You Were Told to Design Software, But You Created Tiktok?!

229: Section 229“What good fortune, my ass. When everyone’s amount is basically averaged, I’ll get a few more cents and then it’ll be my turn to send.”

Before this trending topic appeared, many people actually didn’t know about the Red Envelope game.

Tencent also intentionally blocked related videos about the Red Envelope in their software.

But with this trending topic, it almost made everyone else aware of this new game launched by WeChat.

For a time, the growth rate of WeChat users increased significantly.

Conversely, QQ saw a loss of users.

After all, most of QQ’s users are young demographics, and these people naturally love all kinds of trendy games and things.

When the Red Envelope, which is now popular across the entire network, doesn’t exist on QQ, they naturally choose another chat software.

The most crucial point is that Tencent’s internal team now clearly understands that WeChat’s functions are already quite comprehensive in all aspects, and its user base has been established.

User loyalty is also far from what it was when WeChat was first launched.

WeChat is not like before, where users who downloaded WeChat for certain features would return to QQ after QQ copied those features.

At this current point in time, no matter why QQ users download WeChat, they will gradually convert into WeChat users in the future.

This is why Tencent is so anxious.

However, even though QQ’s internal team is still making continuous efforts, hoping to quickly launch QQ’s Red Envelope function, after this last trending topic that broke the camel’s back appeared, most people within Tencent clearly understood that QQ’s dominant position would probably not last much longer.

As for Ali Group, Old Ma almost gave up resistance the moment he saw the Red Envelope sweeping across the Yan Country.

Originally, Blue Wallet had launched its own Huabei at the first announcement of Huabei’s overdue rate, stopping user loss much earlier than QQ.

Afterward, to maintain their leading position in the payment field, they constantly watched every move of WeChat.

However, the emergence of the Red Envelope still broke through the walls Blue Wallet had built over so many years.

Old Ma clearly understood that facing this Red Envelope game based on social group chats, QQ still had the ability to copy it, but Blue Wallet had absolutely no power to fight back.

After all, although Blue Wallet now has a chat function, it’s all one-on-one.

And most of the time, very few Blue Wallet users use Blue Wallet to chat.

Most of the user chat boxes in their software are transfer messages.

Even if Blue Wallet added a group chat function now and immediately developed the Red Envelope, it’s unlikely that many people would play the Red Envelope in Blue Wallet’s group chats.

This function itself was launched based on chat software.

Blue Wallet has a natural disadvantage in this regard.

That’s why Old Ma chose to give many employees in Blue Wallet a vacation while QQ was frantically developing the Red Envelope function.

After all, for a period of time before, many of Blue Wallet’s employees had been working long hours and overtime to cope with the impact of Weixin Wallet.

And now, the outcome is almost clear.

His employees no longer have the necessity or reason to continue working overtime.

And now, both the outside world and the three major groups are quietly waiting for time to pass.

Because everyone knows that the moment WeChat’s daily active users surpass QQ and Blue Wallet is about to arrive.

And under everyone’s gaze, a week, two weeks, quickly passed.

(PS: The WeChat chapter should end tomorrow.)

Chapter 159: The Next Hot Software, Wang Mo’s Thoughts.

Two weeks after WeChat announced its last daily active users, QQ finally announced that it would add the Red Envelope feature in an update three days later.

Although many QQ users were quite happy to see this news, as this feature could indeed bring more fun to QQ, everyone knew that it was already a bit too late for QQ to launch this update at this point in time.

In the past two weeks, WeChat’s user count continued to increase due to the popularity of the Red Envelope.

Originally, QQ had estimated that WeChat would need at least another month to surpass them, and if they added the Red Envelope feature during this period, they could slow down this process more quickly.

But the trending topic two weeks ago directly shattered QQ’s last shred of hope.

At this current point in time, WeChat’s daily active user count has reached 570 million.

It is now only 10 million away from QQ’s daily active user count.

This gap, even if QQ adds the Red Envelope feature in three days, can no longer be stopped.

It is only a matter of time before WeChat users surpass QQ and Blue Wallet.

Everyone understands that this time, WeChat will likely create history again.

Meanwhile, within Junzi Group, Wang Mo was already contemplating the type of the next software.

Junzi Group Building, in Wang Mo’s office on the top floor.

“Only ten million left.”

“At most a week.”

“It will only take at most a week for our WeChat’s daily active user count to surpass QQ and Blue Wallet, becoming the software with the most users in Yan Country.”

“I never would have thought, never would have thought.”

“One day, we would actually be able to simultaneously bring down QQ and Blue Wallet.”
