Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

”Not exactly.”

Luo Sen casually raised a hand. ”According to Su Zhi, his Pet Beast figured out on its own that this method might be worth a try.”

Cui Que was expressionless. ”Do you believe that story yourself?”

Selena whispered, ”It sounds a little absurd, but if it’s Su Zhi’s Pet Beast, then it’s actually somewhat credible.”

Cui Que: ”…”

”Even if it could think of it, putting it into practice isn’t that simple.”

Luo Sen took a casual sip of his milk tea. ”Classical Restrictions are exceptionally sensitive to changes in Energy Values. They only activate when the external Energy Value reaches a specific figure, a requirement so precise it exceeds the minimum measurement of most modern energy monitoring devices.”

”The demands on a Pet Beast’s Energy Control and Perception are so harsh that many Beastmasters find their own pets can’t even open the Restrictions they set themselves. Conversely, other, more capable Pet Beasts might be able to.”

”Later, modern Energy Locks appeared, using unique fluctuations in Energy Value as the verification standard, which is both more secure and more convenient. Classical Restrictions were quickly phased out as a result. Aside from a few Beast-Taming Families that still maintain the tradition, most Restrictions can only be found in museums now.”

”They definitely deserved to be phased out. A requirement that harsh would probably be a struggle even for an Alliance Leader Level Pet Beast,” Selena reflexively agreed.

If she asked her Xue Ao to control its energy output with a precision of less than one unit, it would probably drive Xue Ao mad on the spot.

”But you don’t seem troubled at all,” Cui Que couldn’t help but say. ”In your eyes, this isn’t even a challenge for Su Zhi?”

”Of course.”

”…Is this your intuition again?”

”Alliance Leader Cui Que knows me so well.” Luo Sen grinned.

”Woof-arf!”

After working his tail off for half the day and seeing zero results on the ground, Yu Bao couldn’t help but let out a curse in the Yu Dian Dog tongue.

”Woowoo~” From a short distance away, Wu Bao jeered heartlessly.

”Good boys don’t use bad words, you know,” Su Zhi said, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. ”If you’re not making any progress, why don’t you come down for now?”

Yu Bao shook his head.

’I’m already here, I have to see this through.’

’This is so weird. According to my own logic, this method should be flawless. So why am I working myself to death up here while the Restriction below doesn’t even twitch?’

”Chirp,” Shan Bao said thoughtfully, raising a foot to answer.

Could it be because your Earth Force Field is pure Earth Element?

”!” Yu Bao’s eyes flew wide open.

’That’s it! The Field Attribute here is Earth and Gold Dual Element. It would be a miracle if I got a reaction using only an Earth Element Skill.’

And right now, Yu Bao had only two usable Earth-Gold Element Dual Skills: Yellow Earth Wall and Sandstorm… No, Sandstorm Iron Shattering Array.

’Must maintain the coolness factor at all times.jpg’

Su Zhi helpfully reminded him, ”You only have Yellow Earth Wall. You only used that Sandstorm variation once before you couldn’t do it again.”

”…” Yu Bao’s face went stiff.

’Great reminder. Next time, don’t remind me!’

However, Su Zhi’s reminder truly put Yu Bao in a bind. Earth Force Field was the best Skill for controlling Earth Element Energy and physical earth, and Yu Bao had used it to pull off plenty of fancy tricks.

But at its current stage, Yu Bao’s Earth Force Field could only control the Earth Element, which didn’t meet the Attribute requirements of the Classical Array.

Among all his Skills, only Sandstorm Iron Shattering Array was relatively close to Earth Force Field.

Although it was an AoE skill, getting all that dust and all those metal particles to arrange themselves according to the Array’s requirements was a bit much to ask of a dog. But for Yu Bao, whose Perception was as high as 4.20, it wasn’t impossible. It would just take some time.

’But the free trial for Sandstorm Iron Shattering Array has already been used up…’

’All I have is Yellow Earth Wall. How am I supposed to spread this thing evenly on the ground?’

Yu Bao clutched his head in agony, his guts green with regret. ’If I had known it was a Limited Skill, I wouldn’t have shown off last night. What a catastrophic loss…’

’What do I do now? I can’t just let this clue, which was so hard to find, slip away, can I?’

Yu Bao stared glumly at the few broken wall sections, then suddenly seemed lost in thought.

’My Ponderin’ Power is activating again.’

’It was true that these broken wall sections corresponded to a few of the more vivid nodes on the Radiant Gold Pattern, which was why I immediately thought of tracing the pattern.’

’But what if that’s not the right method?’

’But if it’s not that method, then what other method could it be…’

Yu Bao sat cross-legged on the ground like a person, propping his chin up with a front paw. The sight of him staring thoughtfully at the broken walls was so mysteriously comical that even Su Zhi didn’t have the heart to disturb him.

If thoughts were visible streams of fluid, Yu Bao’s mind would be a swirling, turbulent torrent right now.

’Current clues: broken walls, Radiant Gold Pattern.’

’Current conditions: Dual Attribute Yellow Earth Wall, my own limited ability to control the Gold Attribute.’

’Wait…’

’They’re both walls!’

Yu Bao’s eyes lit up. He shot up with a THUMP, startling Su Zhi, who had been about to call out to him.

”Woof-woof-woof!”

”You want to replace those broken walls with your own Yellow Earth Wall?!”

Hearing Yu Bao’s new idea, Su Zhi shuddered and quickly hugged his leg. ”You can’t do that, Master Yu! If you break the ruins, we couldn’t afford to pay for it even if I sold you!”

”Let him do it. I’ll take full responsibility.”

Hearing Luo Sen’s voice come from the phone, the bickering Envoy’s Pets all stopped in their tracks.

In the office, Cui Que whipped her head toward Luo Sen, her voice ice-cold. ”The project you submitted only allows team members to enter the ruins and conduct limited activities. Causing significant damage or destruction to the ruins is strictly forbidden!”

Luo Sen: ”Oh.”

Cui Que had expected him to at least argue a little, but he didn’t even spare her a glance. Her light green eyes widened in disbelief.

’My fists are clenched!’

Selena quietly tried to mediate, ”Senior, please calm down…”

Despite this, when there was new movement at the ancient village ruins, all three of them instinctively turned their gazes to the large screen.

No matter their disagreements, what was happening thousands of kilometers away was their biggest concern at the moment.

”Woof!”

After shoving Su Zhi aside, Yu Bao activated his Sand Manipulation Technique, flew back into the air, and began to unleash his Divine Abilities.

A pale yellow Light Array with silver edges lit up directly beneath the broken wall sections, passing slowly upward through them.

The New Yellow Earth Wall was a product of the high-level fusion of Earth and Gold Element Energy, with a uniformity of distribution and tightness of bond that far surpassed any naturally occurring ore.

Wherever the Light Array passed, the original, classical brick-and-stone walls vanished, replaced by a Yellow Earth Wall that shimmered with a dark, metallic luster.

Yu Bao’s control was as precise as a scalpel. While perfectly replicating the original broken walls, he didn’t even disturb the vegetation growing on them.

Shen Chuqing watched in astonishment. ”This is just incomprehensible… To have Energy Control this precise… Is that really a Yu Dian Dog?”

”It’s not just about Yu Dian Dogs… I’m afraid no other Pet Beast of the same level can compare to Yu Bao in this one specific area.”

Xun Yu said with emotion, ”Even I would have to take a step back.”

”…Where does he get the nerve?” In the office, Cui Que’s mouth twitched.

Luo Sen chuckled softly. ”It seems the Dark Alliance’s ideological work has been quite effective. Everyone is quite confident.”

Cui Que rolled her eyes and turned her head away.

Selena suddenly exclaimed, ”Look! There’s a reaction!”

”Hm?” Cui Que immediately snapped her gaze back to the screen—

The Celestial Eye zoomed out, displaying the entire Tuoba Jing Village ruins on the screen. The moment Yu Bao finished replacing all the broken walls, the Yellow Earth Walls he had created erupted with a brilliant Golden Light.

Yu Bao’s eyes widened in surprise.

’I know this light effect! Isn’t this the effect for Thick Earth Blessing? But I didn’t activate it, so why is it…’

Before Yu Bao could figure it out, the Golden Light from the Yellow Earth Walls quickly faded.

No, it wasn’t so much fading as it was sinking. All the light flowed to the sides of the Yellow Earth Walls, then poured into the ground, spreading out in all directions…

Before long, the dazzling Golden Light stopped spreading and slowly settled into a pale gold.

From an observer’s perspective, the paths seemed to have no discernible pattern, appearing completely random. But from his high vantage point in the sky, Yu Bao could see it with perfect clarity—

It was identical to the Radiant Gold Pattern on that skull!
