You Were Told to Design Software, But You Created Tiktok?!

247: Section 247Not long after Meituan discovered the community group buying sector, a large amount of other capital poured in.

Even though Meituan had many inherent advantages, it ultimately only secured thirty percent of this market share.

This is enough to show just how exaggerated the investment of other major internet companies in this sector was.

It can even be said that when the Meituan Select feature was at its most popular in his previous life, half of the users who opened Meituan did so for Meituan Select.

Ordinary offline group buying attracts young people with spending power, while Meituan Select, based on community group buying, attracts older users who are more interested in discounts on daily necessities.

And this time, Wang Mo does not plan to launch this feature later.

Instead, he decided to directly incorporate the Meituan Select feature into Meituan 5.9 from the start.

At the same time, because this feature requires extremely high offline operational deployment, it needs its own logistics lines and warehouses to store various Meituan Select products.

These logistics lines and warehouses cannot be established in a short period.

Currently, other group buying software on the market basically do not have the conditions to operate community group buying features.

Even Penguin Group Buying, if it wanted to launch a community group buying feature in a short time, would give up due to insufficient conditions.

As for Meituan, as early as when he decided to launch this software, Wang Mo had already begun to secretly arrange Meituan Select’s offline logistics.

Coupled with Pinduoduo’s existing logistics system assistance, the various launch conditions for Meituan Select are now almost mature.

And this will be the key for Meituan to break through the encirclement!

Chapter 174: Extremely High Retention Rate, Shocked Zhang Fan!

Meanwhile, in Wang Mo’s office.

Seeing Wang Mo’s confidence in the Meituan Select feature, Zhang Fan no longer had any doubts.

But soon, he thought of another problem.

“But Boss,”

“Even if this Meituan Select can directly push Penguin Group Buying and other software out of the Lower-Tier Market, what about the takeaway sector?”

“Because previously, we put a lot of our offline operational effort into the deployment of Meituan Select, resulting in less investment in the takeaway feature.”

“Now, let alone Ele.me, even Baidu Takeout and Penguin Group Buying’s takeaway services have surpassed us in this aspect.”

“Even if we can gain a firm foothold in the group buying sector, what about the takeaway sector?”

Zhang Fan’s concerns were not unfounded.

After all, for the takeaway feature in Meituan, Wang Mo was very strict with both merchants and riders.

This led to Meituan Takeaway’s promotion and deployment speed being much slower than other takeaway software.

Facing Zhang Fan’s concern, Wang Mo smiled again.

“Don’t worry.”

“Once Meituan is free, it can move into the takeaway sector.”

“Neither Ele.me nor any other takeaway software will be a match for Meituan Takeaway by then.”

“To quickly capture the market, they have low requirements for merchants and no training or restrictions for riders. This method is like pulling up seedlings to help them grow; although the initial data looks good, there will be many problems later.”

“Moreover,”

Wang Mo paused, then pointed to his brain.

“Many of the operational plans for the takeaway sector are still in my mind.”

“Even if they run dozens or hundreds of steps ahead, we will be able to easily surpass them then.”

Listening to Wang Mo’s words, Zhang Fan couldn’t help but let out a breath and nodded.

Although he didn’t know what Wang Mo’s operational plans for the takeaway sector were, he knew that his boss would definitely deliver on his promises.

Since his boss wasn’t worried, he had even less reason to worry.

However, just as Zhang Fan was about to leave Wang Mo’s office, he thought of something else.

“Oh, by the way, Boss.”

“Currently, all other major group buying software outside have basically disclosed their registered user numbers or daily active user numbers.”

“Many internet users are asking for our data every day. Should we disclose it?”

Wang Mo pondered for a moment.

“What are the approximate numbers for other software now?”

Zhang Fan thought for a moment.

“Penguin Group Buying released its latest data yesterday; their registered user count exceeded forty-five million, and their daily active users exceeded fifteen million.”

“They should be the software with the most daily active users currently.”

Hearing this, Wang Mo smiled.

“Most daily active users?”

Wang Mo looked at Zhang Fan.

“Do you know Meituan’s current user numbers?”

Zhang Fan scratched his head.

“Although I care a lot about Meituan, I spend most of my time on Douyin, so I don’t know Meituan’s specific data.”

“I also wanted to ask about this when I came here.”

“Boss, what is Meituan Select’s user count?”

Upon hearing this, Wang Mo slowly took a deep breath.

“Meituan’s registered users are around twenty million.”

Hearing this, Zhang Fan slowly nodded.

“That’s about right.”

“Outside estimates for Meituan are also this number.”

“After all, although Meituan has occupied many third- and fourth-tier cities, it hasn’t thoroughly promoted itself, so this number is normal.”

“Since the registered users are twenty million, Meituan’s daily active users should also be seven or eight million.”

“This number can barely touch the tail end of the first-tier group buying software, but compared to Penguin Group Buying’s fifteen million, it’s still quite far off.”

Hearing this, Wang Mo smiled.

“Don’t compare Meituan with Penguin Group Buying and other group buying software.”

“Their software’s daily active user conversion rate is one-third, but that doesn’t mean Meituan’s conversion rate is the same.”

Zhang Fan heard something in Wang Mo’s words and instantly became excited.

“Boss, you mean that Meituan’s daily active user count is not that low?”

Just as Wang Mo opened his mouth to say something,
