Her opponents were agile and their attacks were vicious, with every strike aimed at a vital point. Even someone like Seraphina Sterling had to calm her mind and focus completely on the fight.

The four attackers quickly sensed that Seraphina Sterling was different. She was incredibly strong, especially the force behind her strikes. A direct hit from her would absolutely cause internal bleeding! That was no laughing matter.
