You Were Told to Design Software, But You Created Tiktok?!

205: Section 205Magic City.

Penguin Group Building.

Inside the chairman’s office on the top floor.

At this time, it was just a few hours after WeChat announced its daily active users.

After he learned of WeChat’s latest daily active users during a video call with Ma Liuyun, Ma immediately convened the senior executives of Penguin Group to discuss how to deal with WeChat.

Because the current WeChat...

It was no longer just a software that had barely found its footing, but a true threat to QQ’s existence.

”Mr. Ma.”

”Almost everyone is here.”

”This time, are we really not having a video conference with Ali Group anymore?”

Li Wenqiu’s voice rang out.

Listening to his words, Ma directly shook his head.

After a few hours of calm and contemplation, he had understood.

It was likely that after this, they and Ali Group would no longer be able to maintain a cooperative relationship.

”No need.”

”Cooperation with Ali Group can also be temporarily suspended.”

”We also don’t need to tell Ma Liuyun and the others the information we know.”

Listening to Ma’s words, Li Wenqiu’s eyes showed a lot of doubt.

”Why?”

”Isn’t the current WeChat a common opponent for both of our groups?”

”Why don’t we continue to maintain close contact with Ali Group?”

Facing Li Wenqiu’s question, Ma shook his head.

”You’ll know in a moment.”

After speaking,

Ma looked at the others in the room.

”You all should know WeChat’s latest daily active user data, right?”

Everyone nodded.

”Then, in your opinion, whose user stickiness is higher, WeChat’s or our QQ’s?”

Facing Ma’s question, everyone looked at each other.

It was Ma Liuyun who spoke first.

”Overall,”

”Our core users’ stickiness to QQ is still far greater than that of WeChat users.”

”After all, WeChat has only been launched for less than half a year, while our QQ has been a software launched for nearly twenty years, and many users have already made using QQ a habit.”

”This kind of user loyalty to software is something that the current WeChat does not yet possess.”

Listening to Ma Liuyun’s words,

Ma directly shook his head.

”Before the appearance of Weixin Wallet, we could indeed say that.”

”But now, the user stickiness within WeChat is probably no worse than our user stickiness.”

Hearing this, everyone was a bit confused, and Ma continued to explain.

”The last data released by WeChat showed that daily active users were only 150 million, and payment users were only 60 million, meaning that only almost one-third of WeChat users had activated Weixin Wallet.”

”Such low data indicates that most WeChat users still use it as a chat software, and not many people have activated Weixin Wallet.”

”But now, this data...”

Ma paused.

”It has reached an extremely exaggerated level.”

”WeChat’s daily active users have increased from 150 million to 350 million, and the number of Weixin Wallet activators has surged from 60 million to 300 million!”

”This is not just a simple increase in the number of WeChat users, but also an increase in the number of online payment users.”

”Now, most WeChat users have already activated Weixin Wallet.”

”The two can almost be discussed as one entity.”

Ma looked at the others in the office.

”Do you know what this represents?”

Facing Ma’s question, everyone shook their heads.

After learning WeChat’s latest daily active user data, they hadn’t had time to consider the other impacts this data had on WeChat.

Looking at everyone’s ignorance, Ma slowly exhaled.

”This means that...”

”Our subsequent discussions about the number of WeChat users are actually also discussions about these online payment users.”

”All of our previous experience with chat software users cannot be applied to this group of WeChat users.”

”Because WeChat users, in some respects, are not the same as the chat software users we understood before; they are also users of online payment software.”

”We all knew before that if a chat software had problems with its chat function, it would definitely lead to a large loss of users.”

”But WeChat is different.”

”Even if WeChat’s chat function has problems, a large number of users will still be retained because of its payment function.”

Ma paused.

”Although currently, most of WeChat’s wallet users activated Weixin Wallet due to previous promotions and don’t use Weixin Wallet much in their daily lives...”

”But...”

”As long as they still have WeChat on their phones,”

”Then, as time passes, as long as these older users discover the advantages of online payment, and as long as WeChat continuously introduces payment discount activities in the wallet, these users will eventually become long-term users of Weixin Wallet.”

”By then,”

”WeChat’s user stickiness may even surpass our QQ’s.”

As Ma’s voice fell, everyone’s expressions in the room changed.

Because this information was not good news for them.

But no one there knew yet.

What Ma was about to say next was the key to truly making them realize the power of WeChat.

”And this...”

”Is not the most crucial part.”

Ma’s voice continued to ring out.

”Do you still remember why WeChat’s user count increased this month?”

”Because of the previous Weixin Wallet rural promotion campaign.”

Someone said.

Listening to this, Ma also nodded.

”That’s right.”

”Most of WeChat’s new users now downloaded WeChat because of its payment function.”

”But now,”

”Regardless of whether they continue to use Weixin Wallet, they have already been converted into WeChat’s chat users.”

”And before,”

”Among the users who downloaded the software for WeChat’s chat and social functions, a large number of people also activated Weixin Wallet during this 5.9 period.”

Ma paused.

Then he took a deep breath, his expression also somewhat serious.

”In other words,”

”WeChat now actually has two channels for increasing user numbers: the chat direction and the payment direction, but no matter which direction they use to increase user numbers, these users will be simultaneously converted into users in the other field.”

”WeChat’s rural campaign last month has already proven this point.”
