You Were Told to Design Software, But You Created Tiktok?!

237: Section 237Ali Group took the lead in issuing an announcement, stating that they would soon launch a new takeout software called Ele.me, which was currently under development.

After Ali Group took the lead,

to attract attention and traffic first, so that the software would have popularity upon launch, various internet giants successively announced the types and names of the software they were developing.

Shortly after Ali Group released its announcement, Baidu announced that it would launch Baidu Takeout.

At the same time,

several smaller internet companies successively announced the launch of software in the travel sub-sector of the group buying field, with Ctrip and Qunar, several hotel and travel-focused applications, being revealed.

And after the appearance of competitors in this sub-segment of the group buying field, a recently established Zhaolin Group announced that it would create Dianping to serve other group buying websites.

Besides these companies that chose to enter other sub-sectors,

most of the remaining internet companies opted for the group buying sector.

Group buying websites such as Qianshou, Wowowo, and Manzuo all announced that they were under development.

Just on this day,

over a hundred similar software and websites, created due to the leaked information about Meituan, were publicly revealed.

Penguin Group also did not miss out on this opportunity.

Although they were the ones who initially leaked the news, Penguin Group still had its own group buying and takeout software project internally, named Penguin Group Buying.

Penguin Group’s goal, like Meituan’s, was to target both the group buying and takeout sectors.

On this day,

the project announcements of countless internet companies almost swept across the entire network.

For a time,

almost the entire internet was discussing various websites and software.

Even,

many internet users had already started placing private bets to see who could stand until the end in this great melee of Yan Country’s internet.

Among these users’ bets,

they were most optimistic about only three software: Penguin Group Buying, Meituan, and Ele.me.

After all, the developers of these three software were currently the three largest internet companies in Yan Country.

The difficulty for other manufacturers to snatch a piece of the pie from these three was quite exaggerated.

Subsequently,

after Ali Group and Penguin Group both announced their new projects,

many internet users rushed to the official Weibo accounts of Junzi Group’s other software to urge them.

After all, at present,

only Meituan had not yet been officially revealed.

Although from the current situation,

the leaked information about Meituan was indeed true, and Junzi Group was indeed developing such software.

However, Junzi Group had not yet personally admitted it, so everything was still subject to change.

Perhaps in the end,

Wang Mo might have canceled the project.

Facing the urging of numerous netizens, Junzi Group remained calm and did not reveal any information for several days.

Many reporters,

after secretly interviewing some employees within Junzi Group, also received the answer that they knew nothing.

This situation was acceptable for one or two days, but for the following week, Junzi Group still did not disclose any information.

It must be understood that,

almost the entire network now knew that Junzi Group was developing a group buying and takeout software called Meituan, so logically, Wang Mo had no reason to keep it a secret any longer.

After all, revealing Meituan now,

could bring a lot of traffic and popularity to Meituan in advance.

Watching this scene,

many internet users did not find any problem.

But many,

other smaller internet giants began to panic.

Because this gradually took on a hint of conspiracy theory.

If this news was false, and Wang Mo did not believe the group buying and takeout sectors had potential, then all their actions might just be a waste of time.

Previously,

upon learning of Wang Mo’s next move, they almost invested a large amount of capital to start developing software in the group buying and takeout sectors.

Many manufacturers even invested all their capital, hoping to make a desperate gamble this time.

They were not clear about the potential of the group buying and takeout sectors, but they trusted Wang Mo’s vision.

Wang Mo’s vision was the only reason for them to create similar software.

After all, before this,

the various software launched by Wang Mo had already proven this point.

Even if in the end,

their software could not continue to survive,

as long as their software achieved some success, they would have the qualification to be acquired by other major companies.

The outcome of many internet wars is basically like this: the worst manufacturers directly go out of business, and those with some achievements and users are acquired by the top-performing ones.

Even,

many small internet companies entered this war and competed with other major companies precisely to increase their value and eventually be acquired.

They also did not believe they could stand until the end, but as long as the company was acquired by a major company, they could make a big profit.

But if,

Wang Mo had no intention of creating group buying and takeout software, if this information was false,

then perhaps,

all the funds they invested in the early stage would be wasted.

That is why many internet companies started to panic, as their initial investment was already quite significant.

And under such circumstances,

Junzi Group still had no news or actions.

Another week passed.

Now,

it had been a full half a month since Meituan was first revealed!

Based on time estimates, if Junzi Group was indeed developing Meituan, then Meituan should be nearing completion and could indeed be announced.

But Junzi Group still had no information.

And by this time,

many internet companies finally couldn’t sit still; they were frantically developing software with the full strength of their companies, and some had even started spending money to sign contracts with offline businesses.

Some of the initial investments had already exceeded tens of millions.

But at this point, Meituan still had no information.

The possibility of this information being false was growing.

Therefore,

at this point, half a month after Meituan was revealed, countless internet companies began to contact Penguin Group, wanting to verify the authenticity of the news.

Some internet practitioners who started businesses with loans had even started causing trouble outside the Penguin Group building.

“You were the ones who spread the news initially.”

“Now this news is very likely false, you must take responsibility!”

And many people who went to Junzi Group for verification now only received one answer:

“We didn’t say that, we didn’t say anything, what Meituan, we (Wang’s good) don’t know.”

Upon receiving this answer, many internet companies finally realized that, from beginning to end, Junzi Group seemed to have never acknowledged the existence of Meituan.

It was all Penguin Group talking to itself.

For a time,
