Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

”Lala?!”

Feeling a slight pain above its mouth, Lala quickly stuck out its tongue to lick the spot. Realizing what it must look like now, its face instantly flushed beet-red.

’Damn you! How dare you humiliate me!’

”(⌓‿⌓)” Yu Bao wore a faint smile, sitting up perfectly straight as if the numerous large and small wounds on his body didn’t exist at all.

”Chirp!” Down below the stage, Shan Bao’s eyes sparkled as she bounced on the spot with excitement.

’She knew it! Her wise big brother Yu Bao wouldn’t get beaten so badly! This must be part of his strategy!’

”Mee...” Mimi’s gaze toward Yu Bao was also filled with adoration.

’So he was deliberately showing an opening. I have to say, it was incredibly convincing. I really thought Yu Bao was being completely overpowered...’

’Yu Bao! You’re amazing!’

Yu Bao endured the pain racking his body and gently curled the corner of his lip, flashing his two fangirls the same smirk as the crooked-mouthed Dragon King.

In truth, Lala was quite a handful. He really had been beaten into a sorry state, and that last scene wasn’t an act...

’But even if I did get my ass kicked, I have to act like everything is under control. A confident, self-assured look is the only way to have style.’

’Posing Style, Form Two: The Great Art of Faking It ’Til You Make It!’

Could Hundred Rivers’s little Round Pepper do that?

Across the stage, Lala saw Mimi’s adoring expression and got so angry it ground its teeth, smoke practically fuming from its head. Yu Bao’s move was a masterful psychological blow.

Shen Chuqing’s beautiful eyes widened as well, her golden pupils trembling slightly.

’Yu Bao’s Quicksand Shield... turned directly into a Furious Sand Blade in mid-air? He can switch between his Skills seamlessly?’

’But when did he learn to do that? He clearly didn’t have this ability during the selection tournament finals!’

’No, measuring this by time might be inappropriate. After all, this has more to do with comprehension.’

The essence of all Skills is to organize Energy in a specific way to produce a certain Effect. The essence of switching Skills, then, is to deconstruct the already-organized Energy and then reorganize it in a different way.

What Yu Bao did was equivalent to skipping the deconstruction step, directly reorganizing the already-formed Energy to achieve a seamless switch.

Theoretically, it was indeed possible.

However, the difficulty wasn’t as simple as just saving one step. It was equivalent to deriving a third method of organization based on the first two... If one couldn’t figure out this step, they might never master it in their entire life.

It was only then that Shen Chuqing truly understood why Su Zhi was so powerful. He was changing almost constantly!

”Lala, get a grip! Yu Bao definitely has more than just this one trick. Be on guard for variations of his other Skills!”

”La!”

Lala cried out in response and charged at Yu Bao a second time.

Dense red Light Arrays appeared on the ground as Giant Fire Pillars erupted, piercing upwards to envelop Yu Bao. The White Flame·Blade Form was activated again, stabbing through the gaps between the pillars and sealing off nearly every path of escape.

At the same time, the flames surging upward from the Giant Fire Pillars formed a fiery curtain, sealing off the top to prevent Yu Bao from using his Sand Manipulation Technique to kite his opponent.

A Fire Element Low Level Elite Skill, Flame Splendor Plate.

Although Lala was angry, it wasn’t stupid. It appeared fiercer than before, but its skill execution had honestly become much more cautious.

This time, it had prepared an Ambush from Ten Directions, tailor-made for Yu Bao!

”Woof!” Yu Bao simply broke through the technique with brute force, activating Thick Earth Blessing to envelop himself and charging out of the cage.

Simultaneously, multiple Yellow Earth Walls rose up, blocking all of Lala’s White Flame Blade Forms.

The Giant Fire Pillars could only serve to restrict him; faced with a Yu Bao dead set on breaking out, they seemed somewhat lacking.

This was the drawback of Fire Element Skills. Although they excelled at offense, they were relatively lacking in powerful control methods. Even though Lala knew which tactics to choose, it was willing but lacked the power to execute them.

”SWISH SWISH SWISH!”

The moment he broke out, the Yellow Earth Walls transformed directly into Furious Sand Blades and shot whistling toward Lala.

Unexpectedly for Yu Bao, Lala actually adapted quickly to his dense barrage of skills. It even anticipated that he might transform the Yellow Earth Walls into a counterattack, so instead of getting entangled in a close fight, it decisively retreated.

’This isn’t how I planned it! Shouldn’t Lala have made a ”The Yellow Earth Walls can counterattack?!” face and then been taken out by my combo?’

’Damn it!!!’

Failing to pull off the pose he’d been aiming for, Yu Bao licked his lips in frustration, his attacks growing even more ferocious.

The Furious Sand Blades grew denser, the Quicksand Shields more cunningly placed, and the transformations between different Skills became bizarrely unpredictable. Even Su Zhi, watching from a commander’s perspective, found it difficult to predict Yu Bao’s next move!

’He really does value posing more than his own life...’ Su Zhi covered his face, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

”Lalalala!” Lala dodged and weaved, caught completely off guard.

Yu Bao’s Continuous Combo was simply too dense. His control over his Skills, in particular, was outrageously good. He could simultaneously cast and switch between multiple Skills without any hint of chaos, even managing to create synergy between them.

Compared to this overwhelming display of skill synergy, Lala’s previous offensive looked as crude as child’s play.

What was even stranger was that it had no idea what had gotten into Yu Bao. He had clearly been in a sorry state just a moment ago, but now he was suddenly fighting with such desperation, as if Lala owed him money...

Lala didn’t dare to counterattack or defend at all. It could only trade space for time, constantly retreating to evade the encroaching sand and wind, and was soon backed up to the edge of the stage.

”Woof!” Yu Bao narrowed his eyes. Five Furious Sand Blades circled behind him, forming a Great Emperor’s halo effect.

’Surrender! Those who chant my true name amidst the cycle of reincarnation shall receive eternal life!’

”La...” At the edge of the stage, Lala struggled to lift its head, looking as if it was about to collapse but with an unyielding glint still in its eyes.
