Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

Yu Bao blinked.

’That’s right, I have Earth Force Field.’ Although the Skill could only control the Earth Element, if he controlled the dust and made it leave, wouldn’t the only thing left be metallic particles...?

SWOOSH— Yu Bao activated his Earth Force Field.

Sand and dust flew, sweeping across the entire Restriction. Under Yu Bao’s control, all the dust within the Restriction’s range departed, leaving behind only metallic particles that glittered with a dark luster, like fine sand.

’That’s it. Now I just need to control them and arrange them evenly.’

He could also control physical Gold Element objects on their own!

Seeing the metallic particles move in an orderly rhythm, Yu Bao couldn’t help but feel a swelling sense of accomplishment.

A Restriction that seemed designed to make a dog’s life difficult had been cleverly cracked by him using two known Skills. ’I really am a genius.’

’Speaking of which, the Skill to control physical Earth Element objects is called Earth Force Field. Shouldn’t I also give my ability to control physical Gold Element objects a name?’

’Since I perfected it while imitating the Radiant Gold Pattern’s circuits, why not call this move Thick Earth Golden Might from now on!’

”There’s a reaction!”

While Yu Bao was mid-air, pondering what would be a cool-sounding name, Su Zhi received feedback from Luo Sen below and clenched his fists in delight.

”Woof?”

”The Restriction has been activated, but it hasn’t opened. You probably haven’t found the right calibration!”

Su Zhi summarized Luo Sen’s words for Yu Bao. ”Adjust it. See if you can find the specific value.”

”Woof,” Yu Bao nodded.

He mobilized the Gold Element Energy within him with increasing proficiency, perceiving and controlling the Energy contained within the metallic particles on the ground.

However, after a long time of trying, Su Zhi still hadn’t given him any feedback.

In the office, Luo Sen and the other two also stared nervously at the screen. A dozen or so technicians tensely monitored the data, afraid of missing any fleeting stream of information.

’This won’t work. If I keep testing it bit by bit, when in the hell will I ever guess the exact Energy Value set by the Restriction’s creator?’

’This is even more exhausting than trying to crack a safe blind.’

’Since he set up this Restriction, which is clearly meant to guide his successors, he must have left other clues...’

Yu Bao’s mind raced.

Just then, Su Zhi suddenly said, ”Last night, you mentioned that Fuguang Lake and Tuoba Jing Village have some sort of connection. Could it be related to the Restriction?”

Yu Bao’s eyes shot wide open.

’That’s right.’ Although the Tuoba Jing Village ruins where he stood were geographically a world away from it, Yu Bao could sense a strange feeling of kinship from both places.

Previously, Yu Bao couldn’t explain why.

But now, the Restriction before him gave him a new line of thought.

’Could it be that this connection stems from the Restriction right here?’

Yu Bao’s two distinct transformations after arriving in Hundred Rivers had come from the bottom of Fuguang Lake and the ancient village ruins, respectively. The first time he clearly perceived the channels of Gold Element Energy in his body was when he entered the lakebed and touched the Golden Sand Flower.

’If that’s the case... I’ll try imitating the state I was in at the bottom of the lake!’

Yu Bao slightly closed his eyes, focusing on sensing the flow of Gold Element Energy within his body. His Energy Control Ability was already outstanding, and by concentrating his entire mind, it was briefly elevated to an unprecedented level.

The memory in his mind suddenly became incredibly clear. In that instant, Yu Bao felt the Gold Element Energy in his body return to the state it was in when he first reached the bottom of the lake.

[Assignable Attribute Points (Yu Bao): ...0.10]

The metallic particles on the ground acted like sensors, recording and transmitting the data to the Restriction the moment Yu Bao achieved this state.

SHING!

A blinding Golden Light erupted in all directions. The three people outside the Restriction were dazzled by the intense light and instinctively turned their heads away.

Only Yu Bao, wearing sunglasses, descended slowly, like a Supreme God.

”...He actually had time to think of that.”

Watching Yu Bao’s ”heroic posture” on the Celestial Eye live feed, Selena, who usually had a cool and detached demeanor, covered her mouth, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

Cui Que, however, frowned and crossed her arms, her eyes still filled with shock. As a ’Nobility’ from a Beast-Taming Family, she knew very well how difficult such a Restriction was to break.

’That kid and his Pet Beast actually broke it...’

Luo Sen, on the other hand, was staring intently at the screen.

”Samika, report on the analysis.”

”The Restriction’s data is normal and stable, with no dangerous fluctuations detected. Preliminary speculation is that this Restriction was set up during the Fifth Hundred Rivers Earthquake, but it’s uncertain if the creator was Tuoba Jing or his teammates.”

”Based on the current feedback, the Restriction doesn’t seem to have any trap-like defense mechanisms. It should be safe to open.”

Luo Sen nodded and picked up the phone. ”It’s open. You guys can go in and check it out.”

Su Zhi: ”Check it out...? What if it’s dangerous?”

Luo Sen: ”That’s not my fault.”

Su Zhi: ”Hey! Yu Bao heard everything! There are no traps!”

Luo Sen: ”Then that settles it.”

”I...” Su Zhi started to speak but stopped, at a loss for words. He stuffed his phone back into his pocket.

He looked up to see the sunglass-wearing Yu Bao walking over slowly, a disdainful, lopsided smirk on his face.

”Woof!”

Dragon King Yu Bao gently lifted his paw. Gravel and metal spiraled and intertwined, this time forming a high-frequency vibrating blade.

Then, the blade shot into the distance at extreme speed, slicing a fallen log—so thick it would take two people to encircle it—clean in half.

Even though it was a plant, the cut surface was as smooth as a mirror. It was hard to imagine that metal and gravel could do such a thing.

After cutting through the wood, the Battle Saber made of sand and Gold flew off into the distance with almost no loss of power, only dissolving back into scattered dust when it was about to fly out of sight.

Su Zhi was both shocked and delighted. ”This is Furious Sand Blade... You can integrate the Gold Element into your other Skills now?”

”Woof!” Yu Bao nonchalantly pushed up his sunglasses.

He called it—Furious Sand Blade: Li Style: Golden Sand Battle Saber.

Feeling the gazes of the other Pet Beasts, Yu Bao smugly raised his head, as if to let their gazes fall on him more evenly.

Then, he waved his paw, putting on a humble appearance.

”Woof woof woof.”

Yu Bao indicated that there was still important business to attend to, so he wouldn’t waste time showing off his other skills.

”La...” Lala looked at Yu Bao with a newfound sense of admiration.

Logically speaking, just after awakening a new Attribute or mastering a new Skill was the perfect time to show off. He hadn’t expected Yu Bao to actually resist the urge!

Yu Bao secretly glanced at him.

’It’s not that I’m resisting the urge to show off... it’s that this is the only skill I’ve mastered so far...’

’Awakening a new Attribute is one thing; integrating it into my original Skills is another. How could it possibly be that fast?’

’Of course, even so, I have to maintain the appearance of ’I’ve actually mastered them all’ to keep up my cool persona. For example, Lala is already completely intimidated by me.’

”I didn’t find any other associated traps or devices in the vicinity. It should be safe.”

Gou Yu carefully checked the area around the Restriction one more time and nodded at Su Zhi. ”Since you’re the one who unlocked the Restriction, you should be the one to open it.”

Shen Chuqing also waved her hand. ”Go on, go on. We can consider our job done.”

”Okay, thank you both for your company these past two days!” Su Zhi cupped his fist in thanks. Just as he was about to call Yu Bao over, he saw that Yu Bao had placed his paw on the Radiant Gold Pattern, his expression suddenly turning grave.

”What’s wrong with Yu Bao?” Seeing his expression, Shen Chuqing instinctively lowered her voice.

Gou Yu’s eyes also sharpened. ”Is there a situation?”

”Shh.” Su Zhi gestured for the two of them to be quiet.

Yu Bao seemed to be focusing all of his attention on perceiving something...

”Woof!” Suddenly, Yu Bao’s eyes flew open.

His grave expression instantly turned to one of utter terror.

Su Zhi froze for a second, then grabbed his phone. ”Yu Bao says... there’s going to be an earthquake!”

”What?”

Far away at the Divine Strategy Alliance, Luo Sen was stunned. Selena and Cui Que were equally astonished.

Luo Sen immediately walked over to the technician in charge of monitoring seismic waves. ”Notify the Hundred Rivers Seismological Bureau immediately! Activate the shell-type anti-seismic systems for Celestial Paradise and surrounding cities to level two!”

The technician was confused. ”But our equipment in Hundred Rivers hasn’t detected any seismic waves...”

”Immediately!” Luo Sen’s tone was emphatic, something he had never used before.

The technician didn’t dare say another word and bent over his console to comply.

A few seconds later, the sound of typing came to an abrupt halt.

In its place was the technician’s trembling voice:

”Seismic waves detected in the Fuguang Lake area! Epicenter depth 739 kilometers! It’s projected to cause... to cause a 9.5 magnitude earthquake!”

The air in the office instantly felt as if it had frozen, broken only by the sound of Selena’s hurried footsteps as she rushed out of the office.
