Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

”CHIRP CHIRP!”

Shan Bao chirped, trying to say that Big Brother Yu Bao had been through so many battles and must be mentally and physically exhausted by now.

She should be the one to face this opponent.

’My Beast Tamer, please don’t worry! Shan Bao will give it her all!!!’

Shan Bao stood before Su Zhi, giving everyone behind her a determined look, presenting a surprisingly reliable-looking back.

’Win or lose, Shan Bao gets to add stat points in the end. This is a surefire win either way.’

”...” Yu Bao opened his mouth, then closed it.

’He wanted to say that he was actually in great shape, especially after his recent training session at Fuguang Lake. His body was feeling quite sturdy.’

’But since it was Shan Bao, he’d let her have her way~’

’If Wu Bao had been the one to ask, he would have dragged it away no matter what. ’What kind of trash Black Fighting Emperor dares to steal my spotlight?’’

Wu Bao rolled its eyes at Yu Bao, pointedly ignoring him.

’Isn’t this just about adding some stat points? What’s with this weird Japanese Anime vibe...’ Watching Shan Bao strike a somewhat deliberate pose, Su Zhi felt both exasperated and amused. He made up his mind.

’He didn’t really want to fight, but since Shan Bao had volunteered, he might as well have a little fun.’

”Alright! I’m all fired up! I’ll summon my Pet Beast, too!”

Sensing the young man’s burning battle intent, a light sparked in Gou Yu’s eyes.

Su Zhi’s brow furrowed slightly.

’He’s a Vice Alliance Leader, after all. No matter how unimpressive he might seem, he’s probably not someone I can mess with at my current level. Selena is incredibly powerful and she’s not even a Vice Alliance Leader, so you can imagine how prestigious the title is.’

’Selena has a Tier Six Beast Taming Space. This guy Gou should be at least Tier Six, right? Maybe even Tier Seven...’

As he pondered, Su Zhi saw a pale blue Light Array materialize at Gou Yu’s feet.

Su Zhi: ”...?”

Then, the Light Array slowly expanded. A round, plump head poked out, followed by a long, slender, rod-like body.

Su Zhi: ”???”

[Pet Beast: Big Stick Night Watchman (Bamboo Mushroom)

Attribute: Wood Element, Fighting Element

Race: High Level Elite Race

Real-time Energy Value: 3413]

’Never mind its ridiculous appearance, what about that name, which was just begging to be roasted... And if I’m not mistaken, is this guy Gou’s Beast Taming Space pale blue, just like mine?’

’A whole Vice Alliance Leader only has a Tier Four Beast Taming Space? And his Pet Beast’s Energy Value is that low?’

Gou Yu raised his chin, thinking he looked quite majestic.

”What do you think?”

”I honestly didn’t expect you to be this... weak. Er, no, I mean—ahem.”

Gou Yu: ”...”

Shen Chuqing twisted the knife, ”I already told you he was lame.”

Gou Yu’s face flushed red with indignation. ”So what? A Beast Taming Space and Energy Value aren’t the only measures of a Beast Tamer’s strength! Alliance Leader Luo Sen of the Divine Strategy Alliance only has a Tier One Beast Taming Space, and his Pet Beast isn’t even One-star!”

”Yeah, yeah, whatever you say,” Shen Chuqing said dismissively, turning her attention back to her own pet.

”...” Su Zhi opened his mouth, then thought better of it.

’What was he thinking, using Luo Sen as an example? Is he not afraid of getting abducted and dissected one day...? Besides, there’s more to Luo Sen’s Pet Beast than just ”not even One-star.” That guy is basically using a cheat code...’

”Woof!” Yu Bao couldn’t hold it in and burst out laughing.

’That Pet Beast... it looks like a dick! HAHAHAHA!’

”SHROOM!” Big Stick hopped up and down in frustration.

Su Zhi watched it hop around, hands in his pockets.

’Have to admit, it really does look a bit like a dick... Ahem. Good kids, don’t repeat that.’

”SHROOM!” Big Stick turned its blazing, battle-ready gaze toward Shan Bao.

Shan Bao thought for a moment, then her eyes lit up with understanding. She broke into a smile that was the spitting image of Yu Bao’s:

”⌓‿⌓”

’Big Brother Yu Bao said you just have to smile in situations like this.jpeg’

”Can we start?” Gou Yu asked, rubbing his hands together eagerly.

Su Zhi nodded. As he watched the two Pet Beasts walk out into an open area, he couldn’t help but turn and ask, ”This Bamboo Mushroom... is it your Sub-Pet?”

”Ah, no, it’s my Main Pet. Isn’t he cute?”

Su Zhi: ”...”

’To be a Vice Alliance Leader and be... like this... Senior Gou must be one of a kind in the Common Defense Alliance.’

’Seriously, did he not just buy his way into this position...?’

”SHROOM!” ”CHIRP!”

The two Pet Beasts exchanged greetings, then each retreated several meters. The spar began!

”Shan Bao, take flight! Watch out for its charge!” Su Zhi quickly got into the zone. Since it was a spar, he was naturally going to give it his all.

Although Vice Alliance Leader Gou was surprisingly weak, that was only in comparison to other Alliance Leaders and Vice Alliance Leaders. Big Stick’s Energy Value was still nearly a thousand points higher than Shan Bao’s. This fight wouldn’t be easy.

Besides, it was a Fighting Pet Beast.

Not all Fighting Element pets were cowardly like Wu Bao. You couldn’t be fooled by the Bamboo Mushroom’s harmless appearance; they were actually fierce and belligerent creatures.

There was once an incident where a female streamer bought a wild Bamboo Mushroom to use for... certain unmentionable activities. She ended up getting brutally beaten by it. If the viewers in her live chat hadn’t called the Holy Order Alliance authorities for her, she might not have made it...

After that, a law prohibiting non-Beast Tamers from raising or purchasing Bamboo Mushrooms was added to the Common Defense Alliance’s administrative code.

Anyone who dared to underestimate these little round-headed creatures would pay a heavy price.

”SHROOM SHROOM!”

”BANG!”

Just as Su Zhi expected, Big Stick opened with a ferocious charge.

Shan Bao took flight just in time to avoid the hit. The attack slammed into a nearby rock, shattering the half-man-sized boulder to pieces.

”Chirp...” Shan Bao blinked, a flicker of fear in her eyes.

’That... stick... is it really that hard?’

”SHROOM!”

Big Stick didn’t stop its assault just because Shan Bao was airborne. The ground around it began to crackle as several long plants burst through the soil.

Bamboo Mushroom Racial Skill: Boxing Mushroom Forest!

At first glance, it looked a bit like Xiaoyue’s Deep Forest Grip. A closer look, however, revealed that they weren’t Vines, but a forest of long, slender mushrooms.
