Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

”Yeah, but...” Liu Yuhang leaned close to Katie’s ear and whispered, ”They probably can’t beat us...”

”We’re just supposed to be helping them train. Who said you had to go all out?”

Katie shot Liu Yuhang a fierce glare.

At the same time, she glanced nervously at Fang Yuan, afraid he would say something like, ’On second thought, let’s just forget it.’

’Please, please... don’t call it off!’

But Katie’s worries were for naught.

After a moment of thought, Fang Yuan quickly decided to grant their request.

The most common application for a Pet Beast’s Skills is in the heat of battle. A Pet Beast in a combat state is typically highly focused, making its ability to observe and learn several times more efficient than during regular training.

Shanda University Affiliated School had run similar simulations, placing Pet Beasts in hyper-realistic combat environments to stimulate them into mastering more complex Skills.

’But if the opponents are people we know, there might not be enough pressure. That’s a problem...’

Fang Yuan glanced at Xu Ruo. ”Hang on, we need to discuss something.”

”Oh! Okay!” Xu Ruo immediately took two steps back. She obediently watched as Fang Yuan huddled with the other two, exchanged a few words, and then walked back to her side.

”Um, what did you guys talk about?” Xu Ruo asked quietly.

Fang Yuan said impassively, ”We’re going to have a doubles match against them. We’ve added some stakes.”

”What kind of stakes?” Xu Ruo asked, nervously tugging at the hem of her shirt.

Of course, there weren’t any stakes. They had just agreed to tell her that. Looking at the nervous girl before him, Fang Yuan’s lips curved into a smirk as he casually made something up. ”The losing side can’t come to the Battle Hall for a month.”

”!” Xu Ruo’s eyes widened.

’The penalty is that severe?! Is this what a high-stakes match is like?’

The girl immediately bowed and shouted at the top of her lungs, ”I’ll do my absolute best!!!”

”Alright, alright... Let’s get ready to start.” Fang Yuan flinched involuntarily before tucking his hands in his pockets to feign composure. He watched the girl dash onto the platform and let out a sigh.

’Was all that really necessary...? Is not being able to come to the Battle Hall such a big deal to her?’

”Ruff ruff ruff. Ruff ruff ruff.”

”Alright, alright... Time to get started.”

In his air-conditioned room, on his king-sized bed, Su Zhi heard the barking and sleepily fumbled around. His hand finally found a dog’s head, and he switched off the Yu Bao-brand alarm clock.

For the price of just one bowl of pet food per day, he got a punctual wake-up call, complete with a variety of personal Earth Element Skills to prevent oversleeping. An extremely useful service, it must be said.

Seeing Yu Bao’s eager expression, Su Zhi let out a wry laugh. ”So now you remember I’m the Beast Tamer? I have to say, I preferred it when you were wild and rebellious, treating *me* like the Pet Beast.”

*PANT, PANT.* Yu Bao started licking his leg enthusiastically.

”Alright, alright...” Su Zhi, not knowing whether to laugh or cry, placed a hand on Yu Bao’s head and began to allocate his Points.

[Pet Beast: Yu Bao (Yu Dian Farm Dog)

Power: 1.30

Agility: 2.26

Intelligence: 3.30 -> 3.39

Constitution: 1.42

Perception: 3.99 -> 4.20]

[Real-time Energy Value: 5495]

”ARF!” The moment the Points were allocated, Yu Bao excitedly tested its ability to control the Elements.

Under Yu Bao’s control, the dust motes in the room gathered, swirled, floated, and molded themselves into a shape, eventually forming the faint outline of a human body—it was Su Zhi.

Despite being made of dust, its facial features were exceptionally clear. It had even captured the look in his eyes.

Under Yu Bao’s control, the dust-sculpture of Su Zhi even blinked and raised a hand in a greeting.

”That’s amazing...” A smile crept into Su Zhi’s eyes as he watched the little guy’s carefully prepared gift.

By allocating all of its accumulated Points at once, Yu Bao’s Perception officially broke the 4.0 threshold.

A Perception stat four times the average for a Yu Dian Farm Dog granted Yu Bao unparalleled Energy Control and sensory abilities. At this point, there were very few fancy tricks it couldn’t pull off.

Of course, thanks to Yu Bao’s persistence, Su Zhi hadn’t forgotten to add some Points to its Intelligence as well. It was a rather esoteric stat that seemed useless, but you never knew when it might come in handy...

”Woof!”

Under Yu Bao’s control, the dust sculpture transformed into the image of Shao Ya and gave Su Zhi a life-like wave.

Dust particles were smaller than common sand or dirt, allowing for richer expression through specific arrangements. With Yu Bao’s precise control, the dust even took on visual color.

The white hair, the sapphire-blue eyes—it was an almost perfect replica of her. Even the body structure and impressive curves were recreated with startling accuracy.

Then, under Su Zhi’s approving gaze, the dust maiden slowly undid a button at her chest, and then...

”Okay, I get it. You’ve been putting Points into Intelligence.”

Su Zhi pressed down on Yu Bao’s paw with grave importance. ”Anymore and this won’t get past the censors. Just... do it for me again tonight, secretly.”

”Woof,” Yu Bao replied, giving him a cool guy’s nod of approval.

A moment of masculine understanding.

”Chirp!”

Just then, a Light Blue Beast Taming Array lit up. Shan Bao was awake.

Seeing Su Zhi and Yu Bao, Shan Bao immediately understood what had just happened and pouted coquettishly.

’How could you get stronger behind my back again? Am I not your little darling anymore?’

Su Zhi blinked. ”But you already got your Points allocated after yesterday’s quiz. There aren’t any new ones yet.”

”Chirp chirp?”

”Because Yu Bao didn’t get his allocated right after his quiz. Besides, he sparred with Lala this morning.”

”Chirp...” Shan Bao let out a defeated sigh.

’This world is so cruel to us wash-ups. The only warmth left is in the Tier Four Beast Taming Space.’

’Shan Bao, oh Shan Bao, you can’t go on like this!’

”Chirp!” Shan Bao hopped onto Su Zhi’s chest, nuzzling against him repeatedly.

”Alright, alright, I promise I’ll let you go first in the next battle!” Su Zhi said, exasperated, as he ruffled the little creature’s head.

He didn’t stay idle at noon, either. After a nap of just over ten minutes, he got up to begin his Meditation.
